“Perfect little getaway from town, or stop around the Irish Loop. The space has everything you need, plus an unobstructed view of the waves from the bed. As other reviews have said, bring your food with you! Little convenience store nearby, but just the basics. Highly recommend!”
Sip your morning cup of tea while taking in the magnificent view of Cape Broyle Harbour. Spend the day exploring the beautiful outports along the Southern Shore. As evening falls, sit around a bonfire on the beach or stargaze from our stage-head. Then cuddle up for a good night’s sleep accompanied by the sound of the ocean’s lullaby. Seasonally swim at local swimming holes or go ice skating on a nearby pond, close to East Coast Trails, and the Ferryland lighthouse plus many more attractions!
“Paula’s cottage is so great! The cottage itself is clean, homey, and comfortable. There were tons of personal touches and it had everything we needed. You can’t beat the views and the area! Super close to Ferryland and tons of great hiking trails. We also really enjoyed being able to bring our dog and use the fire pit in the backyard. Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone!”

“Our 4 nights at The Drook were just what we needed after putting 1800 kms on our vehicle in a week showing my brother and sister-in-law around the eastern portion of Nfld. It was a much needed rest. This spot is great - spotless, charming, cozy, beautiful, quiet, peaceful, comfortable and provided everything that we needed. The beach is wonderful to take a walk on, do some beachcombing, watch the northern gannets dive, spot an arctic loon or two, other seabirds and shorebirds, or see a seal or two. We aren’t coffee drinkers, but we noticed there were coffee beans and a grinder - a nice touch over and above just regular drip coffee or environmentally unthinking coffee pods. I think the only thing that I can think of that was a bit of an inconvenience was when making toast in the toaster or boiling some pasta, we set the smoke alarm off (even with the windows open) since it was pretty much right above the kitchen area - not a big deal - we just fanned the device every time until it would shut off. The beds were super comfy and it was soothing to hear the waves crashing on the beach in the distance, along with the little stream running by the cabin. I loved all the little items on the wall to look at and ponder. The book and DVD collection is fun. We saw a number of birds, both on land and water, that I wished there had a been a book on birds to identify them better, but we stopped in at the interpretive centre in PCS and got some assistance. All in all, a great spot to decompress, enjoy some peace and quiet and take in the beauty of the area, sunshine and fog combined!”
