Holiday rentals with breakfast in Puntarenas Province

Chris and Kristen are such amazing hosts! They are kind, attentive and communicate very well. They have an amazing guide book that could answer almost every question you have about traveling here and if it doesn’t, they respond quickly if you text them. The property itself is so beautiful. Their garden of plants and trees is captivating and with the river flowing behind it all, it’s like you have your own little sanctuary. The pictures can’t do it justice. My room was clean and there’s a good bit of open space which I liked. My stay here was so magical and I’ll never forget it. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This is our second stay at Lila's amazing property. We love it and are already planning our third trip! Hot tips for this place: it is rural. Get a good 4x4 to get here. It makes the trip so much smoother. Land Cruiser Prados are the way to go. I would not recommend cheaping out on the 4wd. I'd also suggest a Costa Rica eSIM for your cell phone. Coverage is spotty, at best. The beach is INSANE. If you do get here, and see its beauty, please keep it a secret! :) Lila's place is perfect. It has everything you need, and a bit more. It is truly an oasis. Lila is a wonderful communicator. Despite you feeling like you are at the end of the world, she's always there to help, and her local team are amazing. They show up and take care of anything immediately. Download a roadmap on your phone. Trust the local restaurants (El Barco and San Miguel are amazing). This area is sensational, and Lila makes it comfy, safe, and so satisfying! Thank you again, Lila!

A beautiful rustic house overlooking the volcanoes. We had a minor issue with the water and Tomás was quick to take care of it. Other than that our stay was perfect. Do keep in mind the biggest room is downstairs, so not suitable for somebody who has trouble with stairs. But the three rooms in the main area still have enough beds. This would be an awesome place for a big family. Close to Poás and the peace waterfalls. My teenage children all loved it.

WONDERFUL hidden gem! We loved our stay, Frederica and her husband and so welcoming. The property is centrally located, and once you step inside it’s is truly a private oasis. We stayed in the “Fuego” room and it match the description and pictures very well. Great water pressure in shower! Spent most of our time on our porch and enjoyed the pool for a refreshing cool down. Every morning I walked to the beach for a quick swim, returned for a wonderful yoga session, followed by a beautiful breakfast. Quiet, restful and relaxed stay in Sámara. Thank you! 🙏

We had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb. The house is larger than the pictures make it out to be, and their host and concierge services were the best I’ve experienced. Air conditioning in every room, and plenty of space. Location is about a 15-20 min walk to the “start” of the beach, but recommend renting a golf cart as the road is busy and you’re uphill on the way back. One thing to be aware of is there isn’t much shade in the back by the pool during the heat of the day. Only one sun umbrella was available and handful of lounge chairs. We also found the kitchenware, particularly the knives, to be quite worn out, so consider bringing some of your own if you plan on making meals. Excellent stay, great value.

We had an unforgettable stay at Victoria’s house at Las Nubes Atenas! If you’re reading this and looking for a relaxing, beautiful vacation - just save yourself some time and book it. Waking up to the mountain views from our room was awesome. The beautiful bed, well-stocked kitchen, and the fresh fruit straight from the farm were great touches. Everything felt so thoughtfully done. Stunning views everywhere you look. We took advantage of the many services Victoria offered: massage by Andrea, dinner by Rosa, sauna by the pool. We definitely recommend planning to stay at the Airbnb to enjoy it for a few evenings. Victoria helped us arrange a rental car and airport taxi. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, thanks to her clear instructions. Victoria and Mark were the most gracious hosts—attentive and warm. We will definitely recommend this gem to our friends and family :)

La casa es divina!! Habitaciones muy cómodas!! El cuarto con mesa de ping pong y futbolín lo máximo ! Los niños felices ! La pasamos excelente !!

Appartement très bien, très propre et fonctionnel. Par contre l’environnement ne nous a pas rassuré, et les règles imposées (et de bon sens) sont trop souvent rappelés. Hormis ces détails, le logement était très bien équipé.

This was my second stay in Gustavo's place. Gustavo is an amazing host, and one of the best hosts that I've experienced on Airbnb. He is very responsive, and provides many toiletries that other places did not provide. The apartment is big, clean and has an amazing view. The apartment is in a good location and has many things that are walkable. I would definitely stay in Gustavo's place again.

El apartamento tiene todas las comodidades para pasar una estadía en Tamarindo. Está ubicado al lado del Restaurant Sofía que es una gran alternativa para ir. La ubicación sin dudas es muy conveniente ya que está a 100 metros caminando de Playa Tamarindo y muy cerca de Playa Langosta. La comunicación con los propietarios fue muy rápida y siempre estuvieron disponibles. Incluso para brindarnos algunos detalles extra para la casa. Recomendable tanto para una estadía corta o más larga. Gracias Hassan, Mehmet y Ned!

This property was beautiful and clean, I loved the back porch with the pool and ocean view. The location was easy to get to, and the property was securely gated with plenty of parking space. The inside is gorgeous with a well equipped kitchen, very spacious bedrooms and bathrooms and a big living room area. A big plus was that we had access to the Crocs hotel next door, with access to all the pools and restaurants. We especially loved seeing the macaws all around the property! Would highly recommend staying here if you are going to vacation in this area.

I wanted to stay some days in Costa Rica to know Heredia and San Jose’s surroundings The place is excellent located. It has everything needed to feel like home. The furniture is brand new, the kitchen, bathroom works perfectly and the fact it includes breakfast saves a lot of trouble

Tolle hoteleigene Trails und sehr schöner Poolbereich. Sehr gutes Essen und freundliches Personal. Sehr schnelle Reaktion auf Fragen und sehr hilfreiche Hinweise. Sehr empfehlenswert !

Outstanding stay in every possible way. Sue and Joe have created an oasis in the jungle. The lodging itself is beautiful and matched the photos but what sets Southern Drakes Lodge apart is the service. We are a family of 5 and never have we felt so taken care of in all our travels. From the moment we booked to when it was time to depart, Sue and Joe took care of every detail from taxis, laundry, tours (thank you Elsa!), amazing meals (Thai and Ellie prepared breakfast and dinner that were as beautiful as they were delicious). Five days was not enough but we all left with a sense of gratitude that we were able to experience the OSA peninsula and stay in such a special place with amazing hosts.

We had an incredible stay at this bed and breakfast. The owners, who also run the place themselves, have put so much care into every detail—right down to the beautiful, functional furniture they built themselves. They truly nailed both the “bed” and “breakfast” aspects—we left feeling completely rested and refreshed. One tip for future guests, especially during the peak of the dry season: embrace the afternoon heat rather than fighting it. Take advantage of the thoughtful amenities—make a refreshing glass of iced tea or water (everything you need is provided), turn on the air, close the shades, and relax on the exceptionally comfortable beds. Even a nap isn’t a bad idea! By around 4:00 PM, it cools off enough to fully enjoy the pool, play darts, or challenge someone to a game of billiards. This is a truly special place, and we’d absolutely stay here again!

Incroyable ! nous avons adoré notre séjour à la cabanne .. pas de gros insecte en vu , parcontre singe hurleur , coatis , colibri ,luciole, écureuil .. wahou quel dépaysement ! on est au milieu de la jungle et c'est magique ! literie très confortable, et logement très bien équipé . Il n'y a pas de clim mais un bon ventilateur dans la chambre . nous avons fais la sortie kayak bioluminescence..ça vaut clairement le coup de pagaie ! pura vida

Really nice spot. Super friendly couple. Had awesome chats every morning. I was so burned out from life and Kris was on top of the suggestions. The combination of a peaceful place to stay and having someone support my agenda really made for a nice vacation. Also loved the feel of the home and the earthen floors which made me feel hugged and cozy. Thanks again!!

Ruth and Andrea are absolutely wonderful hosts, very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and activities. The bed is super comfy, and you get to wake up with a breathtaking view. It’s one of the highlights of our trip! I hope to be back one day!

Edward and his family provide a lovely apartment close to the airport. We were exhausted after a full day of travel and it was amazing to have such a clean and welcoming space to spend the night. Edward was so kind and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed, even offering breakfast prepared from scratch. He and his family were wonderful hosts and we'd be happy to stay again!

Great place to stay, close to airport. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Very friendly host, Edwin even offered to drive me to the airport at 4 am! I was there only for one night. The room is spacious with a large and very comfortable bed / mattress. Big bathroom with everything you need. All was meticulously clean, and welcoming. I used the jacuzzi to relax. I would stay here again!

Muito boa a hospedagem. O local é lindo e ainda vimos uma preguiça dormindo na árvore do estacionamento! O café da manhã estava incluído na reserva e era muito bom também! Nos deram dicas do que fazer. O bosque nuboso de monteverde estava sem reserva disponível, e nos sugeriram de ir para o bosque de Santa Elena! Foi ótimo!!
