Monthly Rentals in São Barnabé

I stayed at the dome with my children and for us it was paradise. There is an abundance of space, beautiful nature, silence, the elements, a nightsky full of stars, and lots of great advice and help from Barbara. It takes a bit of an adventurous and spontaneous spirit to stay there, it’s not so easy to reach esp. after lots of rainfall, but as I found out things always magically arrange themselves there.

Beautiful, authentic Portuguese house, with magnificent view. The house has a nice, well-equipped kitchen, which is accessible from the terrace. When we were there, there was a litter of swallows in the corner of the terrace, which had to learn to fly, and that we were able to enjoy every day. From the house you are right on a beautiful hiking trail that is well marked. The route is about 17 km, but can easily be halved. You do have to drive at least 5 km for everything (groceries, restaurants, etc.), so you can't walk to a restaurant. There is no air conditioning, but the house can be kept cool by its thick walls. Unfortunately a lot of mosquitoes in the area so don't forget the DEET 😊 Tip: in Alte is a delicious praia fluvial, near the Fonte, to cool off at the end of the afternoon.

The English language does not have the correct words to describe how incredibly beautiful this place is. Not only is the scenery breathtaking, you also have the two nicest humans in Portugal who host you! Filipa and Luis are truly so kind and welcoming. Their 3 young sons are also gentlemen and one day will be great footballers.! You just have to go to understand this special place. The bedroom and bathroom have a touch of elegance, class and comfort nestled within the raw Portuguese nature. Stop reading and book - you won’t regret it! 🇵🇹
