Located in the town next to Narai-juku, Nakasendo's post town, a historic town that has flourished as a region for lacquerware from the Edo period.It was built in 1931 in this town, which has been designated a preservation district for traditional buildings and still has many lacquerware shops. Our house is available for one group per day, without meals, and as a whole house rental.It takes a little time to get around, and there are no supermarkets or convenience stores in this area, but I think that's why this place has a quietness and a casual, simple beauty to everyday life.It would be nice if you could stay like living in this old town, such as reading, walking, local sake (sake, wine), and sleeping slowly. There are no screen doors in the old houses in the valleys between the mountains, so in the warmer seasons, wildlife may come in.The 95-year-old building is not polished to a high shine down to the last detail.We are preparing to welcome you as clean as possible, but we would appreciate it if you could come with a big heart. We use the accommodation fees we receive from guests to repair the building, and I would like to start by taking care of this wonderful house for about 20 years so that it can be passed on to the next generation.

A boundless sea of stars.A summer resort at an altitude of approximately 900 metres. Experience the warmth and scent of wood, with Kiso cypress pillars, Kiso cypress flooring, and Kiso larch beams. In winter, heating is provided by a wood-burning stove and solar thermal energy. How about reading in a hammock? On the premises, there is an office belonging to the construction company, as well as a restaurant run by the company, where you can have lunch. There is also a desk workspace, so you can use it for business trips, remote work, etc.Enjoy working in a natural setting. When you check in, we will ask you to provide the contact details of all guests. *In accordance with Nagano Prefecture ordinances, an accommodation tax of ¥200 per person per night will be charged for stays from 1 June 2026, and ¥300 per person per night for stays from 1 June 2029.

A spacious, 221-year-old private house in the center of Tsumagojuku!

This is an old house built 221 years ago, located in the center of Tsumago-juku. The 20-tatami living room has a sunken hearth (currently unavailable) and you can enjoy the old Japanese private house. There are 3 bedrooms, so you can stay with a large number of people, such as family and friends. No meals are provided. You are welcome to use the full kitchen freely. There is a backyard at the end of the dirt floor that continues from the entrance, and you can walk around freely. Equipped with WiFi and an automatic lifting table, teleworking is also possible for long-term stays. Please have a relaxing time in this quiet old house. We look forward to seeing you ！

Recommended for families, couples and small groups. This area is rich in history and nature. Suwa Taisha Shrine, hot springs, Nakasendo. Hiking in the mountains and strolling around Lake Suwa are also recommended ways to spend your time. It's also great to explore the Suwa area on a rental bicycle.
