Cabin holiday rentals in Smith Mountain Lake

Absolutely lovely cabin! The best place to be to disconnect and unwind. The small details were the best part. The bed in the loft was so comfy and the entire cabin was so welcoming. We didn’t want to leave!

Very nice cabin. Everything was clean. Comfortable beds. Hot tub was great after hikes. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Couldn’t ask for better host, location was great nice secluded area with a lot of farm life roaming. Everything was as described and the host help me set up beautiful flowers and chocolates for when we arrived. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

My kids and I loved going between kayaking, enjoying the hot tub, and relaxing. Lovely spot!

Ms. Michelle hosted my team as we were in town for a tournament and we thoroughly enjoyed the large space with the nice bedrooms, spacious living rooms, and the hot tub. We had access to everything we needed, with Ms. Michelle even getting some extra towels for us. A great stay!

We spent 3 very rainy days at Smith Mountain Lake, and Gwen's place was the highlight for our small gathering of 2 families (4 adults & 4 kids). In terms of space for sleeping, we had more than enough. The 5th bedroom came in handy for the lone teenager in our group, and rooms are spaced throughout the house in a way that allows you to arrange them in order by who is going to sleep first. Beyond that, we spent a lot of time at the place just relaxing. There's a great hot tub/spa that's more than big enough for 4 adults, and a huge, covered back porch off the kitchen that's great for hanging out, even in the rainy winter. Gwen has stocked the place with board games, air hockey and foosball, and there's a ping pong table in the lower porch area. Based on our stay this winter, we'd love to come back when the weather is nicer. The dock is perfect for swimming and getting the kayaks out in the water. Thanks again, Gwen!

Cabin is perfect, feels secluded in yard with the creek running beside. But you are about 10-15 minutes away from anything in Roanoke. Yard is great for the dogs to run around and explore, with a fence high enough to keep our one escape artist dog contained. Everything was very clean and cozy inside. One thing I noticed that isn't clear in the listing, is that for one bedroom there is not a door between the bed and bathroom. Could be uncomfortable if sharing that room with another person.

We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend stay at the cabin. The surroundings are beautiful and had we been in the area to enjoy ‘lake life’ this cabin would be a perfect fit. We were in the area to visit some museums in Roanoke and usually stay in hotels, but our dogs tend to bark and that bothers the other guests. As the cabin is dog friendly, we were able to crate them for a little while, while we enjoyed our day. Our host provided plenty of towels for our use, though we were surprised that there were no washcloths provided. When I mentioned this to our host, she said they’d take that recommendation for future guests. I’d also suggest that a box of tissues would be a nice addition (fortunately we had one in the car). But this is nitpicking, really. Bottom line - it’s a beautiful cabin and the surroundings are the same. Any lake loving boater would be right at home. And our host was friendly and communicative.

This was our second time staying here. The cabin is beautiful and well maintained! They provided lots of firewood which was wonderful because we had a campfire every day! The kids loved the playground and the creek and want to come back over the summer for swimming in the lake! The linens and beds were great - we brought our own towels which was fine and they did have hand towels in the kitchen and bathrooms. There is nothing around which we loved - very peaceful and relaxing. The stairs going upstairs are steep and curvy so our little one (3) was nervous but the big boys (7 and 9) were fine with it. We plan on coming back!

What an incredible spot! Ryan’s place is a dream. We had such a wonderful stay and are so grateful to have enjoyed a little piece of heaven. Morning coffee on the porch and seeing an eagle was the absolute highlight to the trip! They had everything we could need and more and were so thoughtful in how the home is ready and set up for their guests. Would recommend this place a thousand times!

So peaceful and beautiful! Great for a long weekend of decompression. Lovely places with everything we needed. Will definitely stay again. Highly recommend. Very clean.

My wife and I spent a weekend getaway at Alicia’s place. I loved that it was right on the water with a dock to access the lake. The place exceeded our expectations! They pictures were great but it’s even better when you arrive. It was a great mix of modern amenities and rustic cabin. The backyard was also absolutely beautiful with the wide array of landscaping. Alicia was a wonderful and responsive host who made sure we had a great time.

Amazing and YES, cozy but not small country cottage! Beautiful Natural and well kept outdoors. Many sitting and dinning areas. inside provided tremendous light, many windows, Amazing space and separation of sleeping areas and very private bath. Kitchen perfectly laid out with much space for multiple cooks. Clean, private, quite and indoor bug free environment. Two perfect fire pits; one secluded for privacy and another perfect for gatherings. Perfect ambience. We felt we were home away from home. We had last minute request and Michelle was flexible, accommodating and went beyond host duties to fulfill our unusual needs. We will definitely return for another country cozy get away. Check in/out instructions were clear and minimal. Thank you for an amazing getaway! Look for us to return. We will definitely tell our friends!

Melba's little cabin is amazing. Don't just stay somewhere nice, stay somewhere unique and wonderful! From the custom details in the house to the adorable animals just across the fence (especially the little pig), this cabin was a heartwarming, peaceful experience we'll never forget. Close to great dining, too and of course Smith Mountain Lake. Thank you, Melba and family. We hope to come back.

We loved our stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable with the best front porch. We loved watching the boats and such on the lake. Everything was as described and we felt it was perfect for a peaceful and relaxing weekend at the lake. We would stay here again, for sure.

My parents stayed here for along weekend and they absolutely loved it! They said it was the cleanest place they have ever stayed in, and they really enjoyed the privacy and tranquility of the home. They also loved the town of Bedford and said they would definitely be coming back!
