Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Whanganui River

We loved our stay at Suzanne's place! It's serene, peaceful and just what we were after. The facilities are well thought-out and well-stocked. Can't beat the location and privacy next to the beautiful river. A real hidden gem. I can see why it's listed as one of Air BnB's 'Guest Favourites'. Suzanne is very friendly and helpful. Thanks for having us :)

Wow! The photos don’t do this magical retreat justice! We stayed during autumn and the colourful leaves reflecting on the tranquil pond is majestic. The use of the kayak and row boat was an added bonus, as was two evenings of a campfire! Originally we had only booked one night but I am grateful we changed it to two! The bed was like sleeping in a cloud (I imagine so, anyways). Suggestion to others: bring your wine and cheese board for dinner. Limited cell phone reception.

Absolutely stunning place - perfect to unwind and relax as well as having lots of activities on your doorstep. Quick and pleasant stroll to town and the Carrot park which our kids loved! Would definitely recommend!

We stayed at Pumice during the off-season for Okahune, so the vibes may be a bit different during the Winter months, but our stay was super relaxing. Pumice is obviously gorgeous and the design was well-crafted. The kitchen has everything you'd need to cook a meal (we cooked thrice). The shower is lovely and I'm sure the heated floors only get better in the winter months. Evan is super helpful and kind - don't hesitate to reach out if you have concerns during your stay. Okahune in the off-season doesn't have a lot going on, but you should still check out the Carrot park - it was a highlight of our stay as we just kind of stumbled upon it. There is also a small disc golf course within a 5 minute walk if you're into that. Be sure to grab a latte while you're in NZ - I feel like every place we went made the best latte I've ever had and the little store in Okahune was no exception. Grab an eclaire while you're there.

This is such a lovely little place. Wonderful to be up on the hill, light a fire and watch the stars. We would have liked to stay another night it was that cosy. Big comfy bed, sweet details throughout - definite recommendation.

Despite a last minute booking, The Crib was a beautiful little lodge in a quiet peaceful area but still in close proximity to the city. Really enjoyed the fireplace and the extra refreshments in the fridge. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great stay. The remote location and wood burning stove plus wood burning hot tub made things feel very cozy and unique. We had a blast keeping the fires going and spending time in the tub on the deck and watching deer and birds go by. Highly recommend the experience!

Tastefully renovated cottage with lovely wooden floors. Detail in funky crockery and glasses, everything you needed to make your own dinners, great selection of games, loved the detail of a coffee machine and beans to freshy grind. Beautiful and sunny out the front. Great back yard if you had young children to run around in.

Lovely tiny house in the middle of nowhere. Generally really well-equipped and -furnished. The location is easy to find thanks to a marker on Google Maps, just make sure to take the correct gate on the right-hand side (it was a bit confusing at dark with two gates right next to each other).
