Our house is made of two cabins that were originally loggers floating homes. Here the hillside location catches the sun and provides a stunning view of Lake Cowichan. Towering Douglas Fir surround you as you drink your morning coffee. Use the fenced yard, porch or yoga hut. If you are lucky the famous Youbou elk will visit!
“Teresa is a great host and she cooks a top rate breakfast. The view from the cabin is exceptional. As always tho, the price of a view is a climb. I could not recommend this place to anyone with walking difficulties. The location is central to all that Youbou offers. The pub is a short walk for excellent meals with a view.”
The cottage makes a perfect getaway and will provide you with the nature fix you have been craving! Long sun-drenched afternoons on the dock will bring sun and fun back into your summer! The cottage has breathtaking lake and mountain views & sits directly across the road from our own private lakefront property with a large, private dock, fire pit, and lakeside access. Your day, your way.. Youbou Retreat
“We had a lovely stay in Graeme and Tracy’s place. When we got in, there was Christmas music playing, the place was warm and lit, and there were unbelievably delicious baked treats on the counter, which we promptly devoured. The place was lovely and clean, and the view over the lake from the cozy couch made it very hard to go much farther than grabbing a cup of coffee from the kitchen. The tub is also amazing and I highly recommend bringing some bubble bath for your stay. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for making tasty meals, and there’s a grocery store about a 15 min drive away should you need anything. We went for brief wander down to the lake a few times and it was peaceful and quiet. I can’t recommend this place enough for a relaxing get-away. We hope to go back!”
My place is close to village parks, wilderness parks and a lake with a sandy beach. You’ll love the village of Youbou because of the mountain and lake views. We are located 15 minutes from the town of Lake Cowichan and 30 minutes from Duncan. We are 10 minutes from Laketown Ranch which holds many outdoor music festivals. Nanaimo and Victoria are about a hour away.
“Our stay at Cottonwood was fantastic; it was clear that the hosts put lots of care and work into making sure we felt welcome! We were provided guides for trails, food, and other information about the area/surrounding areas. The place itself was also cozy, homey (spacious suite with lots of cute furniture and books, great patio!!), and very thoughtfully supplied.”
