Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Albemarle County

This was a perfect two night getaway with our family. The house is very clean. The views are beautiful. There are lots of things to do in the area not far from the house. We enjoyed taking the short path to the brewery for a couple of meals. The food is great! We sat by the fire and soaked in the hot tub. Martha’s instructions were very easy to follow to check in and checkout. She was very responsive. We appreciate that she also offered plenty of suggestions for things to do in the area. Our weekend girls' trip getaway to Susanne's pastoral family homeplace was absolutely wonderful, as this property is truly its own point of interest! While all bed/bath/kitchen provisions were top notch and well exceeded a typical amenity checklist, the thing that comforted us the most was a warm and open welcoming into the doors of this historic family home. From classic furnishings and sturdy wares, old photos and whimsical trinkets, interesting nooks and mysterious crannies, peaceful porch seating and delightful cow parades, abundant trees and beautiful flowers... we felt like we were right at home. Although we could have been perfectly content staying parked on the property our entire stay (and may plan to do just that for our next visit) we opted to enjoy a lovely drive for a day hike to a stunning waterfall in Shenandoah National Park, and went in to Charlottesville for some shopping on the pedestrian mall. We 100% recommend this historic property and Susanne's warm hospitality!

I was in town for a family wedding. What a great home for us to be able to stay together. The sunrise and sunsets were amazing. Our host, Ned was great and left us plenty of notes and suggestions for things to do.

Lisa was a very good host and responded to my messages in a reasonable amount of time. The house was nicely decorated and spacious for our group (5 people). The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The location actually turned out to be better than originally thought for what we wanted to see and do. We were basically 10-15 minutes away from downtown Charlottesville, wineries, and Monticello. We had a great time and plan to come back.

Natalie and Joe’s place was great! Super clean and well laid out. Just a short walk from town, it’s a perfect location. Highly recommend.

We had a great stay at the Critzer House. It was just as described and perfect for our two families of four. Plenty of room for all of us to hang out together or retreat to separate spaces for some quiet time. The sunroom was great for starting the day with coffee and finishing with adult beverages. The location was ideal...30 minutes or less to incredible hikes, breweries, wineries, and distilleries. Easy walk to Blue Mountain Brewery for dinner after a long day exploring the beautiful surrounding area.

The hosts were fantastic! The property was even better than imagined! It was a peaceful, serene, beautiful home. Our family spent Easter together there and made some wonderful memories! We hope to visit again next year!

Adorable space just perfect for a weekend stay. We were in town for a concert at ting pavilion and it was about 20 minute drive to downtown area which is where we spent most of our time exploring places to eat and night life. The space was VERY clean and Bianca is an exceptional host who communicates well and added wonderful touches like wine and some breakfast foods. Great value and I would definitely stay again!

Henry's home was beautiful and conveniently located. We arrived late from a long drive, and were able to easily find and enter the home in the dark. The location is peaceful. It is also only 15-20 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. It was very easy to use a ride share service for less than $30 to take us downtown or back. I would definitely recommend that anyone visit these beautiful accommodations, with convenient access to some of the best wineries along the Monticello Wine Trail. Everything was seamless and I would definitely visit again without hesitation.

This is a very comfortable, clean, and beautiful place. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful. I especially loved the second floor, on nice days, I really enjoyed the sunlight there. The large windows offer a great view of the outdoors. The hosts are very friendly and provided detailed instructions for everything along with restaurant recommendations. They were very responsive and quick to answer any questions, which made everything so easy. Their warmth and kindness created such a welcoming atmosphere, and they paid attention to every little detail to ensure a comfortable stay. I truly enjoyed my time here. I would have loved to extend my stay, but unfortunately, the place was already booked for the following days. I would definitely stay here again if I get the chance!

Great stay! It was great bringing our pet on our snowboarding trip. Plenty of room and pet friendly in suite 1. Great location for local breweries, hiking, and snow sports. The bed was super comfy! Would definitely stay again!

This place was the perfect getaway!

The home was great! Matched the description and pictures online. It’s a perfect location. The neighborhood was beautiful and had hiking trails within a half mile. Downtown was just a 5-10 minute drive. We loved the game room and fresh eggs from the chickens in the yard!

We had a wonderful stay. The location is off of a quiet road on a peaceful and beautiful piece of land. We loved meeting the goats (with two only hours-old babies to boot!) and pigs - and Dalva of course. The living space is clean and has everything you could need. Above all, having welcoming hosts is what makes an AirBnb stand out. Thank you both again!

We were very comfortable here and the whole place was very clean and had everything we needed. Jodi communicated quickly if I had questions. It was very peaceful and serene and we hope to go back on our next trip to palmyra in the fall!

Me and my family had a great time here. The proximity to hiking trails can’t be beat. Plus, we loved the hot tub. The hosts were great about communicating and had great recommendations.

We loved our stay at this cabin! It offered total privacy, making it feel like our own little hideaway in nature. The surroundings were stunning—peaceful woods, fresh air, and gorgeous views all around. Inside, the cabin was cozy and thoughtfully furnished for comfort. We enjoyed walking down to see the waterfall on the lower field. The a/c was refreshing for what turned out to be a summer-like Easter. A perfect escape for a long weekend!

This cabin was beautiful! The interior was gorgeous with elegant and quality furnishings. The house was well stocked with many items which was so nice. The views and setting were stunning! Every window and door gave you majestic views of mountains and wildlife! The porch as AMAZING as was the fire-pit! To top it off there is a trampoline which I enjoyed channeling my inner child all with Mountain View’s! The hiking trail was exceptionally well done which we enjoyed. The hosts were amazing in responses and help and the welcome touches were so appreciated. What a way to celebrate retirement! We will be back!

This place was beautiful, clean, and had everything you could need in amenities. We had a wonderful time with family and we hope to stay again on our next visit to the area. The owner thought of everything to make us feel at home and comfortable.

These adorable cottages offer a tranquil escape in the Virginia countryside. The pool was a perfect oasis, and we loved having it all to ourselves. We were thrilled to find out about the direct booking option. Looking forward to our next visit!

Sitting on the back porch was very relaxing. It was very quiet, only a rare passing car (like twice in two days) and distant train sound once in a while. Other than that just the sound of birds and squirrels. The walking trails are lots of fun and I enjoyed looking for quartz on the trails. We saw a possum and a pileated woodpecker. Ate dinner at Indian Oven, 20 minutes away and very tasty. Cooked other meals at the cabin, it was stocked with everything we needed. Bed was comfy, shower was great, just a wonderful place to unwind.

My family and I had a wonderful stay. The house is so cute and has so much character. We love coming to Nelson County. This was our first time staying in Shipman and it's perfectly located to bop around the surrounding towns and Blue Ridge Parkway. Definitely go to Dr. Ho's Humble Pie and pop into the Crossroads market for their eclairs!
