Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Athens

The property and house were absolutely gorgeous. Even with the rain we had a fabulous time and still used the hot tub. Was the perfect size for the 3 of us. Kitchen had everything we needed and the coffee bar was well stocked! Perfect location for OU’s mom’s weekend with my girls.

We had a wonderful stay and have nothing but good things to say. The drive to Hocking Hills State Park was an easy 20 minutes. There is a Walmart not too far away for forgotten items. The house itself was great. The kids loved sharing a bunk room with cousins and the hot tub. It had everythinf we needed. Jacob was very responsive and helpful. Hocking Hills is a beautiful area and if we make it back, we would totally stay here again.

Repeat stay and hopefully we'll have the opportunity to visit again. Our visits with family in the area always seem so short, but it's lovely to have a place like this to call our "home" away from home!

Spacious, peaceful setting for a family gathering. Clean and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen. Close to Old Man’s Cave and the wonderful beauty of the State Park. We would enjoy returning to this property again.

Stayed here two years in a row for OU mom’s weekend! Perfect space for kids to hang in basement, while moms can sleep in bedrooms. Outdoor space looks so inviting, but it’s been too cold for us to enjoy it. If you’re looking for a place to host your daughter & her friends- this is it!! It’s not on campus, but that’s also what our girls wanted- to get away! Just a short drive to campus (15 min) though if needed!

Caleb‘s place was a beautiful retreat. The peaceful backyard watching the animals play on the hill was a bonus. The kitchen was stocked with spices and a few snacks. The king bed was exceptionally comfortable. He had plenty of extra blankets. Caleb was very responsive, friendly, and accommodating to our requests. It’s close to Hocking Hill State Park and restaurants, wineries, distilleries, and grocery.

This was the perfect spot for our trip to Athens. Be careful on the country road once you get off the highway. It is winding with a few tight curves, but definitely a beautiful short drive. We really liked the porches that faced the woods and fields.

Very nice little house perfectly as described. Nice big bathroom and kitchen. Adorable outdoor space, unfortunately it was raining all weekend so I didn't get to use it but it's very inviting and well stocked. The house is full of amenities. The bedside fan is a HUGE PLUS! Would absolutely stay here again.

I was in town for a concert and some hiking & this place was perfect! Short drive into town, peaceful location, and a clean simple apartment. The hosts were helpful and available.

Cindy was great! I would highly recommend staying at her house, it was clean and organized, Cindy was very kind and welcoming. It was very close to uptown.

Syd was so considerate as to meet us with an umbrella because it was raining when we arrived! She is truly a delight and a great host. Her space is homey and welcoming. We would love to stay again :)

My husband and I stayed at Idyll Reserve 5 (The North) for two nights in January and had a fabulous stay! 🌲❄️ The cabin was thoughtfully designed, tastefully decorated, and very spacious for the two of us (& could accommodate a small family easily). It had all the amenities you’d need for a cozy stay — spacious, fully-stocked kitchen (with coffee & espresso maker! ☕️), comfy couch, living room with large windows & beautiful views of the surrounding woods, walk-in double shower & soaking tub, and our personal favorites — the outdoor hot tub and sauna! Laura was extremely responsive and communication regarding check-in was the best I’ve had with an Airbnb host. We could have easily stayed several more days. Hocking Hills State Park is just a ~10 minute drive away (we did some gorgeous hiking to Ash Cave, Old Man’s Cave, and Cedar Falls all within a half day). We’re already planning our next trip back with our kids! 🥰

This was a very clean, cozy, and quiet place to stay when we visited Hocking Hills! The inside was newly done with cute decorations. The outdoor area is a nice place to hang out, and we caught and released many fish in the pond. A great choice and value for our getaway!

I would highly recommend this to anyone! This place was phenomenal and quiet and peaceful. Christine and Matt went beyond what anyone would expect. A lot of extra’s that you would not expect, like smores for the fire out back, snacks and drinks, a cheesecake, tooth paste, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Extremely clean, extra blankets, pillows, robes, many towels, this place is extra clean, quiet. There is a hot tub, and a fire pit for the relaxing evenings. We will return without hesitation. Thank you Matt and Christine you two are the best, and very appreciated more than you know. Thank you again.

I love Starry Night! This was my second stay and I am already planning a third stay. If you have a four legged travel companion **THIS** is, hands down, the best place to stay in Athens. The Airbnb is located within a neighborhood with low speed / low travel roads great for safe— dog walks (unlike most of pet friendly hotels in town). I highly recommend it to other OU parents…. a lovely accommodation a few miles SE from the Stimson Rd highway exit. You get the best of both worlds - beautiful scenery both there and on the drive out but close enough to town so it’s not inconvenient to campus, uptown or the shopping district on East State Street. Brenda and Deb go out of their way to make you feel welcome. My daughter and several of her friends came and out for an evening- there was plenty of room in the living area for a group of five to hang out enjoy some food and each other’s company.

Absolutely wonderful getaway, quiet and peaceful but not so far from a variety of entertainment options. Great place!

We had a great stay! The cabin was beautiful; as others said, the photos don’t do it justice! It felt very new and modern. The beds were extremely comfortable, and there were extra blankets in baskets throughout the cabin, which was a nice touch. We enjoyed the hot tub and cooking on the grill. The location was nice to be close to town to get coffee or groceries. Katie was very responsive via messages to answer questions or give recommendations. We are a family of six, and although the kids didn’t necessarily love sharing a sleeping space, the cabin was spacious enough that we didn’t feel crammed, and it gave us the family togetherness we were looking for! It was also very nice that we could bring our dog along.

This was one of the nicest AirBnB’s we’ve stayed at! We had a large group of adults and children age 6 and under. We enjoyed the amenities and the beautiful surroundings. The kids loved the fort and running around the woods! No detail was spared in this beautiful space. Thank you for a great stay!!

This place is a true gem for getting away from it all. I had a blast with my friends, and being surrounded by nature was incredibly refreshing. It's even more beautiful than I expected, and I'd love to return!💜

We had a great weekend stay! Very relaxing and cozy cabin. We were able to check in early, and the owners were very kind! We had everything we needed to cook meals and we were close enough to restaurants and fun things to do. We would definitely stay again!!

Oakridge was a relaxing getaway, though not as private as we expected. The cabin was clean, and the porch swing was a nice touch, but carpenter bees made outdoor time challenging. The hot tub was perfect for unwinding, though it was hard to fully relax due to the covers not dropping down, which made it hard to see if anyone was approaching. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the downstairs bed was comfortable, while the upstairs bed was too hard. The wood-burning fireplace was a nice bonus, but we couldn't use the outdoor fire pit due to a lack of chairs. The grill worked well for cooking. The location was great—close to hiking trails and waterfalls. The staff was friendly, and the cabin was well-stocked overall. However, the kitchen window didn’t lock, and there were no curtains on that window, which made us feel a bit uneasy about security.

My family and I love this place so much! we plan on returning for many years to come. The property is so beautiful and vast that there isn't ever a time that we were bored.

We booked the same day and Wes was awesome to deal with. The place is beautiful and so peaceful. The details were exact and we had no trouble getting everything to work. The lower level with all the games was a great way to spend the rainy weekend. Due to all the rain, it gave us the perfect excuse to stay in and enjoy everything. The beds were comfortable and all five of us slept well. It was nice hearing the rain on the roof. We loved the open kitchen living room space and the large bathrooms. Plenty of items in the kitchen to make cooking our food easy. We enjoyed the hot tub which is covered and could be used in rain. Since we have family who have disabilities I will add, it has about 5 steps to get into the house but the main floor and one of the bedrooms is workable for a person with mobility issues. The other levels have steps but the house is open enough to make everyone feel included. We will definitely be back. Thank you Wes for dealing with my crazy lost issues.

Amazing homey cabin. Private and a great place to disconnect and relax. Saving this place and plan on staying again!
