“The Sora is a very special place and my family had a wonderful stay. We were lucky enough to stay for several weeks during the Covid crisis and were so happy we chose the Sora as our country escape. We arrived just before sunset to find the house warm and well-lit with everything ready to go, and were able to relax from the very first minute. The house is very stylishly decorated with every amenity you might need. The beds were comfortable with very cosy bedding, the rooms are a good size. The kitchen had all appliances and a generously stocked pantry. There is light everywhere and amazing views of the river and surrounding marshes from every window. There is one window in particular in the dining room that felt like a picture frame as there was always a beautiful view through it. During the day we relaxed and played in the enormous garden (lots of great garden toys are provided) and watched the tide rising and falling and the many birds, bunnies and groundhogs. We sometimes ate a BBQ lunch on the impressive grill. Every evening we would enjoy stunning sunsets and some nights we sat out around the fire and had s’mores. And there is a disco room! We had some really fun family discos with my young son ‘entertaining’ us on the karaoke machine. Tom is an incredibly thoughtful and responsive host and answered my many questions quickly and helpfully. Staying here was honestly good for our souls and we would love to come back one day with a larger group for a celebration as it is the perfect place.”
This is our own historic home in the center of Bridgeton's vast, mostly Victorian historic district--largest in the state! We share it much like a traditional B&B, and are glad to accommodate a single guest or as many as 4-5 in any one family/friend group, providing complete overnight privacy in the one-flight-up 'Victorian' section and assuring a delicious breakfast at your preferred time of choice in the original 'farmhouse' section dining room in the morning. Come away for work and play!
“Flavia and Sandy were amazing hosts -- warm, welcoming, and wonderful to chat with. We had a wedding to attend in the next town over, and Sandy drove us there and then brought us back afterward, sharing the history of the town with us as we went. We used two of the bedrooms. The one bedroom has a mini-fridge, which was great for stowing cold drinks. They cooked us a *hearty* breakfast the next morning, with plenty of hot coffee! The rooms were homey and very clean, and the bathroom was sparkling. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. (We even left with a few parting gifts -- a wine holder and some bell peppers from their garden!) We really enjoyed getting to know them, and would most definitely stay there again if we are back in the area.”
