Family-friendly holiday rentals in Durham County

The view! Amazing! Thank you, Jeremy for accommodating my last minute reservation. House was so nice. Thanks for the firewood pile. I was able to enjoy building a fire in the fire pit and sitting out underneath the stars relaxing. The Christmas tree was an extra touch and a nice surprise. Enjoyed the stay a lot.

We had a wonderful stay at this iconic Durham home. It is a turn of the century Victorian, that has been renovated, but still embues that old world charm. The home is perfect for a large group - 6 bedrooms!

A great place to stay with family or friends! Super comfortable, cozy, clean, and peaceful. Lovely location on the lake, beautiful views. This was my first time using Air bnb and it was amazing. Michael was so helpful along the way and always responded to my messages even late at night. We had a delayed check in and Michael was very accommodating and patient with us and always so friendly. We will be staying there again for sure, and I highly recommend this place! Great first way to start using Air bnb :)

Dale hosted us for 6 months. We were dealing with a home fire and insurance, he was patient and extremely helpful throughout the whole process. Extremely responsive, kind, and understanding. We are very grateful to have been able to stay here. The location was wonderful. Proximity to grocery stores, restaurants, and I-40. Very convenient. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked. Book the stay!

This is a terrific spot; with an easy walk to Durham’s restaurant and shopping scene. The place is just as advertised, cozy, clean and well appointed. We had one little issue and it was solved right away with no hassle (much appreciated). I highly recommend John’s place if you’re coming g to this region.

Michael’s Airbnb in the Northgate park area of Durham was a great find. The house was fully stocked, very clean, and located in a peaceful established neighborhood, with the park and walking trails just a block away. Michael was incredibly easy to communicate with throughout our visit.

Emily was wonderful to work with. She was professional, responsive, and prompt to answer any questions throughout our stay. She was knowledgeable of the house and of Durham in general. She was very friendly and genuinely concerned that we had an enjoyable stay – just a great host! The home was spacious - it rained a lot during our stay, but there was plenty of room for everyone. The location is terrific – walkable to East Campus, Brightleaf, 9th Street, etc. The internet was good, and the fenced backyard with string lights is charming. Overall, the home was comfortable and welcoming – we look forward to visiting again!

Highly highly recommended! My family stayed for just over a week during Thanksgiving, and had an absolutely lovely stay. Julia’s house is so welcoming and perfect for our larger group. We especially appreciated being able to easily walk into the city center (the American Tobacco shopping/dining area is particularly cute and close by). The hosts were easy to communicate with and check-in was smooth. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing stay!

The cottage is just as it is shown, and yes, cozy is small, but I was very comfortable. Mary was very friendly and nice to talk with. I had two dogs with me and she let us have access to her large field so the dogs got a good run each day. My dogs also enjoyed meeting Mary's dog. I was there for a dog obedience trial at the nearby Kennel Club building and it was very nice to find this lising that was so close. When/if I go back for another dog show, I'll definitely try and stay here again.

We stayed here during our kids track meet. It was wonderful!!! The house was clean, felt homie, and had everything we needed. It had beautiful surroundings, quite private pool and my kids really enjoyed fishing in the pond! Ryan was very friendly. He answered all our questions ahead of time and gave great suggestions during our stay. Checking in and out was a breeze. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to town!!

Allen is a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. This is a great location and includes a one car garage (which was great as it snowed while we were here). I like that that the kitchen and living room are on the first floor and bedrooms are upstairs. This is a very quiet neighborhood.

Jenny and Peter are wonderful hosts, their property is quite special. We appreciated their hospitality; we plan on returning.

We have stayed at Christiane’s home before and it was an equally great stay this time. Clean, quiet and comfortable. They also put up a beautiful Christmas tree, which we really enjoyed as this was a holiday stay for us with our family that lives in that neighborhood. She was always responsive. I would definitely recommend this location and we will stay here again in the future.

Leslie’s home was ideal for art lovers. Beautiful art of all types. Decor was very nice and comfortable. Bed and linens very nice.

The condo was very clean and the owner had books and games and there was a TV in the bedroom and in the living room. The towels were thick and each person received two towels. The shower had a handheld showerhead, which was nice and the furniture was comfortable. The beds were a medium firm memory foam. The condo has been updated with new flooring and cabinets. I have stayed in other units in this condo so I really do like the area. None of these condos have supplied good cooking tools, and that makes it hard when you want to stay for longer periods of time. An instant pot and a slow cooker would really help if you plan on staying for a long time in any of these units. If it is important for you to park in the back, gated parking lot, especially if you’re staying for longer periods of time make sure you ask if that particular unit allows that. Being a temporary resident should enable parking in the gated area.

Winifred is a pleasure to work with. Her home is perfect for a weekend getaway or long stay.
