This countryside is wonderful. It's a prosperous, quiet, beautiful, sunny village with rice fields everywhere. Not to mention the frogs and birds. Narako's place is my last stop on my hiking trip and it's the perfect place to just chill. It rained on my first day of stay so I just walked around a little bit on foot, but the second day it was super sunny and Narako-san lent me her bicycle so I was so happy to ride it in the countryside. So happy! The place was a house where you have your own spacious bedroom, bathroom and everything you need. Narako and her husband live next door. The couple didn't speak English but nevertheless we were able to communicate. Highly recommend!

The location is on the countryside, so consider calling a taxi or arriving by car. Kei was very helpful, kind and personally showed me around the area. It is a very peaceful and quiet place and you can enjoy a hot bath in the evening. For a small fee you can also get your laundry done, so there is no need to look for a coin laundry. There is a shrine nearby, which made for nice photos. I was able to learn a lot about Awaji-shima and it became a memorable stay.

I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment I arrived, the host was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. The accommodation itself was clean, cozy, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect, allowing me to explore nearby attractions easily. What truly set this experience apart was my host, who went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable trip. They not only provided fantastic local recommendations but also took me to some hidden gems around the city that I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. From traditional eateries to stunning viewpoints, each outing was a delightful adventure. Overall, my stay was exceptional, thanks to the attentive and proactive host. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home while immersing yourself in true Japanese culture, this is the spot for you! Would definitely stay here again!

Plus qu'un airbnb, Kuchu est un véritable guide déterminé à ce que ces visiteurs puissent s'imprégner de la culture japonaise. On y découvre un Japon loin des grandes villes, en osmose avec la nature. Un véritable dépaysant, une incroyable expérience humaine.MERCI

We really enjoyed our stay here! The house is adorable and gives you a good feel of Japanese home life. It has everything you could need. It is very walkable to konbini and restaurants. The hikes and nature nearby are lovely. My son and I enjoyed the garden (fun for some no-too-tricky hide and seek!). Would definitely stay here again!

It was a nice, almost four storey apartment. The place is 20 mins away from the station. But it was a nice walk from the station if the weather is good. The view from the place is great. You can see the lake and the mountain. We love the nature the most.

merci à Mari pour ce sejour, c'était magnifique. la maison traditionnelle, l'environnement, le calme... sans compter la gentillesse de Mari, elle nous a fait voir ses poules et ses cultures 😀

We are a family of four (one child and one teenager) and we recently stayed one night with these wonderful hosts. We loved it all - foraging for dinner, helping prep, eating together. Was such a special evening. Card games after dinner was an added bonus that we all loved. Our bedroom was beautifully made up and Yoriko went to extra effort to make sure we were warm and would sleep well. We all loved our time with the hosts and will definitely aim to return - but this time for more than one night! Our youngest commented as he got into bed “I can’t believe we’ve only just met them today, they feel like family”. Many thanks again to you both, we feel very lucky to have stayed with you - a definite highlight of our travels. See you again soon!

凄く部屋があり各部屋ごとに色々な楽しみ方がありました！お父さんがヤギにずつかれましたが、イェーイみたいな感じで優しかったです！自分が走るとポニーも走ってくれて可愛かったです！また是非利用したいです！

Absolutely gorgeous place with very welcoming hosts. We had a great time and we were served delicious dinner and breakfast after we took a bike ride around the neighborhood to see the gorgeous local temples and vistas

Very lovely place, very friendly host. The kitchen had classical musical playing in the background, and the baths were very high-tech (auto-filling etc). Rooms were very spacious. Would love to stay here again!

Un seul regret : ne pas avoir eu le temps d'y passer une deuxième nuit. Notre hôte a été très prévenant, et sa guest house est à son image : élégante et charmante :-)

Can’t rate Ikuko & Michaels place highly enough! They were so helpful providing directions to get there and Michael even picked us up from the bus stop. Ikuko’s breakfasts were elite and they were both so lovely to chat to. The house is great and the surrounding area beautiful. Would return in a heartbeat!
