Holiday rentals with lake access in Lake Junaluska

This property was perfect for a winter getaway. The home is lovely, the neighborhood is charming and the surroundings are nature at its best. We like to prepare our own meals and the well equipped kitchen met all our expectations. The fireplace provided such a nice comfy feeling. Although it was not the right time of the year to indulge in spending time on the spacious porch, being so close to the river added to the peaceful mood created by the home's interior environment. We enjoyed the opportunity to take long walks in the surrounding area. And it was a plus to have any needed services close by. This would most certainly be a place we would consider revisiting.

This makes our second time staying at Amanda’s place. It has been such an ideal spot for my family while visiting our kids at WCU. I truly can’t say enough. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful neighborhood look no further! We love it!

The place is exactly as described. Very close to WCU and worked out great during move in day. Relaxing place to stay.

I am happy to leave an "A+/5-star" rating...this, from a former professor who knows all about grade inflation. From start to finish, the hosts were welcoming. The accommodation is exactly as described and lovely. What did NOT receive a 5-star rating was the fact that I got caught in the horrific hurricane that blasted through the area. That said, the house was secure with nary a leak and safely above any low-lying area. Even with no electricity or phone for 3 days (luckily the water stayed on and my hosts had left a supply of filtered water), the ability to sit on the front porch, read from various books, and even work a jigsaw puzzle by daylight meant the days went by rather uneventfully. In fact, it was not until I was able to evacuate that I learned of how destructive this storm has been. Thanks to Anna and her sisters for reaching out when they could, and bringing extra water just in case. I hope to return in better times and would be happy to stay here again.

This is a very cute and quiet place right on the river and very welcoming after a long day of hurricane clean up and volunteer work. Check in was very easy with a coded door lock. The entire place is very artsy and inviting. The fireplace was very cozy during the unusual cold spell. This property was well cleaned up but the road leading up still has a long way to go towards being cleared and multiple houses have damage and contents outside of the home. This beautiful area of Marshall was sadly quite damaged by the river surge. This should NOT dissuade anyone from staying here- once you pass that point, Billy’s place is wonderful, clean and you’ll enjoy the sounds of the river and the waterfowl passing by. We were honored to help the residents of WNC and plan to return in the future. We hope to see Marshall return to its former charm one day.

Wow, I am absolutely blown away! This was such an incredible stay! 🌿🏡 Kevin & Linda are the kindest, most caring, and genuinely loving hosts—you can tell their heart is in everything they do. 💛 The pups were precious, and their sweet old girl, Ruth Ann, even joined us on most of our hikes, which made the experience even more special. 🐾 The home was gorgeous, the bed was super comfy, and the WiFi was fast—but honestly, we LOVED having no service outside the house. It made the trip feel like a true reset from the outside world. And can we talk about that bath?! 😍 Omg, yes please. The hiking trails were incredible, the provided map was crystal clear (with extras just in case), and town was just 35 minutes away—super easy to find based on their directions. To top it all off, they even let us try some fresh farm eggs from their chickens, which was such a thoughtful touch. We’re heading home feeling refreshed, recharged, and overflowing with gratitude. 🥰 Already planning our next

Lynnette’s beautiful place was delightful! The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and everything was spotless. We felt so at home with the Christmas decorations and especially the welcoming pie. We hope to come back soon. Great location- close to everything!

We absolutely enjoyed your place! Sharon and Anna were excellent host and very supportive! The apartment lacked nothing! It was so peaceful and relaxing! We loved the trail around the whole lake and walked it each day! The location is very convenient to anything you would like to do in the mountains! Great location - a very short walk to the lakeside trail. We had everything we needed for our weekend stay. Alice and Philip were very responsive.

The space was bigger than we expected and works out really well for our needs. The host was very responsive and helpful. There is a 3 ring binder with all the info about the area.

This is a great spot for a family of four. The beds were comfortable. The space was big enough to spread out a little bit. The view from the deck is great as well. If you don't mind being 30 minutes away, this is a great place to stay while visiting Asheville. It's about an hour from Looking Glass Falls too. It's also a beautiful drive to the Tail of the Dragon from here. If you're coming from Raleigh this makes for a much shorter drive home after spending a day driving near the Dragon.

This was our second stay at Carolyn’s wonderful Airbnb, and it was just as perfect as the first! The lake views are absolutely stunning—peaceful, scenic, and the perfect getaway. Carolyn is a fantastic experienced host, thoughtful and welcoming. It felt like coming back home. Our dog got to join us, and he loved it just as much as we did! If you’re traveling with a dog, you can’t beat the accommodations of Carolyn‘s place. It’s so nice to find a place that’s both pet-friendly and convenient and nice and truly relaxing for humans. We can’t recommend Carolyn’s home high enough and will definitely be back again. Thank you, Carolyn, for another amazing visit!

We had an amazing time at loriel and Adam’s place. While the weather was windy/cold and we lost power for a few hours due to weather, the views were breathtaking. The house was only steps from a beautiful walking trail around the lake, and only minutes from shopping/restaurants in Waynesville. Even under these circumstances, loriel and Adam were very communicative. Highly recommend this place!

This was my second stay at the cottage. The house was as beautiful as it was the first time back in 2020. The kids loved going for a walk around the lake and talking to the farm animals from outside their pen. The WiFi was fast. I had no problems driving my Tesla around the property. The hosts were very responsive. This location has close access to the Biltmore, Blue Ridge Parkway, NC Arboretum, and a Tesla Supercharger.

This is our third stay. We love coming here. Love the house and location. Always pristine clean and quick to respond if anything comes up. Near all our favorite things to do.

This is absolutely the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. I love to fish and the pond didn’t disappoint, caught bass, catfish and bluegill, it was a blast. It was so quiet and we really enjoyed the space by the pond. The home was immaculate!! We are already planning another trip to go back.

The cottage is easy to find and has great access to the lake. We walked on the walking path every afternoon during our stay. The cottage has great amenities and is a great value. The location is within 5-10 minutes of almost all restaurants/shopping you could need during your stay. Highly recommend.

Ron and Debbie are wonderful. They always responded and went above and beyond. They make you feel so welcome. Homey little cottage feels like home and only five miles from town. Will definitely be back in the future.

Brian, David and I will defiantly come back to stay again. We love Lake Junaluska and your location is perfect for easily jumping over to downtown Waynesville, the lake or Maggie Valley. As I mentioned in our conversation, you guys did an amazing job with the renovation bringing this sweet little house back to something very special. We felt very much at home instantly and the directions you provided made the check in and out seamless. The house was very clean and I very much appreciated the little touches of items provided in the kitchen. I would also note, the little notes on how to use the fireplace and other items were tastefully done and left no room for questions. With two full living spaces on different levels, there was great privacy and yet it had the perfect living area to gather and eat together. Within walking distance to the lake, gift store, community pool and rec center, as well as a couple of restaurants. House had everything you will need to relax and enjoy your time away from home. Hosts were very communicative and thoughtful in their touches with snacks and candies (loved by the kids), as well as items for coffee and tea, as well as a hand written note. Highly recommend!
