Family-friendly holiday rentals in Port Alberni

Really enjoyed our stay, would happily stay again. Exactly the stay I was looking for, ocean front, could hear the waves, loved it. My son was so happy there was a hot tub! Comfortable beds and lots of space.

We had a lovely time. Doreen and Doug were extremely responsive and helpful even when the power unexpectedly went out during a storm. We would definitely come back the next time we are in Sechelt.

Wendy's place was awesome! My family had a great time staying here for a week in late March, and found the place to be very comfortable, spacious and well-appointed. It was really nice to have a fully-stocked kitchen - even niche items like a cake mixer and vegetable steamer were available (indeed - baking cakes and steaming broccoli are both things we are known to do while on holiday 🙂). My kids also loved playing with the cool toys in the treasure chest in the main room, and picking out new books to read as bedtime stories from the shelves in their room upstairs. I would highly recommend this as a great accommodation for families on a Vancouver Island holiday.

This was the perfect relaxing vacation for a quick Easter weekend getaway from Squamish! Lovely backyard where we hosted an Easter egg hunt for my son, wonderful hot tub with partial sun and shade & sounds of a trickling fountain, about a mile from the super-fun mountain bike / running / hiking trails in Elphinstone Provincial Park which we got to run and explore, and so close to many public beaches & Gumboots Cafe & Restaurant. Highly recommended to come stay here! It was toddler heaven with very quick & easy drives to lots of nice beaches!

What Gracious hosts Hans and Denise were. Hans kept to himself but I’m sure was responsible for lots of the preparations and planning that goes into these stays. They were polite and kind and generous in all aspects. Had a LOVELY time and will be back to visit Roberts creek in a heart beat. They allowed us to bring our furry companion and we were a 3 minute walk to beachfront access. Cant say enough good things about our stay.

We loved our stay at Alan and Gillian’s! We had both our cat and dog with us and they settled right in! It was very quiet and private, being nestled behind their house, and the hot tub right by the bnb entrance, which was enjoyed both nights! Peaceful neighbourhood, great for walks and friendly neighbours! We loved the boat ramp beach access a few minutes drive down the road and took our pup there both days. Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends!

Excellent place for a getaway. The bay window is lovely to sit and watch the deer and birds and the bathtub was perfect! Super easy check in and convenient location to explore the surrounding area.

We had a great stay at Jeni's. House was just as described and spacious with lots of room for outdoor activities as well. Also the beach 200m away was beautiful.

Large place, location is near amenities, easy drive to other areas, friendly hosts with clear and prompt communication. This is our go-to stay in Nanaimo.

What an absolute gem of an airbnb. We had our privacy the entire stay. Cabin was spacious and was spotlessly clean upon arrival. Well stocked kitchen with a comfortable living space. The backyard was spacious enough for our big dog and there are many trails close by. The fire pit with the lawn chairs allowed us to sit back and relax with a nice fire. This was a great getaway. I highly recommend Keitha’s Airbnb!

Our stay at this cabin delivered on all our dreams for a gulf island stay. This is a well loved and lived in home with character and shows off all the small touches that you might not expect from an air bnb. It has a spectacular garden that is clearly the work of many years of dedication and no photos will really do it justice. Across the garden are different seating arrangements that let you chase the sun no matter what time of day you want to go out and catch a few rays. Off the front deck is a very active hummingbird feeder and super comfortable chaise. The central bathroom is really just as spectacular as the pictures would have you believe: almost worth the stay all on its own. The kitchen is well stocked and has surprisingly well seasoned cast iron pans and a griddle that made leisurely morning pancake breakfasts just that much easier and more enjoyable. We hope we have the chance to stay again!

We were fortunate to be able to book with very little notice. The hosts were very accommodating and offered us an early check-in option. The location was very private and peaceful with farm animals nearby. Having a full kitchen was great. The enclosed outdoor yard was perfect for our dog. We would look into booking again in the future!

Our stay was all around Vancouver Island, but June's place was most definitely the best in all aspects! Firstly this location is beyond just good, - it literally drops your jaw when you encounter this ocean view right at the front yard, as you have a mountainview overlooking the wayer...it's truly amazing. Also the place itself was clean, functional and very cozy, giving you a sense of home even while traveling. Kitchen was full on ready as we needed to cook something in the evening and it worked out just perfect. Overall this was the best stay like I mentioned already,- quiet and beautiful accommodation. We had such a wonderful time on the sunny coast. Chantal and Alex went above and beyond to truly host us. We had so many thoughtful discoveries within the stay that we took note of. No spoilers; go and stay and experience for yourself! We really felt so comfortable and had every possible accommodation already thought of. Any questions we did have were entertained extensively. We even forgot an item and our hosts expedited finding it and getting it mailed to us! The location is quiet and the place is really private. We had everything we needed for a casual night in; lounging space and dining amenities, as well as entertainment galore! We also were close to trails and beaches as well as a nice central location for exploring. Ten outta ten would recommend staying here and we totally will again one day if we’re lucky enough to! Loved the view! Quiet, clean, very well equipped kitchen. The hot tub and pool right on the ocean was pretty amazing!

We’ve stayed at the Inn Of the Sea many time and been lucky to stay at both of Tammy’s condos. We come and go from the area all the time for work and it’s hard to go back to a hotel after discovering the condos.

What a gem! Monica's place was outstanding. Short walk to the beach and the common pool and hot tub were exactly as described and perfect for our family. The kitchen was stocked above and beyond with anything you might need for cooking, which we loved. This is often not the case in many AirBnB's so we were very happy about this. This place was quiet and cozy and we loved the community feeling of the resort. Monica was great with communicating quickly. We will definitely return.

Our party included 4 adults and two children. We stayed in the house for four nights. This is something which we do every summer, staying in different houses near Rathtrevor Provincial Park. We were happy with our rental this year (2024). We liked the fact that this complex includes a swimming pool. We also spent a lot of time at the beach. (We used the beach folding chairs which are available in the unit.) We also walked in the adjacent Rathtrevor Provincial Park. We also drove to some stores in town. The kitchen is well equipped. We used the BBQ for three of the dinners. It was useful that one of the bedrooms includes a desk. Sandy communicated with us (via the AirBnB app) several times. We had a great vacation. I should also mention that after we checked out we discovered that my granddaughter left a certain item behind. Sandy assured me that it will be mailed to us. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at Nicole’s. The house was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. It was a short walk to the beach and into town. Nicole frequently checked in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped and we made many meals there. We look forward to returning!

An awesome cottage with everything you need , great area, clean well equipped. We loved it!

We had a lovely time staying in Tammy’s home. It was really clean and very well stocked with everything we needed. She is very responsive and we were able to check in a bit early on our arrival. The bed is very comfortable and there is a lovely view of the water from the patio. We would definitely stay here again! The resort has a tennis court, lots of grills, one campfire pit, dock for crabbing or boats, beach for clamming. The property is very well kept. Thanks again Tammy for such a lovely stay!

Beautiful property. walking the beach, swimming at the pool, we enjoyed our stay. The accommodation were wonderful. (as described, spacious.) Hope to go again. Thank you Pat for the games and Beautiful kitchen, bedrooms ect.
