Villa Artemide, a newly built villa, is located in the municipality of Capoliveri, in the small, tranquil hamlet of Madonna Delle Grazie. Such a peaceful setting that in the 18th century, it was chosen as a refuge by Augustinian friars returning from the island of Montecristo. In recognition of the hospitality they received, they erected the sanctuary. Inside, there is a highly prized panel painting, the draft of which is said to have belonged to Michelangelo Buonarroti.
