“Davids place is really nice! It has everything you need. The kitchen is very well equiped and the bedroom and bathroom are spacious. The bedroom doesn't get very dark, but you can fix it by hanging a fleece blanket or towell on the curtain rails (or use a sleeping mask). David is very hospitable and check in/out went smoothly. He has great recommendations for restaurants and activities. The outdoor sun terrace is very nice. I definately recoomend this place!”

“Christian is a nice host. He personally greeted us and show us around the house. We had a comfortable stay at his house. It is very clean, kids-friendly - with beds made up for kids, has a baby chair and some children books. We also like the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable and adjustable beds, laundry facilities, a nice kitchen table for enjoying food with family and free parking near to the house entrance. Nurburgring is around 15 to 20 minutes away by car. Adenau (where you can find supermarkets and restaurants) is about 10 minutes away by car.”
The completely renovated half-timbered house is located in the courtyard of the old rectory in Kirmutscheid / Throws, just 5 minutes from the Nürburgring. The main house was built by Baron Gallen zu Assen for the priest in 1709 and borders directly on the church St. Wendelinus, which was built by Count Ulrich von Nürburg in 1214. The holiday home with approx. 50sqm of living space has been restored with great attention to detail and only renovated with natural building materials so as not to lose the pleasant room climate.
“We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful 300-year old house in the German countryside. It really is a perfect getaway from busy city life. And this house was as charming as it looks in the photos. The house was very clean, uncluttered and organized. The bedroom (i.e. second floor) was very spacious and airy. The bed was super comfortable and the duvet really lightweight and warm. The kitchen is very small, but sufficiently equipped with the basic things that you need, not to mention a little dishwasher, induction stovetop, microwave and fridge! The bottom floor is a modest room with a small dining table and only a small loveseat (2 seater). This didn’t bother us because the comfortable bed more than made up for it. Our favorite things were the heated floor and the small wood-burning stove. We used it every night. Loved that we could roast marshmallows and warm our food with it. A really fun perk! The surroundings were very charming. 3 friendly horses, a chicken coop, an old horse stable, and of course, the old church next to the house. We did hikes every day, which was very easy from this location. The hosts (Karin and Martin) were very accommodating and responsive to questions and needs. We especially loved their recommendation on where to eat. Be sure you dine at the “Cafe Wein und Bierstube Feye Haus” (a 5 minute drive away). It serves a simple menu of delicious German food in the most authentic and quirky old German house. The schnitzel and house-made apple streudel were outstanding. We LOVED this spot and were grateful for the recommendation! Note that it’s only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And you must make reservations ahead of time! All in all, this vacation was perfect for what we wanted: A quiet and peaceful getaway in the German countryside that was authentic in every way.”
