Genêts is a quaint little village typical of the area with it's old stone houses that date back many hundreds of years. It's peaceful and situated in the bay with fantastic views on the Mont Saint-Michel and Tombelaine, a bird reserve. It's very picturesque and there are plenty of walks around. The salt marshes ("les grèves") are home to many species of bird and of course the famous sheep of the Bay of Mont Saint Michel ("moutons de pré-salé"). We are lucky to have some very good restaurants in the village : - "La Pause des Genêts" run by a fun couple offers original and delicious dishes in a cosy setting. - "Le Petit Navire" run by a lovely couple serves excellent traditional local meals. - "Chez François" cooks his local meat in the chimney in front of you in a traditional yet slightly atypical ambiance. - We can also recommend other good restaurants nearby so don't hesitate to ask us. There is also a bakery a few steps away for fresh bread, yummy pastries and home made ice cream in summer and a friendly small convenient store with ATM machine. The village has a river, a water mill, a 12th century church with a lovely garden and the famous guided walks across the bay of the Mont Saint Michel which leave from the beach at Bec d'Andaine or from the nearby village of Saint Léonard. There are more restaurants, bars, cafes, stores, large supermarkets and an organic food shop in Avranches (15 minutes drive) and Granville (25 minutes drive). For recommendations on things to see and do in the area, check out our map or ask us.
  • This is a wonderful, spacious, well appointed home that would be either a great base from which to explore the region or to enjoy a quiet retreat from a busy day-to-day. There is a small but effective market and a few nice restaurants in easy walking distance. Parking is easy too. We toured both St. Malo and Mont St. Michel during our short visit and ate at Chez Francois for food cooked over an open fire (recommend the thicker cuts of meat, they hold up better to the heat). This was a fantastic experience! We also had French pizza at Le Brulot which was delicious. Perhaps the best part were our hosts. They were fantastic to us during the entire trip starting well before we arrived. They were great communicators prior to our arrival and met us arriving and leaving so everything was simple. They were always available for questions from some first time visitors to France. We'd have been lost without some of their advice. We will definitely come back if we get the chance. Genet and this property were both fantastic.

  • Great central place for both Normandy and Mont St Michel. Restaurant over the road was great. Luke was super helpful with everything we needed.

  • Nice, little Cottage, enjoyed our stay very much. Very nice and welcoming hostes. Thanks.

  • Had a real lovely week-long stay at Le Petit Pluvier. We were welcomed by both Luke and Claire and received a wealth of "insider tips" on what to see\eat\visit\experience, much of which we had not heard about beforehand. And although there is more than enough to take in throughout the surrounding area, the cottage was so cozy and quiet that we took a day out from sightseeing just to sit and read in front of the fireplace with a couple bottles of wine. The cottage offers everything needed, and I don't think a month would be enough to see everything on offer in the area. We certainly did not get to experience everything we wanted to, and we will, without a doubt, be returning to Le Petit Pluvier sometime in the near future. Many thanks to you both!

  • Luke greeted us at the gite. He had lots of helpful information about area and special things to go and explore. His knowledge and advice was very welcome. The home was even better than we'd hoped. Clean and modern in an historic building and village. A great base for exploring Mont San Michel area. We enjoyed viewing the tides from high to low in several areas that Luke directed us to. It was a relaxed village across the bay from the Mont very authentic and away from the crowds while an easy drive the day we went to visit the Abbey. Wonderful restaurant literally across the street. The boulangerie a short walk down the road was a great place to get morning treats. I would recommend this gite without reservation as a wonderful spot for exploring Southern Normandy.

  • Clean, nice location, quiet, perfect restaurant across the street.

  • The cottage was just as described - charming, comfortable, and well-equipped. The maps and recommended restaurant and sightseeing locations were handy, and Chez Francois was a great experience! Definitely come handy. In case you get there late on a Sunday like we did, the boulangerie sells wine - fabulous! The fireplace draws like a champ, and I appreciated having plenty of wood on hand. Comfy bed, plenty of hot water, and small-town charm - all in all, just a lovely getaway from Paris. I'll be back!

  • Fun & cute cottage with a peaceful private garden just a 10 second stroll away. Luke couldn't have been more friendly, even after having to wait on our late arrival, giving us so many awesome inside tips on where to go and what to do. In fact we're planning to come back in the future to take advantage of a few more of his tips. The local bakery also had the best croissants of our trip, and the view across the bay to Mont Saint-Michel couldn't be beat. ps. You will definitely need a car to get here

  • Annie was the perfect host - sweet, friendly, very quick to respond to all communication and the listing was exactly as described. We couldn't have anticipated quite how charming this place would be and how much we would enjoy our stay there - it felt a complete world away from our day to day lives and we would have definitely enjoyed staying for longer.

  • Annie is amazing. The place is amazing. The fruit in the garden is amazing. The sweet little house is amazing. A wonderful (short) holiday we had here. Some really nice stories we heard from Annie. If you're looking for a quite, natural, relaxed place in Normandie close to the sea; this is the place to be!

  • Last weekend my boyfriend and I stayed with Annie Aubrun. We were sleeping in her little chapel in the beautifull green garden. The room is small and simple, but the environment and the fireplace made the experience romantic. Although we had a little bit trouble understanding each other, Annie Aubrun made us feel welcome. It's a perfect place to relax, be away from the daily routine and enjoy your company.

  • It was a wonderful experience to meet and stay with Annie at her renovated medieval farm. The house, the huge flowering garden, it all has such a nice energy we could feel all around. Annie is a yogateacher from 84 years old. She is still very energetic. She now organises all kind of workshops and retreats in Maison Mia. The rooms are simple but comfortable. We could also stay in the little house in the garden which has a special atmosphere with the fireplace where you can lit a fire. We preferred to stay in the house and we had a great sleep. It was so nice to have our breakfast in the garden and talk with some other guests. Absolutely an unforgettable experience and we sure will come again.

  • We lived in Annies little stonehouse in the middle of a wonderfull garden. It is a very cozy and private place. In almost every night we made a fire in the fireplace. The bathrooms are in the mainhouse and are light and nice. The big old kitchen in the mainhouse invites to come together and we had a lot of fun. Annie is a wonderfull host. We felt so much at home there! This place has a quaint and peacefull atmosphere and it was hard for us to leave...

  • It was an absolute pleasure to stay with Annie for a night. The outhouse room was prepared beautifully with a fire already made. She gave us some bread for dinner and was extremely helpful. It has to be the most romantic room I have ever stayed at. I highly recommend it. :)

  • We loved staying at Annie's place. It's a place where you can relax, recover and find yourself again.

  • Annie is a wonderful person and a wonderful host. We stayed in the little house in the garden and enjoyed our fire every night. Her house and her garden are very beautiful and romantic! I totally recommend a stay for everyone who loves natures and and the simple normandie country life!

This cozy studio, next to our home is closed to the down town and the train station. Dol is ideally located between Mont St Michel, Dinan, Cancale and St-Malo : it is an ideal starting point to visit the region, the main tourist sites are about 20/25 mn away It's next to the sea ( 7 km)! The walls of the house being very thick, the studio is perfectly isolated phonically. The bedding 2 people is new. In Dol, you will find supermarkets, crêperies and restaurants.
195 POSITIVE COMMENTS ! Private access for the guest. The studio can host 2 adults and 1 or 2 children. The bed on the mezzanine is small and is better for children or teenagers (see photos). New quality bedding, beds made on arrival, towels and tea towels provided. There is no kitchen but fridge, hotplates, mini oven, microwave and coffee maker are at your exclusive disposal. Your dishes will be washed by me. You can use the garden and garden furniture. There is a place to park your car.
It's close to the down town (10min walk).
  • Pascale and family were helpful, very welcoming and made our stay very cosy. The studio is great - clean, well appointed and very private. We would definitely stay again if in the area again. Many thanks Pascale

  • Pascale was a very good hostess. She greeted us with a delicious cake of her own cooking and the next day she treated us to traditional french crepes. The house was just as described - very small but homy, with everything we needed, clean and nicely decorated. Since we liked to cook, Pascale offered to clean our dishes in her dishwasher, which was very kind of her. Since we traveled by car, Pascale let us keep the car in the yard in front of the house. The garden with flowers and trees in blossom was a real joy. We enjoyed our short stay at Sweet Home in Dol de Bretagne.

  • This is a quiet apartment in a beautiful garden with superb hosts. The apartment was spotless, well furbished and Pascale provides you with everything you need. This is a great place to use as a base to explore the fascinating cities and scenery of Brittany and Normandie.

  • Pascale and Jean Luc are excellent hosts caring for the well-being of their guests by giving lifts to and from the station plus tasty treats left for us on most days. The accommodation is comfortable and sunny with a great view to the beautiful garden. It is an easy walk to Dol with good public transport links to main sightseeing places in the area. Brittany weather can be cool and rainy but this means the countryside is green and attractive.

  • Pascale was a great host - she was very welcoming when we arrived, and gave lots of useful advice about the local area and places to visit. We particularly liked the delicious crepes and other desserts! The apartment was great - very clean and comfortable, and exactly as the photographs show. We would recommend it very highly. Thanks again Pascale!

  • Pascale was great ! She took me to Mont Dol ! @ Thank you.

  • Pascale and her husband were really friendly and made us feel at home. The studio was really clean and the nights were very quiet. Pascale was very helpful with all the things we could do around even some great trail to do with young children. She was also very kind to welcome us with crepes, jam and chocolate dessert. The location is very good. We were very close from Mount St Michel, Cancale and Saint Malo.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dol-de-Bretagne. Pascale and Jean-Luc were wonderfully friendly and helpful hosts. The house is perfectly situated in a quiet area, within walking distance of the charming Old Town and grand Cathedral, as well as being in close proximity to du Mont Saint Michel. We thank Pascale and Jean-Luc for their warm hospitality.

The "Blue room" is a nice bedroom with view on the sea in a 1900 villa registered on national historical building list. Breakfast included and bicycle available to visit the area.
The "chambre bleu" is one of the three room we got on airbnb. Our villa is an original place, built in 1868 for a famous french compositor Auber director of the Paris opera. it have been a casino before to be modified in 1903 as a private "art nouveau villa" Habited since 1968 by an artist family it's a cross over of modern style architecture, contemporary art, vintage bicycles and home made marmelade. As we always like got friends at home to share with us this lovely place, we use to got people at home, we have decided to get some of our bedrooms available to Airbnb. We got tree rooms available don't forget to check the two other room if this one is not free for your date or if you need more than one room. Please look at the pictures and comments. Expect to leave in an old huge house. About comfort : bathroom, kitchen, etc...are a bit rustic or we could say authentic I let you see... The bedroom got a good double bed and a very nice view on the sea. The villa is in front of the sea, you have just to walk few steps to walk on the beach. in the same time we are very close of all the shops, restaurants, and services. If you got a car you can park it in streets around the house. We can also afford you some bicycles to ride the area. If you come from Caen by public transportation the line bus is Twisto 61, time of transportation 45 mn. As Dauville and Cabourg Lion sur Mer is one of the first "station balnéaire" built in the 19eme century, the seafront of Llion sur Mer / Hermanville is welknown for it's villa's build beween 1860 and 1914 (brochure itinéraire du patrimoine n°125) Activity : you got a tennis club, few nautic clubs, some thalasso and a lot of museums and sites about the D-Day to visit in the region. My advice is first to enjoy the beach, country side and the local specialties, seafoods, the fishes, fresh cream and for that we got some good adresss. BREAKFAST, BICYCLES, SHEETS and TOWELS included !
Calm ! We are in a little village on the sea, with all usefiull stores and restaurants in a few metters area. Sea and a huge beach are just in front of us. countryside and fields just on our back. Our part of the normandy coast is still very calm with nice huge villas from the 19th century on the seafront, it’s just a bit more busy during summer holidays (14 july / 15 august) with the bastille day fireworks, week end’s flee markets etc...
  • Jasmin is an impeccably gracious and wonderful host. My stay at Villa Louis was even better than I had hoped. From the beautiful and eclectic decor inside the villa to the incomparable lovely and peaceful scenery outside of the villa, this experience was one of my favorites of all my Airbnb stays. Breakfast was delicious (the butter! the fresh-squeezed orange juice! the bread!) and conversations with Jasmin made the time fly. Wish I could have spent another week there! Waking up on the ocean was a dream, and the tiny village of Lion sur Mer was delightful. I highly recommend lodging here if you enjoy having a local flavor to your traveling rather than a bland hotel experience. I stayed at Jasmin's for two nights and found it quite good as a home base for my tour of the nearby D-Day sites.

  • Jasmin is an excellent host and wonderful cook. The villa is impressive, but as the other reviews note, it is an old home and not lived in all the time, so it could use some care. Overall though we had a wonderful stay and it is a good jumping off point for seeing the D Day sights. If you are British or Canadian, obviously this is an excellent location on Sword beach. If you are arriving by train to Caen or Bayeux, then you might be best served to rent a car as a taxi to the villa will cost upwards of 60 euro and you will need a car to do most things along the coast.

  • Great villa and and Jasmin is an amazing host! When we went out for a late dinner in Lion-sur-mer, we learned that all kitchens in nearby restaurants were closed already (22:00). Jasmin offered to make us something. The breakfast with a sea view was amazing too. Jasmin stayed up late to make us a lemon pie!

  • An interesting and eclectic decor. Slightly eccentic mix hosted by Jasmin who was hospitable and informative. Very comfortable bed. Would stay again.

  • Jasmin Villa is one of the most special places I've ever been. The view is extra ordinary. So is Jasmin. Would strongly recommend it.

  • Jasmin was a wonderful host! We had some trouble with directions and arrived a couple hours later than expected. He was understanding and welcoming, and he had a bottle of cider waiting for us on our balcony overlooking the sea. His house is very unique and eclectic. This was the best airbnb experience I have had thus far. This house is full of culture and interesting pieces. The breakfast was so delicious!!! We wish we could have stayed longer than one night, and we would definitely go back. Jasmin also has an adorable dog named Vip and a cute kitten!

  • Staying for a week at the Villa on the Sea was a remarkable experience. The turn of the century home is very much as it was. You feel like you have stepped back to a very special time. The home has original art work and it’s full of eclectic furnishings. You will not find a sleek modern décor but everything you need is provided. The view of the sea outside your patio door is unbelievable. It’s memorizing watching the tide come in and out with the gentle force of the moon. It’s enchanting to say the least. You are steps away from a path along the sea that runs for miles. The small village provides your needs with bakeries, grocery, and restaurants. Your host, Jasmin, could not be kinder. Every morning he interacts with the guests and we had the pleasure to share a couple of dinners with him too. He provides history, news, advice on activities, and makes you feel welcome. He was always available. Jasmin, you are the best.

  • Amazing view, amazing house and an even more amazing host! We loved our stay at Jasmin's home and would recommend to anyone. Unfortunately the weather wasn't so great during our stay but that did not matter at all. Jasmin made sure we were armed with all the local tips to keep us entertained for the duration of our trip. We also had the unexpected treat of having a little kitten keep us company when the rain was pouring. Thanks so much for everything and we were seriously craving some of your lovely chocolate cake after we left. best wishes Jenn and Jurij

Little cottage completely renovated. Living room with a fireplace and fully equipped kitchen. At the 1st floor, attic bedroom and bathroom. Terrace, large open garden and orchard with sheeps in front of the windows. Around : the village and Nature!
On the ground floor, living room with the fireplace, 2 sofa-beds for casual use or for a child. Fully equipped kitchen: electric oven, microwave, electric cooker, Nespresso coffee machine. The cottage 1st floor is a renovated attic. In the bedroom there is a king size bed. Sink, shower and a separate toilet are also on the 1st floor.
  • This cottage is a dream come true. It is like waking up in a storybook. The garden and grounds are beautiful, and the sheep are both entertaining and picturesque. Frédérique was attentive, caring, offered many suggestions of activities, and was very welcoming. The cottage itself is quaint, met all of our needs, and was fabulously comfortable. It was a true gift to be able to spend a few days here on our honeymoon and we would recommend it to anyone!

  • This cottage in Guernanville is as charming as it looks in the pictures. There is a cozy living area with fireplace, and a well appointed kitchen. Frederique and her husband are wonderful hosts. They had already put some supplies in the fridge for us: bread, butter , milk, jams, and home made cider. What a treat. Their property is beautiful and tranquil but on a road that easily leads to major connectors for touring. Frederique has some tourist info in the cottage, and gave us some great ideas about what to do locally. We had great stay and would love to return someday.

  • Frédérique was very kind and welcoming; she even gave us a delicious bottle of homemade cider from her own trees. I had a lot of good cider while in France, but hers was the best! The chaumière was absolutely charming and beautiful with a lovely updated interior. We had a wonderful stay and only wish it could've been longer!

  • Staying at Frédérique's was a wonder: welcomed with cider and "pains au lait" we stayed in her chaumière for what, with hindsight, were two exceptional days. The house was perfectly cleaned at arrival, the fire place is a gem at night time, and the reality of it is exactly as "advertised" on the airbnb pictures. Finally Frédérique has been the most helpful host. Thank you very much!!

  • Sadly we had to leave early because of technical problems. Still the house and it's surroundings are lovely and Frédérique is a helpfull and nice host. We would have loved to stay longer!

  • Words cannot express how unbelievably magical this place is. If it's available, book it now. The house is comfortable and inviting. Kitchen is absolutely gorgeous--fully equipped, spacious and you've got a wonderful view of the sheep from the window. The bedroom and upstairs of the house are meticulously well though out. You can shower under the clear Normandy sky by simply opening the window above the shower. THE bedroom feels like a fortress with the wooden ceiling beams and the smell of nature wafting through the windows. But the exterior of the home is where the real magic is. We enjoyed the most beautiful starry skies I've ever seen in my life at night. Frederique and Philip have really went above and beyond by providing everything. There's lounge chairs, two bikes, the best tasting fresh churned butter, bread, soap, a hair dryer, fresh towels, fresh jam and fresh organic cider from their farm. Please, please stay here. It is perfection.

A contemporary wooden house of 155m² (4 bedrooms), at the entrance of the Perche, quiet, less than 1h30 from Paris. Spa, trampoline, billiards, home cinema ... everything is gathered to spend pleasant moments with family or friends.
Looking for a new, contemporary house, with complete and modern equipment. We propose you our home in framework of wood, with roofs-terraces. Built in 2008, you will benefit from 4 rooms (with double beds), ideal for 8 people. 2 extra double beds (convertible in the living room and mezzanine) and a single bed carry capacity to 13 people. The house, on a closed and raised ground of 1500m ², is located in a small place at the entrance of the Natural Park of Perche, less than an hour and a half from Paris, between Chartres and Nogent-le-Rotrou. Equipment, such as raclette machines, plancha, deep fryer, robot, iron, hair dryer .... can be ready by reservation and in exchange for a deposit.
The house is located in a small quiet place near Montigny-le-Chartif, between Illiers-Combray and Brou, each about 10km (all shops in these 2 villages). We ask our holidaymakers to avoid the noise and the music too strong after midnight.
  • The house was amazing. We went there with 5 friends and had a great time. Great facilities: barbecue, nearby supermarket, a decent kitchen and a very refreshing shower. The photos are a good indication of what the house looks like. The jacuzzi and terraces are pluses of the house. Both Nathalie and Sebastien were very easy to reach. Thanks a lot!

  • Very nice and spacious house. The location is quite remote but this is a nice way to escape the busy life of towns and cities. The hot-tub is a very nice addition and is very well maintained. There are some lovely bakeries with great bread and croissants etc. in Brou which is only 7kms away. There was also an amazing market in Brou on the Wednesday of our four night stay. Great location (if you have a car) from which to visit the lovely towns of Chartres, Vendôme, Tours, Châteaudon and Orléans. Vanessa is very nice and very helpful hostess.

  • Sebastien was easy to talk to and was very helpful in solving some problems that were encountered along the way. When booking I had missed that we needed to supply our own bed linens ans towels, and Sebastian was very kind in providing those to us. The house itself is really modern, well furnished, and very clean. All appliances worked perfectly, and we had manuals on how to operate everything prepared for us, so the experience was very easy. Location is very quiet and the motorway that seemed quite near on a map is actually quite far and behind trees so you don`t see or hear it at all. Also nearby there are plenty of towns to get fresh bread and fruit. The garden is also lovely as it has trees to walk among and that give you a real private feeling all the while having plenty of space to enjoy the lovely outside seating area and the jacuzzi. One aspect that we did not expect but which was a pleasant surprise was the huge terrace that was perfect for morning exercises in the sun, all while enjoying a lovely view of the nearby fields.

  •  The house was really nice, very clean and equipped with all we needed. I would (and have) absolutely recommend this place for other families and groups.

  • Great place, according to expectations

In the middle of pines and bamboos, an accommodation, fully equipped, independent, cheerful and bright with its terrace, in only 100m of the beautiful sandy beach. Shops, and activities (golf, horse racing, sailing, ...) within walking distance.
  • Very much enjoyed our stay in this quirky and charming b&b; warm, comfortable, close to amenities and the sea. The hosts were exceptionally kind and thoughtful and I would recommend this place without hesitation.

  • Catherine and Jacques are 2 lovely people made to do this. They have build an amazing cute studio in a beautiful part of France, living between bamboo and the see. Never thought we could be surrounded by so much green on a small plot in an residential area. Nice to see how they run the bnb and and live themselves very close and aware of nature. To come back again, welcome in Belgium and warm grtz from Derrek and Karine

  • We stayed at Catherine's beach house cabana for 2 nights in late September and it was the most incredible experience. Their welcoming was one that we will never forget. They made us feel very much at home the entire time while permitting us to have our own space and privacy. The cabana is absolutely delightful and cozy. We had no idea that Coutainville was such a cool funky place and it feels very much like So Cal did 30 years ago....her partner Jacques and their daughter are amazing creative people and they have made their place a must stay for lower Normandy.... merci pour un temps fantastique !

  • Where to start. Catherine and Jaques are the honest-to-goodness best sort of people on earth. They are full of overflowing life, and eager to share it with their guests. Staying with them is a destination in and of itself. I cannot recommend their home highly enough - and I have no words for their warmth and hospitality as human beings.

  • Catherine and Jacques are wonderful hosts. They were very accomdating and welcoming. They have made a beautiful place for a stay. It's so close to the beach and to shops if you need them. There is also a great market twice a week for produce.

  • A wonderful welcome in a wonderful place. So nice to meet Catherine and Jacques, very interesting and kind people. Our stay was perfect if only we could have had longer. They went out of their way to be welcoming and the flag-pole was magical- very funny! A lovely, comfortable apartment -with a lovely patio area. We would never have found La Cave without them and the view was stunning! Thank you

  • Best airbnb experience EVER! We stayed a night at Catherine and Jacques lovely flat on a last-minute whim, and it ended up being the highlight of our entire vacation. This couple greeted us with incredible warmth and exuberance into their home, gave us some odds and ends to cook with and even a dozen oysters fresh off the beach! The flat is bright and colourful, is environmentally self-sufficient (with solar panels and recycled rain water) and filled with Jacques' beautiful art. The beach was a stone's throw away, and the town is delightfully undiscovered by the tourist hordes. Thank you, Jacques and Catherine, for that breath of fresh sea air. :) Much love xo

  • We felt incredibly welcome at Catherine's place! The little apartment/house was so nicely decorated and very comfortable and clean. They welcomed us warmly and even put out an American flag in honor of our visit which was a sweet touch. Our only regret was that we didn't to stay here longer. Agon-Coutainville is a cute town and this location is perfect. The hosts were thoughtful and kind.

  • Lovely place in a very nice town. Ideal location for us, a few minutes drive from the centre of the city, with a bakery and supermarket within 3 minutes walk. Really nice studio with a good bathroom and very useful kitchenette. Very cure with all the lighting, giving a cozy feel for sure. Nathalie and her partner were very welcoming to us, even helping get our car parked off street which was really appreciated.

  • The welcome was very friendly. It was small, but in a very cosy way. And very clean. Perfect for a short stay in Caen.

  • Wow, this is a rare find. Nathalie and Sebastiens place is definitely one of my top ten airbnb experiences. Nathalie is one of the nicest hosts I've ever had! I had to get a package delivered and Nathalie was incredibly helpful working out all the details! The space is also beautiful- you get your own private space and it is incredibly comfortable. Considering coming back to Caen just to stay here again.

  • We stayed for one night with Nathalie & Sebastien. They made us feel very welcome and the room was clean and comfortable.

  • Best airbnb apartment I've been since now.

  • The apartment was great and charming!!! An ideal place for know this part of normadia ... And very quiet too! Nathalie answers quickly - this is very important to me, and I had no problem with the Wifi - another important point for we. Nathalie is a great hostess and friendly!

  • We enjoyed our stay at this cosy studette very much. The neighborhood was quiet and as the inside temperature was not too hot even in July we got a good night's sleep here. We were positively surprised that we got to settle in already in the morning the day we arrived and the reception was very welcoming. I can strongly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet place to stay in a residential area as long as you don't mind it being about 20 min. walk from the city center (35 min. from the train/bus station). There is also a bus connection which we never tried as we preferred walking. Close by there was a small grocery store but not many other services so if you are planning on staying late in a bar, this might not be for you. But we loved the place! Merci, on a passé quelques jours agréables en Normandie et dans cette studette. On aimerais bien revenir un jour!

  • Nathalie was a very welcoming host who went the extra mile to make us feel at home. When we first arrived to Caen, Nathalie offered to pick us up from the train station. We stayed in a separate mini-apartment which was very comfortable, with many amenities. It's a bit of a walk to the city center, which was no problem because Caen is very beautiful. Nathalie dropped us off the train station on the day we were leaving, helped us plan our day to visit Omaha Beach, and even let us keep our bags at her place after we checked out, so that we can spend our day without our bags. She is very nice to talk to, and we will definitely try to book here again if we visit Caen once again. Thank you Nathalie!

  • This penthouse makes you feel like you are perched over the roofs of Honfleur. I could listen to the bells forever. Even though you are in the center of historic and touristic area of Honfleur (which is why I chose this apartment in the first place) it is very quiet at night. We were only there for one night. I know Honfleur very well and I just wanted to show it to my partner. Helene is a great hostess, very attentive. We were very lucky to get a free parking space right outside the door. If not, you have to park a little far. You need to be aware too that the streets are with cobblestones and suitcases with rollers is a little hectic.

  • Hélène was a super host & we thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay.

  • Beautiful, clean, peaceful studio. The bed was very comfortable. I highly suggest this rental. He'lene was a perfect host in a beautiful city.

  • Wow, location, location, location. But more a friendly host, a comfortable and lovely studio, right in the heart of Honfleur. Superb. Tip....use Helene's suggestions for local restaurants, cafes and wine bars.

  • Nice studio in a beautiful village. Just perfect!

  • Helene's apartment was better than the charming photo as it didn't express the comfort of the rooms, convenience of the location and lovely views of the square and the bay in the distance. Parking was easy, either on the street when available or a not to long walk from a free parking area. We had the most fabulously fresh housemade jam and found the kitchen very happy to support a chef, myself, who wanted to purchase fish at the market and prepare it. Helene is a warm and charming, thougthful host as well. We hope to return!

  • This apartment is perfectly located and well appointed. Honfleur is a charming city, and Helene was a gracious host. She gave us restaurant recommendations, told us where to park for free, and informed us of a flea market the next day (that was right below our window). We highly recommend this place!

  • My aunt and i had a great night staying over at helene's lovely studio , she was super helpful and very friendly , our only problem was we didn't have more time to stay in honfleur to enjoy everything on offer .... and to chat more with helene about history of her region ... Next time I go back to honfleur it will be for longer and I will definitely stay again with helene ! An awesome host !

  • Great little room in a lovely street a stones throw away from all amenities. Very well equip with all thing you need for a few days. The host was very nice and gave us tips on restaurants, bars the area and walks, which we did every day. We would stay there again when back in Normandy.

  • Great location! Comfortable, clean, and wonderfully decorated.

  • Love this place, the host was super friendly, spoke English which was great for my husband. He gave us great info about the town, resto etc... very dedicated to make you enjoy your stay. His place was very nicely decorated, very comfy bed! The cat even came to our door to greet us! Very close to everything. What an amazing little town. Wish we could have stayed longer! Merci encore!

  • Nice room and hosts! Very clean and nice place! Thanks

  • Everything you could want in Honfleur, a cosy, romantic place

  • This was a pleasant studio flat.We were only staying for three nights so it was just right. Everything we needed was there but please be aware there was not cooker apart from a microwave and no washing machine which is stated in their description. Also there is no hanging space apart from a coat stand. This property is well situated it was great for us as we had friends staying in a B&B so we could meet at ours for pre-drinks. We did not meet Typhaine and Valentin until the day we left but communication was good. I would recommend this studio for short stays for two.

  • Beautiful apartment, perfect location and a helpful and welcoming host. We would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Valentin met us promptly when we arrived. The apartment was clean, stocked and comfortable. His dinner recommendation (Le Breard) was fantastic. We enjoyed their 2 kitties that let themselves in thfrough the shower window to visit. Wish we would have had more time to enjoy this cute town -- if we're back in this part of France, we'd like to stay here again.

  • I live in Paris and myself and a bunch of friends rented the Chateau for 8 nights. We had an amazing time! The property is beautiful and so is the Chateau. The Salle de Chasse is incredible! We enjoyed our stay very much. Monsieur Levesque is so nice and helpful and he was very quick to respond to issues we had. The bicycles were in good condition and we enjoyed riding around the countryside. There was plenty of wood to make fires (the barn is not heated. You must build a fire). The beds are INCREDIBLY comfortable. The BBQ is large and very nice, easy to cook for large groups on. A few notes for future renters: The guest house is not private or secure. There is a man that lives in the other half and his part is connected by doors in the bedroom that do not lock. He told us that he walks through the guest house to get in our out of his apartment. Because of this, we decided not to use the guest house. There is no privacy and your belongings would not be secure. Also, "full access" isn't quite correct. The main room in the Barn we were only allowed to walk through. We could not access the bar, the mezzanine art gallery, or the sound system/projector which are there. The pool was also closed, despite it being indoors and heated. I hope in the future with more constant bookings, they will keep it open year round. Also, the bathroom in the barn was locked so we had to walk all the way to the house each time. This was a big inconvenience, but we managed. In conclusion, our stay at the Chateau was still excellent. We recommend this to everyone. Our group will be back again soon, hopefully! I hope you enjoy your stay at Miserai as much as we did! :)

  • Whilst we never met Dominique (who lives half a world away), his brother Christian was very welcoming and helpful. The Chateau provided an excellent place for us and our 15 guests to celebrate a Birthday. We had an excellent and enjoyable week. Christian helped us organise caterers who were excellent and not very expensive, and kept us supplied with Wine and Cider. The Hunt room with its pool table provides an excellent place for socialising after dinner.

  • Chateau de Miserai is a treasure to be preserved and it was a privilege to stay there. Dominique's brother, Christian, received us warmly and was an absolute gentleman. The house and grounds are as described in the physical sense, but the atmosphere of rural French country life that visitors will experience is not so easy to capture in words. I heartily recommend the Chateau for any event, big or small.

  • The chateau is grand and spacious, with lovely sunsets, plenty of grounds and peace and quiet. It happily absorbs a big party or family and has good bathrooms and showers. The nearby lake with canoes is a great attraction.

  • Christian who is Dominique's brother welcomed us with open arms. We had a total of 28 stay for a week. We rented the entire Chateau including the Guest House and the Mill plus the Hunt Room. The Wedding was on the Friday and Christian was very helpful in helping us arraigning the final touches. The Chateau is beyond belief and we highly recommend it. There is nothing negative we can say about the accommodations. The dinning room held all of us and Christian went out of his way to help set it up. Christian even went out and purchased enough wine and champagne glasses in order to complete the table setting. I cannot say enough about the experience in this limited space except if you want to have a family reunion or a function like a wedding this is a must rent. Thank you Dominique and Christian for a true "Life Memory" William and Salome

  • Christian gave us a warm welcome, he explained everything very well and patiently. They have had a few bicycles and fishing poles there, but we didn´t use them, fishing is possible nearby. It was quite cold in march, so we had to book the option for heating for 75 euros a day. That was no surprise, beause the chateau is expensive to heat and in march we heat in germany, too. The Chateau is like an amiable and authentic old lady, you have to appreciate :-). It is hoary, but in shape. On the property is a small forest for walking and jogging or whatever you like to do. In the hunt-room it is possible to fire the chimney, play billard or run the sound-system. The whole estate was clean and neat, no doubt about that. Please notice that the pool is closed until May. We really recommend to order a couple of bottles of the outstanding chateau´s wine selection! The wine was one of the highlights the chateau has to offer. On one evening we ordered a menu of the chateau´s caterer, but that was of an quite average quality, we think we wouldn´t do that again next time. Christian was always helpful and courteous at any time. We´ve had some nice french holidays and really recommend to book the chateau, no doubt!

  • We stayed at les Miserai with a group of 21 people last weekend. We stayed in both the main castle and its annex. We had a fantastic weekend. The castle is well equipped, clean and located in a lovely area. There is a Carrefour 10 minutes away (by car) from the castle, which is very convenient. The annex is nice too and our friends who stayed there had a comfortable time. We also used the barn in the evening after dinner. Great location to chill in front of the chimney, while listening to some music. Dominique, was always quick to respond to our requests and messages, which was really appreciated. More importantly, Christian (Dominique’s brother) was such a wonderful host. He helped us plan some activities on the Saturday, by providing us with useful information so that some of us could horse ride. We also did some cycling and walked in the countryside. Every year we organise a weekend like this one, but we have to say that this year was the best by far and this is, in part, due to the location we chose and the way Christian welcomed us. The history of the castle is interesting too for those who like a bit of history. We would not hesitate to come back again. Thanks again Christian and Dominique. Liliane and Thomas

  • Great place to stay! Claude was welcoming and the house very nice. We loved the restaurant in the village we could walk to.

  • If you are looking for a great little bed and breakfast while visiting Normandy, look no further: Le Pressoir du Chene de Beauvais is the place for you. Ideal for a couple, two couples or a small family, Le Pressoir is situated just on the outskirts of Cambremer, a jewel of a village between Caen and Rouen. The hostess is charming, and will prepare breakfasts you will not forget. The bucolic surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. We stayed there while visiting the D-Day beaches and memorials. Spotless, well decorated and typical or traditional Normand architecture, Le Pressoir is a gem. There is also a great distillery in the village where one can buy great Calvados, apple cider and Pommeau.

  • The house and gardens were exactly as pictured. It was a beautiful setting and my kiddos loved running in the yard and playing with the animals. Our hostesses was very attentive and saw to our every need.

  • I absolutely loved this place! I was spending my first night in France (on this trip) in a B&B before meeting up with my family and I could not have chosen better. The accommodation is superb – watch out for the very steep stair to the bedroom – with comfy beds, fine linen, a wonderful shower and use of the sitting room. It’s pristine, it’s private and it’s very comfortable. She provided more towels than I would use if I stayed for a month, slippers, a robe - it was like a five star hotel! The house is a wonderful traditional Normandy cottage in the most sublime setting – looking out through the garden to the fields where the rescued ponies & horses live. Claude met me at the gate with a big smile and warm welcome – she loves her house, her horses, dogs and rabbit, and was generous in the way she shared them with me. I had the most wonderful ten day trip round England and Normandy on my motorbike and, when I think back on it, staying here was - without doubt - one of the highlights. When I go back to Normandy, I won’t be staying anywhere else. I loved it!

  • Beautiful location and a really great hostress

  • The host encouraged us to make use of the big living room. She also baked us a very nice plum pie for breakfast and homemade "compote" , was responsive to our needs but not too chatty which we appreciated a lot

  • What a pleasure it was to have met the host who is very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. Her breakfast was super delicious, and the bed most comfortable. The stairs to the room were a bit scary for me personally because of joint pain, but it is an absolutely delightful place for young families. Thanks Claude for the pleasant visit!

  • We had so much fun staying at Le Pressoir! The home is so charming, built in the 1700a! We loved being around the animals and delighted in the home cooked breakfasts provided. The host, Claude, is very nice and provided info about local museums. We got a little lost getting there because it was dark and the roads were narrow, but we called the host and she came out to look for us. We definitely recommend staying here#!

Traditional Normandy house with private forest of 40 hectares, 4km from the beach of Villers sur mer, 8km from Deauville. 26 beds, large fire place in the living room. Horse facilities. Russian, English, Spanish are spoken languages.
Spacious old house beside a horse farm, this building was previously used to accommodate the trainees of my father who was a well known horse riding instructor. Perfect for groups or families willing to enjoy the calm of the forest at 5mn driving distance from the beaches of Deauville, Villers, Cabourg. Two large dormitories with heaters: 8 beds in one room, 16 beds in the other room, + 2 beds in a small double room. Clean bed sheets are provided for all beds but not the blankets, it's recommended to come with your own sleeping bags. Two bathrooms with hot water, showers (2) and toilet (1), additional toilet outside. 25 guests can sit in the dining room. Possibility to use the fire place in the living room but with safety restrictions (see "House Rules" section). The grass field behind the house can be used for outdoor activities. Horse facilities are available but not included in the price.
  • It is a Beautiful house! Raoul doesn't embellish! The contact with him is very easy and nice! I recommend the house and in the future, I may come back at Villers

  • I rented Raoul's place to celebrate my birthday this year. We had a great time there, it is the perfect place for such an event. The place is rustic, as advertised in the description and pictures. It has all the necessary things for a great stay over a weekend. A typical normandy house with a big fireplace. We were a group of friends from all over Europe (and also from Kazakhstan), and all my guests loved the place. I definitely recommend it! Raoul was accessible through email when needed, and he gave us clear instructions and a local contact for getting the keys, etc.

  • Beautiful area, great to enjoy the sea, the forest and some horseback riding! The house is simple but nice, you can light the fireplace and make it cosy. Raoul was a very nice host (virtually) and we had a nice welcome from his children at the location itself.

  • I and ten friends stayed at Raoul's Normandy house and it was fantastic! Raoul responded to emails almost immediately and accommodated our late arrival. The house was great for large amounts of people (it could have fit twice our number) and since we were looking for a dormitory-style house away from the city, it matched our need perfectly. Thanks again Raoul!

  • This is a great venue to explore Deauville, Villers and the surrounding countryside. The kitchen, lounge and bedrooms have a lovely rustic charm with exposed beams and wood/ cobbled floor. The highlight is the setting with immediate access to woodland walks.

Merci !

'Le Petit Lapin' is a private 'boutique' cottage next to my farmhouse in the small Breton village of Sains. Its exposed beams and stone walls reveal its rural character, but it has all the modern amenities as well as its own large terrace.
On the Brittany-Normandy border, 'Le Petit Lapin' is a traditional Breton cottage located on top of a hill in the small village of Sains, nine kilometres from the famous medieval site of Mont Saint Michel. Usually renting by the week in high season (3 nights minimum) and by the night (2 nights minimum) the rest of the year, this small self-catering holiday cottage sleeping 2-4 people has a lovely view from the orchard over the Couesnon Valley to the south. The lively market town of Pontorson, the gateway to Mont Saint Michel, is six kilometres to the east in Normandy, while Dol de Bretagne, with its ancient cathedral, is eight kilometres to the west in Brittany. Dol additionally boasts several fine restaurants and a public indoor swimming pool. Sandy beaches are a thirty-minute drive from the house, as is dramatic cliff-walking near Cancale, a town famed for its oysters. Saint Malo, with its old walled town and a large aquarium, is also a thirty-minute drive, as is the beautiful medieval town of Dinan and the seaside town of Dinard. Rennes, the capital of Brittany, is a hour away and has a fabulous Saturday market, but there are plenty of colourful local markets throughout the week in Dol (Saturday), Saint James (Monday) and Pontorson (Wednesday) as well as a small market twice a week in the nearby village of Pleine Fougeres (on Tuesdays and Fridays). Pleine Fougeres also has a large supermarket. Please note that the minimum stay is 2 nights most of the year and 3 nights in the summer, and while I prefer week-long bookings in July and August-- due to the region's popularity-- I am happy to make exceptions if there is availability. Monthly rentals are normally only available November through March.
  • Brittany Cottage was a nice quiet place to stay. The cottage had all the requirements that you needed. It was nice and cosy. The location was in the small village of Sains, which has good access to all the local attractions at Mt St Michel, Dol de Bretagne and St Malo. There is no shop or restaurant in the village so you need to ensure you have supplies with you. The closest inter march (supermarket) is about 5 mins drive. The orchard area was a nice place to relax and read. A good place for a couples to stay.

  • Hi Caroline, Le Petit Lapin was every bit the perfect retreat in a wonderfully quiet and relaxing part of the countryside - an ideal place to return to each evening after chasing the Tour de France. Thank you for your kind hospitality, homemade pate and the fresh cherries picked from the garden! Our little home had everything we needed and the beds SO comfortable for a good nights sleep. You've obviously worked very hard to make your house and gardens so beautiful and simple; everything seemed to fit so naturally and unpretentiously - congratulations. All I need to do now is persuade my wife that she needs to come and stay next time. Thank you once again. John and Jonathan...and yes, we managed to visit the village of Vessey not far from Pontorson!

  • It was a pleasure communicating with Caroline about "Le Petit Lapin" before and after booking. My only regret was not being able to meet Caroline in person, but I can't blame her for going to meet her newborn grandchild for the first time! Caroline had made arrangements for us to enter the cottage without any problem. She was gone, but her affectionate cats were there to greet us. The gite was immaculate and cleverly designed with everything we needed. We enjoyed reading the articles about the history of the gite which used to be a pigsty (certainly not a dirty or messy place any more!) and rabbit hutch. The 4 of us slept well in the quiet countryside. The bathroom is especially nice for France. We all enjoyed our stay and recommend the charming "Le Petit Lapin" without reservation.

  • Both Caroline and the cottage were delightful. The cottage is set in beautiful surroundings. Tranquility abounds. Caroline was very welcoming.

  • The house was very comfortable and the garden was a perfect place to spend time with my family. Caroline is a very kind host and she tried her best to satisfy our needs. Great place to stay especially if you love cats!

    mirae 2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely four night stay in Caroline and Tom's cottage. Everything you would need and would recommend firing up a barbecue in the orchard. Caroline gave us lots of information which really helped to get the most out of our time there: lots to do in the local area so would definitely worth a visit, even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits!

  • We really enjoyed our time at "Le Petit Lapin". The cottage was quaint, cosy, warm and well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Caroline was a great host - she welcomed us on arrival, provided us with information about the cottage & its local surrounds, checked to make sure we had settled in and was readily available to answer any questions that we had. During our stay we visited Pontorson, Mont Saint Michel, Dol de Bretagne, Saint Malo, Cancale and Dinard - all of which are in close proximity by car. Our only disappointment is that we didn't stay longer. Would highly recommend this lovely cottage!

  • Le Petit Lapin is really one of the nicest place i've visited through airbnb. Caroline was really a great host, waiting for us at our late arrival from Paris. The place is well located and my friends and I had time to visit Le Mont Saint Michel, Saint Malô and Etretat during the whole week end. Caroline's cottage was a really great and clean place to stay and to recover for our long days visiting the surrounding areas. The sun was a bit late in our week end to enjoy the terrasse but i can really well imagine how nice it must be to spend a sunny day with the cats in the orchard.

  • nice place

  • The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • We met with the hostess on arrival, and she showed us the apartment and gave us the key. It was exactly as pictured and was clean and appealing, having modern design features and amenities. Parking was plentiful and free and we could walk to the beach in less than 10 minutes. It was quiet, peaceful and picturesque and I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone. There was a TV but no cable or WiFi.

  • Great place to stay with fantastic view! Just like on the pictures. Good communication with owner. I'd love to come back here!! Our 2 little kids also loved Deauville and Trouville.

  • Very nice place to visit! Recommended!

  • We enjoyed our stay in Cynthia's apartment, it was clean and comfortable, but the best thing was sea view. The location is good, close to the Deauville beach, but far enough from all the tourists. There is a nice restaurant in the neighbourhood where you can grab a bite any time. The house is really quiet, our little daughter slept perfectly there. Hopefully one day we will come back.

  • Cynthia and Annick were very very accommodating, great communication, property was as described. Thank you :)

  • The facilities were clean. The location was ok but not ideal if you want to explore the beaches at normandy. The arrival was difficult. Partially my fault due to unexpected delays, but the person who met us didnt speak english which caused some frustration when getting oriented to the flat. This also led to no real orientation to the area. They also charge money for towels and sheets.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Patricia's apartment , so very well located metres from Trouville's lovely tranquil promenade, and unmarred by any noisy road between houses and beach. Patricia was the perfect hostess , readily available friendly and helpful. The apartment is well appointed comfortable and quiet, and its location is unbeatable. Free parking outside is a welcome bonus .. Many thanks, we hope to return

  • Amazing house. A warm welcome. Everything that is needed to have a wonderful moment was prepared. Exceptionally clean and identical match with the pictures and reality. You have the Trouville-beach just 50 feet from the house. Just Great.

  • We had a very enjoyable stay in Trouville, enhanced greatly by our stay in Aurélie's clean, convenient and well appointed apartment right by the beach. It's easy to find, Aurélie was very helpful beforehand with tips and information re food etc, and her mother kind and thoughtful re our later than planned arrival. We'd definitely like to come back.

  • Our stay at Aurélie's apartment was wonderful. Her mother lives in the building and helped us at both check-in and check-out. It's truly only a few steps from a beautiful beach, and the town of Trouville is charming. The apartment has been recently renovated to a high standard, particularly the bathroom. I wish I could have a shower like that every day! Thank you, I look forward to returning.

  • The house was clean dry and serviceable. I never met the host, some one else was cleaning it I think when arrived as called, and was told to come back.

  • Very clean and cozy! The boardwalk and beach are right outside the apartment which made it convenient for sunrise and sunset walks. We were also able to park our car along the side street in front of the apartment building.

  • The apartment was absolutely lovely , in a great location by the beach . The pictures don't do it justice , it is much nicer in reality. It was spotlessly clean , the bathroom was very modern with an amazing shower . We did not meet Aurèlie herself but she was very helpful when I asked if she could arrange for someone to take us to the airport on our departure. Her father was happy to do it ( we payed him 20€ instead of 30€ that the taxis charge for a 10 minute journey ) . Both her parents ( lovely people ) were there to welcome us on when we arrived . This was one of the best Airbnb experiences we've had so far . All in all I highly recommend the apartment to anyone wishing to have a nice stay which is reasonably priced .

  • We arrived on a cold night and Patricia welcomed us to a clean and warm, cozy space. Patricia's apartment is situated right by the beach and a few minutes walk from restaurants, shops and the quayside. Although small it is excellently appointed and even has a small dishwasher. We were a family of 4 (2 small children) and it suited us perfectly. There is parking outside. We would stay here again

  • We had an amazing experience at Christian's place! It is a beautifully renovated, comfortable loft apartment in a farmhouse. Christian was very welcoming and helped us with our laundry, made us a dinner reservation and even gave us a bottle of Normandy cider. Would highly recommend this place to other guests!

  • Our stay in Christian and Fanfan's home was wonderful. Everything was exactly like the photos and they couldn't have been more friendly and charming. We had eggs for breakfast straight from the chickens in the backyard! The little farming town is so quaint and perfect - I recommend that everyone take a walk through the small streets; you'll be pleasantly surprised with a wonderful far away view of Le Mont Saint Michel. I would highly recommend this stay!

  • I and my wife have spent a night in Christian's house, and it was the most wonderful experience during our short trip. It is located in the countryside so that while driving toward it we were able to enjoy feeling a true atmosphere of french countryside fulled with peacefulness and calmness. When we got there, even in the late evening, Christian and his wife(and their cat :)) greeted us with a full of warmth that we'd never had in a city life., and most of all, the house itself was not only beautiful and cozy but also very comfortable to stay for its cleanness and spaciousness. Although it was almost impossible to get an internet access, we felt that we don't need it at all while staying there(if it were with an internet access, we might just want to live there). Next morning, Christian intimately came out to say a farewell to us, and we thought in mind that we would definitely revisit here again. Thank you Christian.

  • We loved our stay in this homey loft studio in a beautiful garden. It was well equipped, including fresh eggs from Christian's hens, and bikes we rode to get an amazing view of Mon San Michel. Christian was very helpful answering our questions and welcomed us warmly. We highly recommend it!

  • It was a pleasure to stay in the house. The hosts are totally friendly and the flat is lovely and cozy well located to visit the Mont Saint Michelle .

  • Christian's place was wonderful! The apartment is beautiful and was exactly as described. It also came with everything we needed for our stay from soap to towels. Christian was also extremely welcoming and gave us some great food for breakfast the following morning. I would absolutely recommend staying here if you'll be in the area!

  • We Loved our stay at Christian's home. It's even more beautiful than the pictures and he is an amazing host. I now wish we had stayed longer because this entire area is a beautiful part of France. The house is very clean and comfortable. I would recommend anyone stay here!

  • Christian and Fanfan welcomed us so generously to their beautiful apartment. The apartment is so beautifully designed that we immediately felt comfortable and cared for. The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom was lovely, the kitchen was great, everything seemed brand new and well looked after; making for an altogether very happy two night stay here. On top of all that, the location was very convenient for visiting Bayeux, Mont Saint Michel and the Emerald Coast, as well as experiencing the lovely, quiet, French countryside. Despite our inadequate French language skills, Christian and Fanfan were super friendly hosts and made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. We were and we did! Thank you :)

  • Marie's place was absolutely wonderful. Her description of the apartment and location is very accurate. The view was spectacular from the bedroom, living room and bathroom, and the location was prime as you could walk everywhere easily. The apartment was clean and presentable with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. If you plan to use the sofa pull out talk to Marie beforehand about how best to open it as we had some difficulties doing so. It was very easy to find the place and obtain the key to get access to it. Marie provided excellent information regarding parking options, checkin/checkout procedures, and things to do in Etretat by both Airbnb and email to ensure we had all the information readily available. She was very responsive leading up to the stay, during, and as we were leaving. We highly recommend staying at Marie's place; you won't be disappointed! Thank you Marie!

  • The view you wake up to is worth every cent. Location is in the middle of town, walk out the door and surrounded by shops and restaurants and the beach and walks are very close.

  • We stayed at Marie's place in Étretat for a day between Paris and London, and it was one of the best parts of our trip! Étretat is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, and Marie's apartment in the looking out into the city and the beach was the perfect place to stay. First, the town - it's surreal how unique this little town is. It almost feels like it was picked up out of Epcot at Disneyworld and dropped right where it is, nestled between the famous white cliffs. There are a few markets and some amazing restaurants no matter how classy or casual you want to get, so if you're there for a short stay you literally have no need to leave town (good thing too, parking can be a little hard). The natural beauty of the cliffs and surrounding countryside is something everyone should experience if they get a chance. If you're even considering it (and you are if you're reading this review) then go for it, you will not regret it. Secondly, if you are going to go, hopefully Marie's place is available! It opens up onto the street in front of two very good restaurants, a casino, and the beach is mere paces away from the front door. Marie was an excellent host, she met us in front of the building and led us up to her apartment on the top floor. Once there, her and her husband gave us a little background on the building and the town and let us on our way. It was a very nice touch and helped us appreciate where we were staying. Everything worked in the apartment as expected and was very clean and comfortable. Seriously, if you have the opportunity, book here now!

  • A great flat with a fab view perfect for a couple or more as there was a sofa bed. Near the town and the beach with lots of lovely restaurants and food.

  • We had an excellent time at Marie's. It is a beautiful old building with a charming entry and fireplace. One reaches the apartment by an old-fashioned elevator like those seen in good classic movies. Everything was neat and clean and the naval decorations were perfect with the wonderful views from the windows. Marie and Domonique were both very helpful and made sure we had a good stay. It is an area that certainly deserves more time than the one overnight we had.

  • Nice flat with spectacular view to the sea and cliffs. Very nice house architecturally with a wonderful entrance. Me and my husband enjoyed having tea in the dining room looking at the cliffs. Also, we were grateful for the batteries which made the flat very warm during the chilly May days. Overall we liked the flat a lot. The whole experience, however, was destroyed in the last moment by the cleaning ladies who shouted and looked at us as if we have destroyed the whole apartment, in the reality we had some food left in the fridge, and because we just had breakfast we had some dishes unwashed. Obviously they wanted us to make THEIR job, ie clean dishes and take out garbage (btw they left an old smelling sponge which I couldnt even touch and only a very tiny garbage pack, so I had a hard time washing the plates and trying to fit the garbage in). I left the apartment shaking from shock.Throughout my 30+ airbnb rents it's the first time I face smth like. Nevertheless, once these cleaning ladies are displaced (one of them is called Ms Noema) I can highly recommend the apartment.

  • This apartment was amazing. The location is perfect, next to the beach, shops, restaurants, and hiking. The view of the cliffs from the windows far exceeded our expectations. This apartment is spacious and had everything we needed. Marie was a great host and communicated with US beforehand as well as aftewe we left. I

  • The Mouly's are super hosts. They helped us with parking and our luggage when we arrived. We learned about tunnels in the cliffs while having a lovely conversation with them. We experienced their recommendations during our stay. Fantastic! The view from their apartment is spectacular. I would recommend their lovely home to anyone wanting to experience Etretat over staying in a hotel. Lovely people and great accommodations.

  • Patricia was amazing, easy communications and assistance. Very friendly and lovely. The apartment whilst petite as it aptly called was fabulously clean, big enough for 2 of us and the dog and set in a lovely position high upon the town with good views and a lovely 2 minute walk down to all the action. Honfleur was beautiful and would I recommend or stay in Patricia's place again? Most definitely is the answer. Regards Duncan and Yvonne.

  • Patricia gave us a warm welcome and was helpfully flexible about our arrival time. There was ample parking and the flat was a five minute walk to the town. A great location. The flat was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The sofa bed was already made up for my son to sleep on, all we had to do was unfold it. The flat is well equipped for a longer stay but equally fab for our overnight stay. There was beer in the fridge for us and leaflets to help us to find our way around. A lovely place to stay with very helpful hosts who speak English and Italian!

  • Excellent place with very helpful and friendly hosts.

  • Although we didn't meet in person Patricia, she was helpful all time and her son took care of welcoming us. It is a small but nice and cozy apartment, in a small walk distance from the center. I recommend the apartment for a stay in this beautiful town.

  • Patricia and his husband are very kind and pleasant. The apt is in a super central position in honfleur, is clean and with everything you need. Vey good experience.

  • Patricia met us at the apartment and showed us everything we needed. Location of the apartment is a 5 minute uphill walk from the centre of town. Parking is an issue but we were very lucky in that another owner in the same apartment moved his car from a public space in front of the apartment to his garage. We tried to do some laundry but the washing machine cut out. Patricia kindly took it to her house, washed it and returned it within an hour! Problem with slow drainage in the apartment, but I expect this will be rectified before the next guests arrive. Would certainly recommend this property.

  • Patricia was very nice and she gave us a warm welcome. The apartment was clean and super functional. We had a good time :)

  • Very cute apartment - clean, modern, and very comfortable. We were greeted on arrival and given a kind in-person goodbye. Very happy with our stay!

  • This place is literally PERFECT for experiencing the beauty of Normandy from within, while touring D-Day locations. We'd give it 6 stars, if we could. The location is superb. Incredible. It's within 5-30 minutes drives from at least 5 amazing D-Day locations, and in itself located in the gorgeous fields of Normandy. Can't ask for something more authentic and beautiful. The apartment is spacious and perfectly arranged. We stayed with 3 children, and it was perfect. All the amenities are at the level of a 5-star hotel. Alejandro was easy to communicate with whenever we had a question.

  • Alejandro was very easy to communicate with before the stay and everything ran very smoothly from booking to handover of key and leaving the apartment. The apartment was nice and clean and we were very happy to stay in the apartment.

  • What a gem in the beautiful countryside of Normandy. This property is nothing short of amazing, with breathtaking views and simply perfect accommodations. Alejandro was truly one of the most gracious hosts we've ever rented from. His knowledge & enthusiasm of the Normandy area led us to sites we may otherwise have skipped. We would give it 10 stars, if possible!!

  • Beautiful location, very convenient to historical landmarks. Very cozy and was a lovely stay. The host was incredibly helpful.

  • This was a great place to stay. It is convenient to Omaha Beach and the surrounding area. Alejandro was a wonderful host and helped us with directions and finding groceries nearby. The apartment was clean, comfortable and welcoming. We would recommend it and would love to come back and stay longer.

  • What a great place for us; warm and cosy and just fun. You can tell that Alejandro really cares about the property and his guests, it works and its lovely. We just stayed one night on our way back to the UK but if you wish to explore the area, then this is a lovely home to stay in.

  • Alejandro is extremely informational on the area. He provided an excellent historical WWII map that helped us find the sites we wanted to visit. The home was very clean and equipped with all the essentials.

  • Alejandro's place is very charming. He was a awesome host who was welcoming. He is helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We would highly recommend his place.

  • We spent a lovely night at l'Escale - 4 adults and 5 children. The house is absolutely gorgeous and extremely well equipped. Our host Paul was really friendly and very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone. Hopefully we have the opportunity to return ourselves soon.

  • This house is a one-of-a-kind and a definite must stay. The owner of the property has provided the best experience I have ever had to date. I will definitely be staying here again if the opportunity presents itself. If you're looking to come to the area look no further, this is where you should be staying.

  • As other reviews have indicated, Paul's gîte is something out of the ordinary. Not only is the house lovely, bright and airy, but it's the attention to detail and the "home from home" feeling one gets which place it above the ordinary. And to top it all, the fridge and larder were heaving with delicious food and drink: not just the usual bottle of wine and baguette, but absolutely everything one could wish for, from farm eggs to local paté, fruit, cheese and olives, to tinned essentials, etc. We would certainly wish to revisit chez Paul when we're next in Brittany. Merci, Paul.

  • If you're wanting a place of perfection, your going to find it here! Paul was an amazing host, and we look forward to visiting again...

  • Paul, thank you so much for your welcome and kindness. The house is really pretty and confortable ! the countryside is very calm. Surely we will come back ! Cheers, Cécile

  • Our stay at L' Escale was more than perfect. The house is very well decorate and equipped. Paul is an excellent host, very helpful en hospitable. He welcomed us with a bottle of Bordeaux and breakfast upon our arrival. We would definitely recommend family and friends to stay in this place if there want to go to this area. Thanks again Paul for a wonderful pleasant stay.

  • Paul was fantastic. His communication with us prior to our visit was perfect, e.g. he worked with us regarding the time of our arrival and gave us additional information about the location of the home. He welcomed us warmly. The home was modern, clean and well lighted. The backyard porch was great for morning breakfasts. The home is located in a beautiful location, rolling green hills and plenty of trees. Mont Saint-Michel was only a short drive away. I highly recommend this location. Thank you Paul for everything!

  • We had a wonderful experience. The house is very well decorate and equipped, very charming. Plus, there was some food available for our breakfast, which was extremely useful. Very recommendable.

  • So cute and charming! Good area. They were great to work with. Highly recommend this place.

  • Perfect place to stay in the heart of Caen . This studio flat is compact but not too small, very clean and it has all you need for a couple to enjoy a short sightseeing stay. Great location with buzzy bars below and all the shops and places to eat , old town on your doorstep. Very helpful hosts who showed us were to park for free overnight (pay during day - but as we were out sightseeing and wouldn't need to park all day this was fine otherwise you need to factor in parking costs to your stay). Tip - pack light to park a 6 min walk away and lots of stairs. Would happily recommend this place to friends

  • Perfect! Great location in the pedestrianised centre of Caen, yet quiet and private. Nathalie welcomed me and showed me where everything was, then left me to myself so I could relax and explore the region. Definitely recommended. Merci Nathalie. L'appartement était parfait!

  • Thank you so much for the visit, we had an amazing stay in this wonderful flat and town. Would absolutely go back!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Nathalie and Sebastien's place! The address is right in the heart of a popular shopping and restaurant district, with easy access to the key sights in Caen. The building was very quiet despite the busy street, and was a very relaxing place to stay. We would definitely go back!

  • We had a short but lovely stay at Nathalie and Sebastien's place. The flat was cute, clean and in a great part of Caen. We were walking distance from all of the main attractions including the Chateau and Abbayes. Would definitely reccomend.

  • Such lovely people and and excellent place to stay!

  • A perfect location in Caen and a beautiful apartment. Sebastien is a wonderful host.

Large room with private bathroom in a lovely traditional house with garden rue Isabey right in the center of Etretat, 2mn walk from the beach, calm and comfortable.
Our house is a 5mn walk to the beach in a calm street although it's right next to the city hall and the heart of the village. It's hidden from the street by our garden where you can hang out if you want, take breakfast or a glass of wine.
    Etretat is precious and unique.
  • Nice stay for a night in Etretat! Nice room and private bathroom! Very short walk from la Marie and the beach!

  • Small but cosy, Pascale is very attentive and helpful :) the place is a few steps away from the sea and in a very quiet neighborhood

  • The host canceled this reservation 9 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • A fantastic studio close to the beach. But not the amenities. The local supermarket is a good 15 mins walk away , closer by is a very exclusive bakery and butcher. Well equipped with a washer/dryer , however the sofa bed has a weird smell, but it didn't put us off , I stayed here with 2 children no problem .

  • Everything was as expected. We met the hosts cousin about 6:10 (we planned on being there around 6) and she was very gracious. She showed us the place which was clean and exactly what we were looking for to explore that area of France (i.e. Normandy, WWII sites, etc.). The town feels safe. We were there Sunday-Tues. so it was pretty quiet at night vs. a summer weekend where I imagine it will be more lively.

  • Perfect location , you can see the beach from the window, with comfortable kitchen, that has everything you need. Clean. Parking is free next to the building. It was 4 of us, kids are 12 and 17, we had enough space for couple of days, good floorplan, decorated nicely. The only problem was mattress odor. Hopefully it can be fixed.

  • Its a little studio, very practical and clean. Just pay attention that bed sheets and towels are offered with an extra cost.

  • Place was nice and clean and comfortable. Only had problems communicating with host because he/she did not speak english and this caused miscommunications

In the heart of the historical city, this studio of 20m2 with exposed woodwork has a splendid view and in front of you the spectacle is daily with the rising and falling tides so some evening you will have the opportunity to have the sun set and admire at Far the islands chausey .....
Small kitchen entirely done up, and a cupboard of tidying up this small studio is ideal for a person or a couple.
This district is unique in its architecture since it is the oldest part of the city, the houses have a certain cachet it is also the quietest part, but the small place Cambernon ensures a small bar with concert, a nice Museum, small galleries .... and especially the sea and its beaches
  • What a beautiful studio. Not perfect, but location is perfect! We did enjoy our stay and the friendly Rose. We will definately recommend this to our friends and there is a very big chance we will return for a few nights.

  • I chose the place because of the view and I don't regret it!

  • We had some fantastic days in Granville. The Flat is great and Rose is a nice host.

  • A nice place in a wonderful sweet little town. with a beautiful beach in front of the house. can only say, a fine place to be. With breakfast . . . So we think there will be every morning baguette. . .

  • Amazing locations, sea view, old part of town. Rose is a kind and helpful .

  • The host canceled this reservation 36 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • The view from the apartment was better than I imagined, situated in the historic high part of the town with dramatic cliff top scenery, energising walks and beach below. Nestled in the narrow streets of granite buildings, there are also artist run galleries including Rose's nearby. The dark wooden floor and panelling of the studio apartment, barometers and references to the sea made this an interesting and atmospheric place to retreat to and enjoy the view while having a simple meal and glass of wine. It would suit a couple or single person and is within healthy walking distance of many restaurants, bars, shops, and a cinema and other attractions Granville has to offer.

  • Rose was good at communicating by email. Unfortunately she was away and we did not get to see her, but she provided good directions to get the key. The place is as per photographs and good walking distance to everything. Only one towel for two people, this may have been due to her not being there to get it ready. Cozy and perfect for a one night visit.

We 're listening to you can spend the best possible stay so do not hesitate ..
  • Yes this location really is a beautiful as it looks. You can walk out your door into the middle of lively night life or sit on your balcony with a glass of wine watching from above. We were there almost a week and did not find the action below to be noisy. we enjoyed the music talk and laughter. Remi was a prefect host and his basic English allowed us to communicate with no problem. He was ready with recommendations and inside tips at any time. From Honfleur we visited Mont-St-Michel, Normandy Beaches, Rouen. Giverny (Claude Monet's home) Etratat and Bayeaux, so this is obviously a great hub for travelling northern France. Highly recommended(URL HIDDEN)

  • Exceptional view from the room and very responsive host. Thank you, Lori

  • We loved our stay at Le Balcon du Port! Remi is an exceptional host and knows his hometown well! Upon our arrival, he met us in the parking lot and accompanied us to the apartment - also helping us with our luggage. The view from the balcony is very special! We always sat there to drink some wine or cider and watch the activity on the port. Remi also showed us where to park our car for free - an easy walk away. The restaurants and places to visit that Remi recommended were perfect for us - especially L'Homme de Bois and Hippocampe (restaurants) and trips to Etretat and the cider route. The studio apartment is perfect for a couple! Very comfortable with a great location!

  • We had a great time staying here. The apartment is right in the village center in the harbor. Couldn't ask for a a better location.

  • This place was much more than we expected. The location is unbeatable, and the view from the balcony the best. I highly recommend it

  • Charlène et Rémi’s apartment is in probably the best location possible in Honfleur. It looks out over both of the main banks of the harbour, giving constant access to the most iconic views of the town. The apartment is charming, and the sofa bed is very comfortable. Despite the very central location, we had a very restful night, with no disturbances from traffic. Rémi welcomed us, and gave us information on the town, and was a great communicator throughout. Our only criticism was that the kitchen area may be considered compact, and there wasn't much in the way of utensils. However, this shouldn't bother too many guests as there is a wide range of great places to eat within a stone's throw, so why cook?! Thank you Charlene and Rémi. We would happily return

  • This is the place to stay in Honfleur. The view is beautiful, and the property is charming, and the location can't be beat. Remi was extremely helpful, and gave an excellent local dinner recommendation. I would recommend staying here any time you're in Honfleur.

  • Great location, beautiful view and good sized living/sleeping area. Terrible sofa bed and shower. Sofa beds don't have to be uncomfortable (we've slept on many others) but this one is in the top 5 worse night sleeps I've had. The shower head position is not adjustable, in order to be under the water you have to hold the shower head. Very difficult to shower properly. Description matches perfectly. Easy to locate, Remi was great to deal with.

  • The place was perfect for our needs and we only wish we had more time to spend there as we arrived very late (which was no problem for Celine). The beds were comfortable, shower was great. The place was very well-equipped and spotless.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay. The people are friendly and made me feel very welcome. They have a very clean and well kept place, with everything you would need. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Celine (and her family) was very lovely and welcoming and always available to help. The accommodation was well equipped with everything you need, and very well priced. Thanks Celine for a great stay!

  • Well what can I say. This is a superb little place. Celine is an amazing lovely woman. And a great host. And her two children are lovely too. I felt very welcome. I had the gite to myself, which was nice. I had picked up some food and wine, so I was very happy sitting in front of the wood burner. There is a tv and wifi, but I never used them. The bed, although a bunk bed,was very comfortable, and the gite, was spotlessly clean too. Beautiful french countryside. Plus fresh walnuts, from their tree. mmmm. It was also lovely having coffee with Celine and the girls, as well as meeting the animals on the farm. Celine and her husband, have worked amazingly hard renovating the house and gite. I found it quite humbling to look at their picture book of all the effort and hard work that they had put in. And at £14 per night. Amazing and fantastic value. I feel so inspired by Celine. Will I stay again? yes! Will I recommend it? Yes!

  • Cèline's country home is very beautiful and well-equipped. I appreciated the rides to and from the train station as well.

  • We had a great prolonged weekend at Celine's place. It is well-equipped and it was really comfortable for 3 of us. The facilities exaclty meet the decription on the website. All members of Celine's family speak very good English. The accomodation was smooth and nice. There is a lot of privacy there but on the same time all persons were very helpful and supportive in case of any questions. Our son had a lot of fun with the animals and we spent great time exploring the area which is extremely great! Definitely recommend this place.

  • Céline is such a kind, warm and open person! Her gîte is cosy, charming, and best of all CLEAN. We enjoyed sleeping in comfortable beds with warm, soft blankets and fluffy pillows. The electric kettle and coffee maker were life savers! ;) The kitchen is basic but well-stocked with pots and pans, tableware, and sugar/salt/etc. The large bath area has a lovely towel warmer for chilly autumn nights. We loved the large table and benches to spread out on at meal times. Confetti the dog is adorable, the horse is a beautiful, gentle thing, and her entire family is wonderful and welcoming! Céline was always available to help, offering to light our fire nightly before we returned from exploring, and went out of her way to assist when we had trouble with our rental car. Don't hesitate to stay at Céline's gîte, relax in the countryside with the warm Norman people, and take in the rich local history. You won't regret it!

  • My stay was incredible. I could ask for not more. The accommodations were as expected, very clean and well maintained. But the best part of all was the hosts. They treated me like family so much that I would like to return with some of my family. If you truly want a French experience, this is where you need to go. It will last in my memory for all time. The kindness and sincerity of the host family was genuine and may a lasting impression on me. I don't know if this week can be topped. Thanks to Celine and her family and the true friendship they offered. Skip Paris and go to Le Vast.

  • We've just come back from staying in this fantastic house a stones throw from the beach. The house is beautifully decorated and has all the modern appliances you will need - a very home from home atmosphere. Astrid is very prompt and efficient with information and Jerome was extremely welcoming on arrival. I stayed here with my two young children (3yrs and 8 months) and had to be vary vigilant as the beautiful stairs leading you up over the 4 floors can cause somewhat of a hazard for a curious toddler and a crawling baby. But other than that, a lovely and highly recommended stay in Trouville-sur-mer.

  • Great location!

  • Our stay in Astrid's house was absolutely fantastic. The house is in an excellent location, just metres from the beach and minutes walk from boulangeries, bars, shops and cafes. The house is well equipped especially for families with children and includes lots of beach equipment - spades, buckets, towels etc. There are quite a few stairs in the house and it would not be suitable for someone who struggles with stairs. We stayed with small children and the stairs were not an issue. We hope to return because we had such an excellent time.

  • Lovely little fisherman house, a stones throw from the beach. Very efficient and stylishly decorated family house. We stayed with a family of 5 but could've stayed with a lot more. Everything thats good about Trouville in walking distance. And even if you forgot your 'Hermes-scarf', Deauville is around the corner.

  • We couldn't ask for a better experience as first timer with AirOur first experience with Airbnb! Astrid was really quick to answer our request and all our subsequent questions. As for Bénédicte, she was very accomodating and so nice and friendly! The size of the house was perfect for 3 adults and 5 kids ( between the ages of 7 and 16). It was extremely clean and well equiped. They even have a Nespresso machine for great morning coffees! The location is also perfect: close to the beach, the market and local stores. Everything short walking distance. Merci Astrid et Bénédicte! If life brings us back to Trouville we will cettainly contact you again!

  • The house is absolutely fabulous. the dream house for a beautiful vacation to Trouville. It's suer cosy and comfortable - think Danish Hygge with a French twist - and has all the amenities you could ask for. Astrid is super reactive and very kind, providing lots of advice for things to do and place to go in the region. It really does sleep 12 very comfortably, and is literally 2 minutes from the beautiful beach. A coup de Coeur !

  • Excellent location and thoughtful host - great place for a relaxing vacation. The home in Trouville sur Mer was a spacious home on 4 levels, very nicely decorated and welcoming. We had 2 families with 4 adults and 4 kids from ages 2-14. Everyone had a great time and being 1 block from the beach was great. The stairs are steep for any travelers with mobility issues, but everything else, from the town, the home and Jerome - the owners local contact, was all we could ask. We had 2-3 questions for Jerome and they were answered quickly and well. Thanks for the great vacation site - would highly recommend.

  • We are a group of 5 friends, who stayed at Astrid's lovely home for a week. Everything was perfect - from the comprehensive information about the house and things to do in Trouville (emailed beforehand) to the seamless and warm welcome from Jerome, the beautiful well equipped house, and Trouville itself. The location was great. I would recommend Astrid's place without hesitation.
