Barbara's place is lovely, it's in a great location with beautiful views of the lake. We were travelling with our one year old and arrived to a portacot set up and high chair ready at the table, we didn't even request these so it was such a lovely surprise that Barbara had these ready knowing we were travelling with a toddler. The place was roomy and clean with lots of local tips, we would definitely stay again!

The property is well organised and complete with all the amenities required. This included a baby changing area outside the bathroom. From the property it takes nearly an hour to walk into the centre of Rotorua to visit the thermal park and restaurants. Barbara was away during our stay, however she had arranged for her friend to greet us and to provide us with any help that we needed upon arrival. This was incredibly kind of her and greatly appreciated. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Rotorua.

A very clean well appointed and organised Airbnb space. It was in a lovely location in a quiet road, although a little away from the centre of town. Parking in Rotorua is plentiful so getting downtown to the restaurants, the sightseeing spots and the night street market was not a problem. I would stay here again if in Rotorua again.

Absolutely beautiful views! A cozy and inviting space and a great location for seeing Rotorua or further afield (the drive to Hobbiton wasn’t too bad from here). The neighborhood is great and seems family friendly with some nice local parks. Check in was painless and we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

Sonia’s place was very clean and well equipped. It had cable TV, and internet. There were drinks at a reasonable price for sale in the room. The space was very nice. We booked it because of the proximity to the airport. It was very easy to reach from the airport.

Lovely accommodation and good location

Cosy and clean accommodation near the Redwoods Treewalk in Rotorua. Quiet neighborhood. I only stayed one night, but found everything I needed. There is a small grocery store in walking distance. You can also walk to the Redwoods Treewalk, which I recommend just before dusk to beat the crowds and to still get to see the place when the lights are turned on. It was magical. I can highly recommend this place for anyone exploring the Rotorua area. Whakarewarewa was just a 5 min drive from the studio, as is Kuirau Park, which offer some free of charge thermal activities.

This rental was perfect for our stay in Rotorua. Very close to the redwoods and a short drive from town. The bakery around the corner, Mistress of Cakes, was fantastic—well worth the visit!

A lovely little spot right on the lakefront amongst the bush. We had a great weekend if adventuring! Lots of rustic charm. Being able to use the kayaks was awesome. We will definitely book another trip. Thanks Sarah!

We had a wonderful night at Sarah's batch. The location is sensational with its proximity to the lake and distance to Rotorua. We had a lovely evening paddle in the kayak and watch the sunset from the grass in front of the batch. Great facilities, everything you'd need for a great stay (apart from an oven glove!) our only regret is not being able to stay longer, but we will be back.

Perfect place for a quiet family getaway - the extras like kayaks and private lakefront yard were totally worth the distance from Rotorua if you are visiting.

Communication and local tips were outstanding but nothing compared to the location and amenities which have to be seen to be believed.

Fantastic bach! Well positioned bach right on the lake front. Super clean with all the amenities you need. Relaxing, private - the perfect place for a wind down and close to everything including Rotoiti hot pools and Rotorua central.

Amazing location, very private and sheltered bay. Makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but it's only 10-15 mins to town. Great place to unwind and watch the amazing sunsets!

This was our first stay in NZ, and it was such a delight! We definitely experienced the kiwi hospitality we had heard about! It was nice to do our laundry here. The space is artfully styled & had everything we needed for our stay. The bed was comfy, and there were extra blankets. It was really nice that we could not smell the sulfur of Rotorua inside the space! We really loved it overall!

Emelie’s place was a great! Clean house, clean bathroom, comfortable bed and very close to the city. She was very kind and welcoming. Definitely would recommend her place for anyone else visiting Rotorua.

Lovely hosts. Location is superb as it is easy distance to the town, shopping, and attractions. The room does get quite hot, and there are no screens on the windows so cannot open to cool down the room after a long day since there are lots of hugs in the region at evening time. A small fan is provided by the host. Thank you for hosting me!

Our visit to Rotorua was made immensely better because of Chloe’s superb tips and guidance on where to go and what to do. We so enjoyed talking with the family; that’s why we stay in AirBnb’s - to meet and chat with locals. The place was very quiet and we slept well. The shower was great with plenty of hot water and water pressure. The location was excellent. We took a very long walk in the nearby redwood forest. So peaceful! We would stay there again.

This studio is in a great location on the edge of town right next to the amazing Redwoods and on the road out to the lakes swimming, boating and walking areas. Yet it’s in easy walking distance to local shops and cafés. It’s a great base for exploring this lovely area as well as being quiet and comfortable, with good facilities for cooking if you want to self-cater.

Perfect location if you want to walk to the Redwoods, and if you have a car then it's a short couple of minutes drive to downtown. The streets in this area are quiet and the hosts were welcoming.

Chloe was very helpful in proving us with what to do around Rotorua, they made us feel very welcome and were so friendly.

We had a great stay at Chloe’s and Andy’s place (total 3 nights). They are lovely hosts and took good care of us throughout our stay. Their hospitality is impeccable. The communication was excellent and they responded to us immediately for any requests. The property: - living area is spacious - kitchen is slightly tight but is well equiped (including a hot plate which allows for cooking). The kitchen also has a skylight! - bed is very comfortable; linens are crisp and clean - the bathroom and the toilet could be updated but did not cause us any concerns/issues. The bathroom does not have a plug so hair drying/straightening has to be done in the hallway (where a mirror is provided so it was ok for us) - location is great Overall, good value for money. We enjoyed our stay.

You can’t go wrong with picking the Petite Pod! Beautiful little container, separate from their home. And I made friend with one of their friendly cats :) Beautifully finished space! And nice touches for coffee & basic breakfast. Thank you!

The petite pod was wonderful, very clean, cosey and pretty. Communication was great and Matthew greeted us and checked us in. The fluffy grey kitty was an extra bonus and very friendly! We love kitty cuddles and the fresh coffee was a lovely touch. There is also a wee ginger kitty on site too. I would recommend this accommodation and would happily stay again.

Super cute “tiny house” style space! The bed is very comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. My husband is a tall guy and he fit just fine! The included breakfast was a nice amenity, and there was a small table and chairs outside perfect for enjoying the New Zealand weather with a cup of tea. If you are interested in tiny house living near all the fun stuff in Rotorua, definitely stay here!

Lovely little space with everything you need and a hot tub! Lovely and clean. Short walk to the town with shopping, food and a cinema. We only stopped over one night on our way through but could easily have stayed there longer. Although it's a pod it has everything you need and there are some basics too including cereal, milk, tea and coffee. Easy check in and a lovely welcome from Matthew and a good bye from Tracey. I would highly recommend.

The "petite pod" was just what we needed for our quick stay in Rotorua! It's a cozy little room behind the house, but they've made the absolute most of the space, and the location was very convenient to drive to local attractions (check out the "Hot And Cold" hot springs/geysers!) and to walk into town/dinner. Matthew and Tracey were communicative and accommodating and made everything very easy!

Very nice clean accommodation in Rotorua. There was everything you need for a good breakfast as well as a coffee machine! The park just outside is very interesting to see and you can walk to where the restaurants are.

We appreciate having a large stove and fridge, as well as a washing machine. We had totally privacy despite being next door to the owners house, which we greatly appreciated.

We only stayed for one night, but the house had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, everything was lovely and clean - couldn't have asked for more 😁😁

Everything was just as described! There were fun board games that we enjoyed playing with the kids. The full kitchen was wonderful for preparing meals. The hosts left lots of tips to let us know how things worked around the cottage. We slept well and enjoyed our time in Rotorua!

Staying with Gaelyn in her nice, cozy home was wonderful. It was the perfect place for relaxing and resting after several days with long distance drives and loads of activities. The breakfast was certainly one of the best that I was ever offered in an Airbnb, consisting of different types of muesli/cornflakes, yoghurt, fruit salad as well as a rich assortment of jams and spreads to put on toast. A side note for animal lovers: Be prepared to share the house with Autumn, Gaelyn's shy, but very sweet cat, who sometimes meowed quite a bit, although that never bothered my girlfriend nor me.

The location is amazing as it’s close to a lot of the main attractions! Gaelyn was really lovely and ensured we had a comfortable stay. She also gave us some great recommendations before we head off to discover Rotorua! Would definitely recommend staying here.

Very good hostel and host Answer your questions promptly It's not mentioned in the introduction, but there's an electric mat in the bed so you can't feel cold in bed. It was so satisfying that I was lucky to have stayed at this house in Rotorua. The only downside is that It's about 4km from the city. If you don't think there are any tourists coming to Rotorua by public transport, I think 4km is not a long distance by car. I was much more satisfied than I expected.

I absolutely loved staying at Matthew and Kelly’s place for 2 nights. It was easy to find and check in. The apartment itself has absolutely everything you might need. Fully equipped kitchen with fridge and freezer, washing machine, towels and some welcome snacks and drinks. Basically all the comforts and convenience of being at home. Plus it was incredibly clean! It’s a short drive Into town and to local attractions. Highly recommended!

Great base for exploring Rotorua and the surroundings. We met Menno when we arrived and he settled us in well, and gave us some local tips like the trip to the Redwood Forest (we didn’t do the canopy walkway - we just wandered along the paths. Beautiful!). Clean and simple place with a sunny garden for breakfast. And nice extra touches like chocolates on the pillow!

The honeymoon suite is the lower level of the house. It does connect to the rest of the house but it also has its own entrance and bathroom which is nice. They provided milk, tea, and coffee for us as well as many breakfast options. They also had many brochures for nearby things to do. One of my favorite parts was standing out by the water with my coffee and taking in the gorgeous views of the lake and their garden areas.

Greg & Lily’s place was perfect for our quick stop in Rotorua. It was just as we expected - clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The thoughtful touches were so sweet - fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, bread and jams. Very quiet, very close to the city center, pleasant house

First time in air bnb for this stay and was very pleased with everything.

Our stay at Win's studio was nothing short of amazing! Secluded, private and blissful. Inside was very tidy and clean, bed was extremely comfortable, great to lounge on after a long day. Kitchen was stocked with plenty of applicances and had all cooking amenities for a home cooked dinner. Shower was also very nice! Make sure you have a spa and enjoy the star lit sky, very beautiful. Would definitely stay here again, not far from the city centre of rotorua and very close to plenty of scenic lakes and sites. 10/10 would highly recommend.

We had a lovey stay at Wins place! The lakes around the home are absolutely stunning. Good proximity to tourist attractions. We were really happy with the little extras we were welcomed to like a bottle of wine, beer, and cereals. Hot tub was an added bonus. Pure tranquility.

A perfect little hideaway. Lots of little extras supplied with the room, that we havent experienced with other Air bnbs. So was a real treat! The whole space has so much thought and love put into it. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back one day.

Spectacular location and view out the bay windows. The amenities and their styling are outstanding and really allow you to relax in your own self contained space whatever the weather.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and well stocked, and the chocolates and wine were a thoughtful touch. Lauren and Sam were lovely hosts and even provided us with beach towels when we decided to take a spontaneous day trip to Tauranga. We enjoyed chatting with them and loved getting to play with Yogi the spoodle.

Heaven on earth ! We have stayed at Lauren and Sam place during our honeymoon road trip and could not have chosen a better place for our stay in Rotorua ! Lauren and Sam are the sweetest human beings you can expect for and will make all they can to make you feel comfortable right away ! They have everything you can hope for as equipment (barbecue, hot pool, canoes and paddle) and the view cannot be described by any word! Our only regret is that we could not stay longer ! Great place to stay at with a comfortable bed and friendly cats.

Lynette is a lovely host and makes sure her guests are comfortable any time. Cute cats and a well equipped kitchen, a sunny patio and a comfy bed. Bus stop just at the letter box: runs every 30min straight to the iSite - careful about check-out because it leaves shortly before 10 and otherwise will have you waiting half an hour!

Lynette was a fantastic host. The room was spotless. She let us use the washing machine and provided us breakfast. Fatty and skinny (cats) were friendly and adorable, an added bonus to pet lovers. Thanks Lynette.

I was here for 3 nights with some friends to explore the thermal area and it was a great location to stay at. The place is large, there is definitely enough space for everyone. The kitchen is well equipped. Would come back for sure!

What an amazing stay! The only downside was that we didn’t stay longer. Carole and Ian were wonderful hosts, who offered great suggestions for dining and activities. They were available when needed and respected our privacy. The space was sparkling clean and modern. Also very close to Rotorua! A 5 min drive to restaurants. The outdoor patio was very special- a little oasis with beautiful plants and the sounds of birds- a great place to enjoy morning coffee. Charlie the Cat is the welcome wagon and he is so adorable. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Carole's home is BEAUTIFUL and peaceful. She and her husband are lovely hosts. The location was great and easy to find. I'd definitely stay here again! I highly recommend staying here.

Secret Garden is a beautiful house. Even though kitchen is not part of the house, Carole politely accepted our request to heat our food. Very close to the blue green Lake circuit

Excellent location next to the beautiful Redwoods and a short drive to the city centre. Carole and her husband gave great tips for some nearby adventuring + food and were extraordinarily generous. A great stay!

The home garden is so well decorated! There is a key in the key box and separate toilet so you can relax comfortably from the host. Welcome food (simple fruit and snacks) was good too! 5 minutes by car from Redwood, 12 minutes to city center and quiet in quiet residential area. I think I'll go here again if I go back to Rotorua

Kathryn’s place was the perfect stay for my time in Rotorua. Her home is amazingly located, a short drive from all the attractions, local food, and nearby groceries. Comfortable and cosy room in a great location

Kathryn is a wonderful host. Privacy had being respected, yet she was there when we need local tips etc & being very responsive in communication when she’s not around. My friend and I stayed for a week, and totally felt like being at home. Very relaxing, loved her beautiful sustainable garden, very cozy place to stay.

David was a good host. We arrived very late because of our tour schedule, but he waited patiently for us. His house was very clean, and we were thankful that we could have breakfast comfortable. His house was in a quiet town very close to the lake.

David’s house is simply amazing. Sparkly clean and great space as you can see in photos. He provided us with heaps of stuff for the breakfast (milk, yogurt, egg) and we also have a nice space to hang our clothing after laundry. The next door cat is very friendly as well.

David is a really generous person and was quick to respond to a concern I had. I had a great stay here. It was cozy, quiet, clean and just across the street from some really pretty lake views.

Wonderful accommodation in Rotorua! Easy check in, peaceful location, great local tips, the studio was clean and the bed comfy. Hosts were super friendly. Would recommend!

Lovely quaint room with everything you need. Shane and Jules are very accomodating and are available to assist whenever possible. If you’re planning on running the Tarawera Ultra, this house is only 500 metres away from the starting point Te Puia (depending on race).

The cottage is a really nice place to enjoy your time Rotorua. It is pretty close to both Maori Villages and the Thermal Reserve. For all the other activities you'll find some information in the cottage. Shane&Jules have been very friendly and communicated well. The cottage has all you need to spend some great days in Rotorura. There even were some cold drinks in the fridge and cereals/toast for breakfast. I definitely recommend this place for your vacation.

Perfect location, gorgeous studio, superb stay. The room blew me away with how stylishly decorated it was, it had a lovely little nook sorrounded by windows where we would drink our coffee with breakfast in the morning and watch the birds. Plenty of privacy, but we were still able to chat with Shane and Julia a couple times. They had great suggestions for what to do around town. Overall really lovely experience.

We very much enjoyed our stay with John in Rotorua. He is a very friendly and kind person and was so good to us in talking about our travels and New Zealand - he offered maps, guides and lots of tips. John is a great host and the place is fabulous especially the yard. Even though it’s so close to the city centre you will still feel that you’re out in nature. Loved it! Thanks so very much John! <3

We stayed for two nights, which made us feel comfortable, and the landlord was friendly and showed us the place on a map. The stay was very enjoyable.

Really tidy and peaceful place to stay

We had a very comfortable and cozy stay. John was very helpful with advice on what fun things to do in the area were and we had a wonderful time.

John's place is one of the best AirBnB's I've ever stayed at. We booked our 2 night stay late the day before but got our booking confirmed almost right away. John is a great host who knows a lot about Rotorua and he really goes out of his way to make you feel at home. The house is really cosy, situated in a quiet area close to the city center by car/bike.

John’s place was very clean and had the basic amenities required! It is also located opposite a countdown supermarket and near to town. Would recommend this place!

While we didn't have any in person interaction, John was very responsive via text and let us know that we could come well before check-in time (due to another Airbnb-er leaving early), which was really nice. The place was clean, and had a fan which was a nice surprise. We had everything that we needed in our own little private part of the home. Also, parking was super easy, and having a grocery store across the street was really convenient.

John's small but very well equipped apartment is very centrally located with very good connections to shopping and tourist attractions. We particularly appreciated the privacy offered. Thank you very much for that!
