Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Upper Peninsula of Michigan

If you're planning a trip to Ironwood, Michelle and her place are fantastic! The house is clean and cozy, we were greeted with a bottle of Italian wine and a baggie of dog treats for our pup, and if you'll be cooking, the kitchen is very well stocked. The sauna was a nice treat at the end of a long day of waterfall hiking, and the location was very convenient for skiing, hiking, and visiting Joe's Pasty Shop! Michelle went above and beyond to ensure a great stay--when we had to delay our trip by a day due to driving conditions, she offered to extend our booking (unfortunately, we weren't able to take her up on this generous offer, but the gesture was greatly appreciated). Fantastic communication, thoughtful details (flip-flops for the sauna, a "just in case" drawer in the bathroom that includes contact solution, toothbrushes, etc.), and a cozy place made our first trip to Ironwood a great experience!

Wow. Just wow. This place is special. We had enough room for all the parents and grandparents to spread out, and still had areas of the home left over. The view of the water is simply serene 24 hours a day. Easily the best house we’ve stayed at in Houghton.

Overall, I give Bob and Linda’s lodge 5/5. It was exactly what I was looking for: an authentic off-grid UP experience. It’s clean and homey, and Bob and Linda are top notch hosts, going out of their way to make your stay a good one. If you’re looking for a great off-grid experience, this is it. However, it may not be for everyone. For example, we visited in October, and we had to heat the lodge through fireplaces as there is no central heating. I personally enjoyed that but can imagine others not wanting to deal with it. The lodge has an open concept floor plan, and I recommend guests consider sleeping arrangements carefully. While there are a ton of beds, there are few doors, and most sleeping areas don’t have one. So it may not be the best if you have people going to bed or waking up at different times.

Highly recommend this place for a quiet, relaxing getaway! We enjoyed the fire pit on a cold night and absolutely no road noise like you would closer to the city. Loved the amenities provided from kitchen items, bathroom items, and the fans in the bedrooms.

We enjoyed our stay at this secluded and peaceful home. Enjoyed a nice bonfire in the evening.

Wendy was a great and welcoming host. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying there anytime.

It was absolutely beautiful. The trees had just changed colors and it was such a nice view! It was quiet and private. During business hours, you can hear the wine tasting room but that didn’t bother me at all. We stopped in and the staff were super friendly and helpful. So happy to have visited. Highly recommend!

I can’t recommend Bridget’s place enough! My family and I came up to st ignace for a UP get away weekend and this was the perfect way to spend time together in the evening while also having privacy. The location is walking distance to Sheplers which was so convenient for getting to Mackinac island. The space itself is roomy, clean and gives you a beautiful view of Lake Huron. Bridget is also a prompt, clear and thoughtful host. If we ever get the chance, we will absolutely be staying with Bridget again in the future!

We enjoyed our stay while in town to ski. Easy walking distance to restaurants for a person that enjoys walking, even in the cold. Thanks for letting us stay in your cute airbnb!! Don and Jill

Accessible, convenient and clean. This spot is a 5 minute walk from downtown Walloon and the perfect accommodation for a short weekend visit. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed and only 15 or so minutes from downtown Petoskey! Would stay again for next year’s floral workshop!

I enjoyed my 5 nights stay at Lois’s place. She is very helpful , welcoming, sincere,understanding and accommodating. I had no regret staying at this home. Everywhere was spotless and tidy. This is a hidden gem ❤️ we took all 3 of our dogs for a last road trip for our old dog and this place was amazing for all of them plus us. Very close to town but also quiet. There were northern lights outside and we were able to view them. Will stay again if in the area

LOVED this place!! Such a cute, well maintained, private, peaceful, clean, comfortable farm stay on an amazing property with a lot to do in any season. I loved the hot tub. Didn't have time to use the sauna but it looked amazing from the outside! Very cool to see the lake and farm animals too. Jolynne was very friendly and had a lot of good clear instructions. Strongly recommend!

the place was immaculate despite the awful ice storm that has devastated the area. wonderfully kept and professionally clean. loved our time there enjoying pigeon river. The host Ronda is top notch. Couldn't be any better from short response times to detailed explanations on where things are located and check in was a breeze. The best hosts I've ever worked with. I plan on renting from her many more times in the future. If your looking for a place in the vabderbuilt area, she's the one your looking for. Thanks for the stay ~the Rubys

Beautiful getaway in the woods. We loved the sauna, wood stove, trails, and charm of the cabin. The kitchen was well supplied and it was a pleasure to cook there. Lovely sunlight throughout. We definitely hope to return.

Tammie's cabin was the perfect getaway for my birthday! It was very peaceful and relaxing. The cabin had everything I needed. The coffee bar was a huge plus for me. I enjoyed watching all of the squirrels, birds and deer right out the back window. I loved reading by the fire and casting a few lines in the river. I would love to come back in the summer to explore more of the area! Thanks so much again!!

Perfect for a winter getaway! Snowy trails on site made for great cross country skiing and snow shoeing. Fireplace perfect for relaxing after long day on the trails.
