"De Gulle pracht" Holiday home, Friesland

Our cozy vacation cottage, originally was an old stable that we (Caroline and Jan) converted together, with lots of love and respect for the old details and materials, into this "Gulle Pracht". Through a private driveway with parking, you reach the terrace with the spacious garden, a lawn with surrounding tall trees, where you can enjoy. Through the two French doors, you step into the bright and cozy living room with the white old beams and a fully equipped open kitchen. There is wireless internet available, TV and DVD. Because of the ceiling in the living room that has been removed, beautiful light falls in from the skylights and you have a view of the roof structure with the old round hoods. The beds are located on top of the two lofts. The comfortable double bed is accessed by an open staircase. The other loft, where a third or fourth bed can possibly be made, is only accessible by flexible guests via a ladder. It is not suitable for small children because of the danger of falling, but older children find it exciting to sleep there. Please note, the two lofts share the same large open space. Under the old beams, you can sleep peacefully, where only the sound of rustling trees, whistling birds or your deliciously snoring bedmate will be heard. The room is heated by central heating, but also only the wood-fired stove can heat the cottage comfortably. You will be provided with enough wood from us to start a cozy fire. Through an old stable door in the living room, you come to the bathroom with beamed ceiling and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a good shower, double sink and toilet. With its inlaid mosaics and all kinds of funny and old details, this space is also a feast for the eyes. There are two bicycles available for nice trips in the wider area (Harlingen, Franeker Bolsward). We may want to drop you off in Harlingen for a crossing to Terschelling. You can leave the car in our yard for a while. We, ourselves, live in the farmhouse which is in the same yard. We are available for help, information and advice for fun trips in our beautiful Friesland. Your cottage and our farmhouse are separated by our garden and the big old barn (with pool table), so we both have our own space and privacy. Kimswerd, located on the eleven city route is a small, quiet and beautiful village where our Frisian hero "de Grutte Pier" was born and lived. He still watches over us, in petrified form, at the beginning of our little street, next to the centuries-old Church, which is very much worth visiting as well. You can do your shopping in Harlingen, the supermarket is a fifteen minute bike ride away. The old port of Harlingen is 10 km from our cottage. Kimswerd is located just across the Afsluitdijk. From there, follow the signs N31 Harlingen/Leeuwarden/Zurich and take the first exit at Kimswerd, 1st right at the traffic circle, 1st right again at the next traffic circle, straight ahead at the intersection, across the bridge and immediately take the first left (Jan Timmerstraat). At the beginning of this street, next to the church, stands the statue of the Grutte Pier. We live in the farmhouse behind the church, Jan Timmerstraat 6, first wide gravel path on the right. - For small children, sleeping on the loft without a fence is not advisable because of the danger of falling. It's just fun for big kids, the loft is accessible by a ladder. Please note, it is 1 large open space upstairs with no privacy.

Luxury Voorhuis monument - OPTION Hot tub & Sauna

The Voorhuis of our national monument farm has been renovated into a fully luxurious suite with its own facilities. The original details, such as the high ceilings, the bedstee walls and even an original bedstee where you can sleep, have been preserved. No less than 65 m2 with a private kitchen, spacious living room and separate bedroom with free-standing bathtub. Toilet and spacious walk-in shower. With the option, at an additional cost, to use the hot tub, sauna and outdoor shower, you will be wonderfully.

The Landscape

In this luxurious spacious home, you can experience rural life at its best! With a magnificent view over the countryside in the characteristic landscape of the Frisian Forest, it is wonderful to unwind. Even from your bed enjoying the great views and a beautiful sunrise. Who knows, you might spot the deer, cows, birds and hares in the meadow. Enjoy the alpacas in the yard. The Landzicht is a nice starting point to explore the surroundings. Located near nature reserves, Drachten and the A7.

Luka's Hut, eco-cabin with sauna by the river

Luka's Hut, our beautiful eco-cabin, sits on the banks of the Ganzendiep river in Overijssel. Huge windows provide stunning Dutch views onto the river, the grass meadows with cows & sheep and a picturesque village in the distance. The river is quiet water so have a sauna & a swim, take out the kayak, big canoe or SUPboard. We have a heatpump for the floor heating, and used upcycled items such a charming wood-stove, a fantastic bath, a fully-equipped kitchen, bikes, a firepit & trampoline.

Apartment Landleven is located in a quiet area. About 10 minutes' walk from the Wadden Sea and 10 minutes' drive from the beautiful harbor town of Harlingen. The apartment is 60 m2 and has a private parking space, private entrance and private garden with veranda. The apartment is characterized by a cozy and luxurious look. A modern steel kitchen with beautiful SMEG appliances. In the kitchen is a beautiful wooden table that can also be extended, so you have plenty of space to work!

Cozy, complete, clean, stylish, that's what our guests often write. The B&B is suitable for 2-3 people. Spacious living room with private shower and toilet and private entrance. Beautiful upper floor with a lovely box spring. In the living room, a nice sofa bed. Good WiFi, smart TV, Nespresso machine, coffee maker, milk frother, kettle, fridge, combi microwave and kitchenette (no cooking facilities). Gourmet, wok, etc. are not allowed. Breakfast is not included in the price.

Within walking distance of the center of Bolsward, on the Workumertrekvaart, the original Frisian Eleven Cities Route, is our rural farm. In this rural and water-rich environment, we offer you a spacious room, which is equipped with a large double bed, (2x0.90), TV/seating area and a completely new bathroom with Jacuzzi. Extra sleeping accommodation is possible. We have recently created this new space in our former cowshed, which is adjacent to our private home.

In a dream location - 150 meters from the most beautiful Nordstrand beach Fuhlehörn - is the enchanting Nordstrand Mermaid House with two apartments. This small 40 sqm apartment on the ground floor is ideally suited for two people. On request, three people can stay here. The third person can sleep in the alcove under the stairs. The bedroom can be closed by a door. Above this sea-like apartment is the Nordstrandnixe über Land.
