The perfect romantic retreat! Herne Bay is a charming quintessentially British seaside town with lots to offer. Lovely small boutiques and independant shops. Great restaurants and cafe's, coastal walks / cycle paths to Whitstable & Reculver Towers and beyond as far as you wish to wonder. Stroll on the pier with its arts and crafts stalls at weekends, old fashion amusement arcades, a fab old time bingo hall, original bandstand with lots of events in summer. The perfect spot for a romantic break. Historic Canterbury (7 miles) and the charming town of Whitstable (4 miles) is a short drive or bus journey away. There is a cycle path on the seafront that will take you to Whitstable one direction and Margate, Broadstairs and beyond the other. On booking will send you a full guide on the area, great places to eat, drink and places to visit. I'm an Airbnb Superhost and passionate that all guests have a great stay. Please see my ratings. Communal front lawn and terrace, perfect for BBQs and sundowners. I will normally be there to meet and greet guests on arrival. If not I will send key collection details the morning of your booking. My housekeeper lives close by and is on hand if needed during stay. Herne Bay is a charming quintessentially British seaside town with lovely, quirky, and independent shops, as well as great restaurants and cafe's, coastal walks and cycle paths to Whitstable & Reculver Towers and beyond—a perfect place to wander. I will send you a comprehensive list with some amazing places to eat drink, walks to enjoy and places to visit. Local busses to Canterbury and Whitstable. Herne Bay station is a 10/15 min walk or £3 taxi ride from the apartment. The station serves all of the Kent coast, Whitstable - 7 mins - Margate - 15 mins - Broadstairs and its sandy beaches - 20 mins. London Victoria and London St Pancras International easily reached in 1 hour and 20 mins approx. Note: A minimum 2 night stay applies all year round.

Boat House, Relax in a Whitstable Fisherman's Cottage

Watch the latest catch come in at the working harbour, then wander back via one of Whitstable's many good quality local restaurants, then home to this comfy and cosy period cottage tucked behind vibrant Harbour Street. Original fireplaces and soft, whitewashed floorboards retain the traditional character. Boat House cottage is decorated to a high standard and is bright and clean. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need to prepare meals. However if you wish to give yourself a break from cooking you will be perfectly located in a quiet street, tucked behind the bustling Harbour Street the centre of Whitstable’s cafes, pubs and restaurants and of course the beach is only a hop, skip and a jump from there. Boat House is in the heart of the conservation area and the street leads on to the famous Harbour Street which is full of great boutiques and cafes and only moments from Whitstable Beach. The south facing garden is a real sun-trap and a very nice place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. I provide great quality bedding to make sure you get the most comfort on your holiday with a selection of feather and anti allergy pillows depending on your preference. The beds are John Lewis pocket sprung mattresses with quilted underlays to give maximum comfort and duvets from the white company with either linen or 400 thread count Egyptian cotton duvet covers. Boat House is suitable for adults and children so we can accommodate all combinations of parties and travel cots and booster seats are available on request. Whitstable is a quirky town famous for farming the Whitstable Native Oyster. Bracing strolls along the beach or a refreshing swim in the sea, help to work up an appetite before a pot of cockles and a pint in the pub, a great meal in one of the town's many restaurants or browsing the boutiques on nearby Harbour Street. There are so many easy ways to unwind and relax here in Whitstable. The train station is a 10 minute walk and very pleasant if you come through Stream Walk which is a pedestrian cut through on the way from the station. The Cathedral city of Canterbury is nearby and makes a fascinating historic alternative to chilling out on the beach if you want to absorb some culture while you are here for good measure! Either take the bus or a taxi if you have not brought your own car. Margate which is undergoing a revival is 20 minutes on the train. There you can enjoy the Turner Contemporary art gallery and lots of vintage shopping in the Old Town and the amusement park Dreamland which has recently reopened having been restored. Other towns along the coast worth exploring are Broadstairs and Ramsgate for their different styles of beach walks. Whitstable is only 90 minutes on road or rail from London.

Fisherman's Cottage, Whitstable

Our cosy Fisherman's cottage benefits from being a few metres from the main street out of the front door and a few metres from the beach out of the back gate. In summer 2021 it was renovated and upgraded, benefitting from a complete redecoration, addition of an open en suite, woodburner and brand new furniture throughout. We hope that we have created a cosy, slightly rustic retreat, with everything guests need for a comfortable experience. Bear in mind there are steep stairs. Children over 12.

Vine Cottage is our little escape in the lovely seaside town of Whitstable. It's a stones throw from the beach and just off the bustling high street full of great independent shops and it's well known restaurants and bars. Vine Cottage is the ground floor of a victorian terraced house which unusually has its own side entrance into the flat and a sunny garden to eat and relax in There is a travel cot, and pets are welcome. All good sized rooms and with the garden the flat is bright and airy.

Traditional terraced house converted into a stylish one bedroom home that is yours exclusively. It is an ideal home for a couple looking for a restorative break by the seaside. We live here part time so it is fully equipped and the amenities are all available for you to use, including beach kit.
