This is a private guesthouse surrounded by nature, located in the quiet southern part of Yakushima. A small river flows right in front of you, and you can enjoy a special time surrounded by the forest and the starry sky. The biggest attractions are the open-air bath and sauna. You can only enjoy this kind of experience here, in the forest, while listening to the babbling of the river. During the day, be soothed by the greenery, and at night, slowly relax your mind and body under the starry sky. It is right next to the river, so you can swim or go to the river from the open-air bath. There is also a deck, so please use it for breakfast or coffee time. There is a neighbour's garden diagonally opposite the river, so it is not a completely private space. We recommend bringing your own swimwear. The sauna stove is a Japanese-made Blossom sauna. You can enjoy a high-temperature sauna. The accommodation fee includes all of the following: ・ Open-air bath and sauna (please use by 10 pm) ・ Sauna poncho & sauna hat ・ Towels (additional towels can also be provided) We will prepare futons for any additional guests from the third person onwards. Infants stay free of charge, but if you would like to rent futons, we can provide them for 1,000 yen per set per day.

Entire cottage, Onuma Snapper Lock, private forest, glamping

Snapper Lock is a private cottage at the foot of Mt. Mocchomu in Onana, southern Yakushima. The nearest bus stop is a 6-minute walk. It is a quiet place surrounded by nature. The large living room of about 32 ㎡ can accommodate up to 5 people. (One is a sofa bed) The deck has an outdoor table and hammock, and a completely private forest spreads out. You can relax while taking a forest bath. Parking is also available for 2-3 vehicles. There is also a fire pit on the premises. The building was self-built by the owner. The building materials used are Japanese cedar and local cedar. The walls are plastered with lacquer, and the kitchen is made from recycled waste materials. We aim to be an inn that is friendly to both people and the environment, by not providing disposable amenities and keeping equipment to a minimum. There are insects and wild animals on Yakushima, so be careful to keep them out by closing the screens when you open the windows. Note: Several times a year, from 8 am to 9 am during the rainy season, large numbers of "feather ants" will appear on the island. They are attracted to lights, so we ask that you close the windows and turn off the lights in the room. Thank you for your understanding.

A whole inn, Suipingxian

This is a private rental accommodation on a hill overlooking the horizon of Shima-yakushima, a World Natural Heritage site. Enjoy a relaxing time with family and friends in a spacious 77-square-meter old house. There are few houses around, and it is a quiet place surrounded by trees and a small stream. You can see the sea to the east, so you can sometimes see the moonrise. The starry sky is also very beautiful. Anbo town is a 10-minute drive, convenient for shopping and eating. The popular Jomon Sugi mountain climbing bus stop is a 15-minute drive away. If you're having trouble finding a rental car, you can car share the owner's car (using the Carstay app). It is a light vehicle with a capacity of 4 people and it is a cargo car, so the ride comfort is not the best, but it is a 4WD with plenty of luggage space. We have another beautiful self contained house nearby which caters for up to 6 people. Have a look “South Coast House “ It is a Japanese house near the popular sightseeing spot "Hirauchi Kaichu Onsen" in the southern part of Yakushima.It is within walking distance with Yudomari Onsen.We recommend renting a car because it is far from the popular mountain climbing course.

Fisherman's living experience inn: Fuku no Ki

Yakushima is famous for mountains, but the sea, fish are also attractive. This inn is a bit inconvenient, but we treat you like family. And you can eat delicious fresh fish. The building is a converted fisherman's barn. We will cook fish together, heat Goemon bath with firewood, and provide you with a stay as if you were living with us. One cooking experience is included during your stay. On other days, you will stay without meals. Optional fishing boat tour (extra charge) is also available.

Miyanoura Port Convenience: Riverside Entire home

We chose our accommodation's location carefully to make it as convenient as possible. Yakushima is quite remote and doesn't have many transportation options. Yakushima is relatively large, covering about 100 kilometers. There are restaurants and supermarkets scattered around, but it can be challenging to find rental cars or taxis. →You can walk to popular restaurants in just 3 minutes, so you can have a great meal and easily return. Additionally, a supermarket is only a 7-minute walk away.

Ocean view guest house Yakushima - Cottage

This location is very quiet & secret place for vacation home. There is a small Tatami room like a tea celemony room that you can use as yoga, meditation etc. for your private time. However, no kitchen facility. We provide an electric pot,cups,small dishies, refrigerater, microwave and oven grills toaster, so you can bring some food etc. There is sea and forest view from the guest cottage. Cottage is made in Japanese style with aromatic local cedar wood , open beams, and Shoji screens.
