Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Appenzell Ausserrhoden

I was in the house with my parents and sister with 2 children. Everyone felt very comfortable from the start. The house is great and decorated with a lot of love. Nothing is missing. The house is very suitable for children, it has a lot of toys, 2 cribs, baby monitor, etc.

The small cottage reflects coziness and warmth. The loving decor makes for a welcoming ambiance, while the spotless cleanliness makes the stay particularly pleasant. We spent New Year's Eve here. Annina and Tim welcomed us nicely, with cervela and salad, which they prepared especially for us. The highlight was the hot tub - just great to warm up there in the evening surrounded by winter scenery!

There were two of us in the beautiful part of Wendy and Sven's house. Wendy welcomed us and showed us the charming apartment in her Appenzell house. In the spacious kitchen we were able to cater perfectly, the fridge is large and there is plenty of dishes available. Great that there is also a dishwasher! Tabs, detergent, sponge, enough kitchen towels, everything available. Also plenty of towels and toilet paper. We didn't miss anything. We took beautiful hikes and had good food in neighboring Heiden. We also visited the Henry Dunant Museum in Heiden - very interesting! In the cozy living room, we were able to relax well and review our experiences. The ceilings and door frames are low because it is an old, very pretty, renovated Appenzell house, you have to be a little careful. We're looking forward to our next visit with Wendy and Sven!

The property was as described and very clean. There was everything you need and we felt very comfortable.

Our stay was perfect in all parts. The cottage is centrally located and yet very quiet. The setup is in all parts of the description. We highly recommend holidays in Appenzell.

The apartment is centrally located yet quiet. The train station, supermarket and bakery are a 5-minute walk away. The kitchen is very well equipped (including raclette oven and fondue caquelon). It is worth booking at least three nights to benefit from the best holiday card in Switzerland (including free check-in and return by train). We felt very comfortable with Hans and Hildegard and will come back.

Very positive experience overall. Tarik's place met my expectations; the neighborhood is quiet and at a walking distance from the main station. Tarik was incredibly responsive and helpful during my stay. Definitely recommend it!

We felt very comfortable with Rosemarie. She provided a crib and high chair for our 2-year-old daughter. We really appreciated that. Communication was great and we found the place easily. You can walk quickly to the village and the train station. So you can leave the car parked the whole vacation. We liked it very much. Always happy to come back!

Very nice apartment with a wonderful view over the east end of the city. Charming, quiet, and practical. Note: 5 flights of stairs, no elevator. No problem if you are in decent shape.

we spent almost 5 months of our lives here, and all I can say is it was an absolute pleasure and experience to have lived here, and we would definitely be back to this place that we called home.

The place was beautiful. It has an open loft character. We felt very comfortable there. Everything was great for us. That all worked out for us as it was. The beautiful view from the living room window overlooking the nature and the birdsong was very beautiful. The one mentioned below was no problem for us. Tip: you have to bring your own small bowls to pack snacks on the go or pack a little airtight in the fridge. For people with light sleep, I would like to have said that wood is just working. This wooden staircase or the floor makes crashing noises when you go down or move along in the living room.

Great Airbnb. I’d stay here again. It was easy to find and it was clean. The town is right in an area where it’s easy to get to a lot of nearby towns and attractions in both Switzerland and Austria.

We felt very comfortable in the apartment and are very happy to recommend it. The quiet location with views over meadows and mountains and cow bells in the distance immediately creates a holiday mood. The apartment is very well appointed, the bathroom very comfortable and the beds (all three!) are ultra comfy. Irene also put together tips in the area. The contact was very nice and privacy is available for the guests at all times. And as other guests before us wrote, we were also happy about delicious cheese, drinks and more, including Easter eggs :-)

Beautiful little apartment from which you can walk to everything important in Herisau. The amenities were great and nothing was missing. Parking spot outside the house is great.

My brother and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Jasmin’s lovely apartment. She and Clement were so welcoming and provided us with breakfast goodies as well. The apt was close to the Theater bus stop and it was extremely easy to get around if we chose to walk to the main sights. There was both a wonderful bakery and coffee shop less than a block away. I very much recommend this spacious apartment.

We had a wonderful time at Susanne's place. The apartment is so lovingly decorated, a great mix of modern elements and many traditional old furniture. There was everything you could want: from children's dishes, to a wide selection of spices, to children's toys, which Susanne even increased after we checked in. In addition, the surroundings are the perfect starting point for numerous excursions. You can quickly get to larger places, both by car and by train, can start hikes directly in the village or go with children to the playground, pump trail, etc. Shopping is also within walking distance. All in all, it was a wonderful holiday in the best Airbnb for us so far! Thank you Susanne :)

We had a pleasant stay over Easter weekend and felt right at home. Ines's place is bright and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking pots and utensils. The loft has a very low ceiling and the ladder up is quite steep, so really suited just to the young and agile. Getting into St. Gallen by car only took a few minutes.

The place was ideal for my short stay. Check-in uncomplicated, accommodation as described and clean. Very well connected to the public transport network, quiet location. We'd love to come back!

This studio is excellent and the kitchen is perfectly equipped. We felt right at home from the first moment, also ideal for longer stays. Whether St. Gallen or the Appenzeller Land, Lake Constance or the city of Zurich, Gossau can be reached by public transport. V. comfortable there. We'll be back for sure.
