We had such a wonderful time! The cottage was so peaceful, absolutely beautiful and completely redone! Extremely clean and fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. It felt just like home right when we walked in the door. There was plenty of room for our family of three. Our 2yr old LOVED the huge yard and dock. The views of the sound from every window are AMAZING!!! The pictures just doesn’t do it justice! The sunrises were breathtaking and the night sky was just as pretty. Ms. Patricia was always so kind and quick to respond. We truly appreciated that! Thank you for allowing us to stay!

I was so grateful to have a time of respite with my 81 yr old mother there over Easter break. The space is lovely and there was almost no one there on the island during that time so it was quiet and peaceful! Mikey was super open to helping me troubleshoot a few needs and I appreciated his thoughtfulness:) 2 notes to future guests: 1) The path to the beach is not well marked and there's a sign that says "Private" - we had to walk around and find someone to ask. and, while it might be a 0.2 mile walk, that distance (for us, anyway) was through deep sand - pretty tough for an 81 yr old. 2) The beach is not a regular coastal beach - it's in a sound so it's much more like a lake with no waves. Also, if the wind is right, the water could be pushed so far out it would be difficult to actually swim. We didn't care a whit but I can see how a family arriving with boogie boards and older kiddos might be disappointed.

My husband and I loved the cozy cottage by the bay. The view is absolutely breathtaking and it is quiet and private. It was the perfect getaway we needed. Violet is so kind and responsive. She knows all about what’s around in the area. We had everything we needed at the cottage. We didn’t have to bring sheets or towels which was a huge plus. Me and my husband had a great weekend! We checked in Friday and then Saturday drove down to Harkers Island to hop on the ferry to cape lookout where we saw the horses and Cape Lookout lighthouse. Afterwards we grabbed lunch at Fish Hook and then came back to Cedar Island and walked the Lola Road Trail. That night we went to Wild Wills Revenge for the prime rib dinner and it was the best prime rib we’ve had! It’s only 15 minutes from the cottage! If you’re looking for a quiet and slow weekend then this is the place to go. Be surrounded by friendly locals and the beauty of nature.

I had a lovely stay at this cozy cabin, a really nice little space. It was great being right on the water and being able to sit on the porch and watch the egrets etc on their pathways over the sound in the morning and evening. Lots of bird activity all around. And it was fun to take the 2-hour ferry to Ocracoke from Cedar Island (20 minutes drive) and the short ferry to Cape Lookout National Seashore from Atlantic or Davis (nearby) -- both destinations have ocean beaches (since the house is on the sound). The house felt very peaceful and secluded, all I could hear was wind and birds! A great spot if you want to be directly on the water, have a lot of privacy and quiet, and avoid the hubbub of a beach town. I'll hope to return for another quiet retreat!
