We can welcome 6, with two double bedrooms and a large double sofa-bed in the galleried landing area. A spacious living area leads to a quiet outdoor patio with rural views. The grounds the cottage are located in are surrounded by a large moat which contains unprotected deep water. Unsuitable for young unsupervised children.

The Little Secret

We welcome you to our "Maison du Gardien" ( The Caretaker’s House) a 19th Century distiller's house which has been lovingly renovated to create a place of contemporary design, contemplation and relaxation. Located next to our own home you can enjoy an evening meal on your own private terrace but also get the use of our pool, gym, bikes and parking on our gated property. The two bedroom house is light and airy with beautiful views over our garden which reaches down to the river Charente.

Gîtes de Javarzay Verbena Gîte

Verbena Gîte is a cozy, spacious retreat in a peaceful semi-rural setting—perfect for relaxing after a day exploring. Enjoy nearby Chef-Boutonne and beyond, with everything you need for a memorable family stay. During the cooler months (January–May and October–December), firewood is provided for the log burner; additional wood can be purchased if needed. Electric wall heaters: We include an allowance of 15 kWh per day usage . Usage above this will be charged at €0.1481 per kWh.

It comfortably sleeps 8 in 3 spacious bedrooms - large bedroom with 4 singles en suite upstairs and 2 double bedrooms and bathroom on ground floor. Can be booked with our smaller gite to sleep 13 in total. Awarded 4* rating by Charente Maritime Tourist Board. All bed linen and towels are provided. Welcome basket on arrival and pool towels are available.
