A gorgeous ancient house with a lovely garden and a gracious and attentive host.

Kazushi-san is an excellent host. Many hosts do not directly interact with guests. Kazushi-san is not like they are. He was waiting at the door and stayed in contact at all times. He was very clear on rules and expectations for the home. He also provided suggestions for nearby places. His English is quite good as well. The location is excellent if you need access to the Tokyo metro or Tobu line. The only things missing from this stay are an on-site washing machine (there is coin laundry down the street), a bidet for the toilet, a proper table for items and sitting, such as for dinner (there are small tables about knee-height, meaning you must sit on the floor or lean over the futon) and noise reduction for the street. There is a restaurant downstairs and many pedestrians make noise as they work and talk in the street. It is not a quiet place outside. I found the bed comfortable but it has a very low top bunk meaning you cannot sit under it. I will gladly stay here again. Thank you!

jiji san waited me in the doorstep,and a perfect day begins. to other coming tourists, this place is far away from the city,if you are interested in Japanese countryside,just come here. they got bath,toilet ,all clean, manga inside,the host Jiji san will be a nice guide if you want to go to the ninja culture exhibition,that is low price but valueable option,unique experience , believe me

The house is not far from the bus and train station and looks beautiful. The main house, as well as the annex, are furnished in the old Japanese style. We will be happy to come back!

Super clean and cozy place

Thank you very much for taking care of late check-in. The room was spacious and beautiful everything was good. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

My partner and I stayed for 1 night and once we arrived from Tokyo we immediately felt fully indulged in its calming surroundings. We enjoyed watching the goat grazing in the garden and the community harvesting the fields. They really promote sustainability and make you experience how it is like to live an organic lifestyle, which I found very good and interesting. The Airbnb building is spacious and the lighting makes it very cosy. The only thing is that some air comes through the door (there are some gaps), so better use the extra blanket if you easily feel cold. Next to the main Airbnb is a small house, where you will find the toilet and have a bath. It looks quite simple, but everything was really clean and thought-through. All in all it was truly a special experience that I would definitely recommend!

Five stars isn’t enough, the perfect relaxing location! Surrounds are so beautiful and peaceful and the sauna/spa was the best part of our Japan trip. Muto was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed, from collecting us at the train station to taking us to the beach, as well as cooking delicious breakfasts and some of the best cakes we have ever eaten. The accomodation is of a luxury standard, but feels very intimate and cozy. Lying in the bath looking out into nature is a truly special experience that we will not forget.

It was very stylish, spacious, and clean. I am very satisfied with all the equipment and facilities. We would like to stay again when we visit Awaji Island. Thank you!

Thank you for a truly wonderful time. I was able to experience an authentic sauna, a nice space to relax, a delicious breakfast, and above all, the owner, Muto-san's personality, was also very nice. Very cool and cozy place to stay!

very spacious place, we were surprised by the space when we came in. the location is fantastic, right in the heart of Gion and everything was very accessible. Our host was gracious to show us everything we needed to know about the place. Finally, it's on the 2nd floor with a staircase to get up and there are two keypadded doors to get through. This can be a little bit of extra work compared to staying at a hotel but worth the trade off.

We had a lovely stay at Hasu! Easy to get to from the train station and located well to access nearby sights or transport. Phenomenal remodel of this machiya! Absolutely gorgeous. Cozy and intimate. Would definitely seek this out for my next stay in Kyoto.

It was a great place to stay.My husband and wife were very kind.The children were also very attentive, and there were toys, baby barley tea, soap, etc., and the futons and children seemed to be very happy.I was impressed by the service that brought me a hot water bottle at night!It's a hard place to go, but it's a great place to relax.The udon class was also fun, and the udon noodles were emotionally delicious!

in a remote location, only accessible by rental car. beautiful scenery. you MUST visit the Tairyuzi Ropeway and the temple in the mountains that it takes you to. allow 4 to 5 hours.

impeccably clean and spacious place. with all the things needed you cam settle quickly and comfortably, mid way to Nara. be careful with parking outside the estate though- tricky drainage especially in the dark. Great value for money
