Beautiful Apartment Connected to an Art Gallery
This stunning minimalist-inspired home adds its own artistic flair to the decor by placing bold and exciting art pieces throughout every room. With hardwood floors and black and white fixtures, each space has an elegant charm and character. Impressum Aglaja Schott Gütlingstr. 18b 14167 Berlin Our space is truly unique because it offers our guests to experience art while living in Berlin's popular district Mitte. The gallery and apartment is owned by an artist, who designed the space to show his work. Guests will have access to the whole gallery, but for rent is only the private apartment adherent to the gallery, including a small kitchen, a combined living sleeping area with a loft style bathtub and attached separate bathroom with shower. The other sleeping area can be separated by movable walls and has an extra bathroom with shower and toilet as well. Guests also have access to the back yard until 10 pm. Our aim is, to welcome all our guests personally and show them around and help them getting started in Berlin. Since we are also living in Berlin we are happy to help if any difficulties occur during the stay. It's Mitte, means closed to all cultural attractions, shopping and nightlife, but still quiet and you don't feel like living in a "bar". I like to call it the "new quiet Mitte" since recently a lot of luxury apartment buildings were constructed next to existing architecture, so it's for Mitte a pretty quiet neighbourhood, but Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint Charlie, Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstraße are all within easy walking distance (10min) Subway station (U-Bhf) Spittelmarkt 2 min walk. Several busses 3 min walk at Leipziger Str. Walking distance to Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint Charlie, Alexanderplatz and Friedrichstraße about 10 min. You can only access your apartment through the gallery, which may be gently used by the artist. Your apartment is private and will during your stay not be accessed by us. Guests will have access to the whole gallery and fully equipped kitchen, but for rent is only the private apartment adherent to the galery, including a combined living sleeping area and a loft style bathtub and separate bathroom with shower and toilet. Guests also have access to the back yard until 10 pm. Guests will rent a total of about 75sqm, including a combined living sleeping area including a loft style bathtub, separate bathroom with shower and toilet, plus another sleeping area with an extra attached bathroom. All about Berlin
One of Europe’s most vibrant cities, Berlin revels in its artistic appeal. Across its 12 distinctly diverse boroughs, you can encounter art and architecture from baroque to Bauhaus and everything in between. One day you might stroll the gardens of Prussian palaces like Sanssouci and Charlottenburg, the next you’ll be tripping over bizarre Pop Art icons like the Bierpinsel building. Markers of the city’s former division into East and West are a powerful reminder of Berlin’s journey. Its commitment to remembering the past is evident in its profusion of museums and monuments, from the UNESCO-protected Museum Island to its moving Holocaust Memorial. The city is also a melting pot of influences, where thriving immigrant communities have created a legacy of Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine alongside the shopping boulevards of Kurfürstendamm.
What are the top things to do in Berlin?
Mauerpark
Berlin breathes in its green spaces, from the vast western Tiergarten with its boating lake and picturesque gardens, to Tempelhofer Feld, the repurposed airfield that’s now a popular spot for skateboarding. The Mauerpark in the Prenzlauer Berg district offers a chance to hang with the locals. On Sundays, its flea market draws neighborhood regulars, and on Sunday afternoons the atmosphere is enhanced by an outdoor karaoke session.
Topography of Terror
Checkpoint Charlie is the congested junction of Berlin Wall tourism, surrounded by souvenir stalls that give it a surreal feel. But you only have to walk a little way down the street to reach this far more affecting destination. The longest surviving section of the Wall still stands here, next to a powerful museum built on the former site of the Gestapo and SS hardquarters, which documents the atrocities carried out by the Nazi government’s terror campaigns.
Nikolaiviertel
The oldest residential district in Berlin, Nikolaiviertel dates back to the 13th century, although the village-like buildings you’ll see there today are mostly immaculate reconstructions. It’s a gorgeous spot from which to enjoy the river Spree, with quirky shops and cafes, the 18th-century rococo Ephraim Palace, and organ concerts every Friday in the gothic St. Nicholas Church, from which the area gets its name.
