Mökki means "cottage" in Finnish. Spend your time in a special place surrounded by nature. Guest house Mökki is located in Shinano-cho, which is blessed with forests, lakes and snow in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture, and there are many natural places such as Kurohime Kogen, Lake Nojiri and Togakushi nearby. You will have full access to a comfortable building renovated with natural materials such as cedar, cypress, and plaster, a natural garden that creates seasonal views, and a forest with a stream.In the forest that we have been maintaining, you can see birds, squirrels, and raccoon dogs, and you can enjoy strolling around looking for wild vegetables and mushrooms, as well as swings and hammocks. We have also paid special attention to the interior of the room and kitchen utensils so that you can enjoy 'living'. At the pavilion by the stream, you can enjoy BBQ and campfires without worrying about the weather. It is ideal as a base for hiking, fishing, paddleboarding and golf in the green season, and as a base for winter sports in the snow season. It is a calm space with an old house motif. The living room has a large sunken kotatsu style Irori fireplace where you can enjoy meals and drinks. There is also a 4-seat counter bar. Nozawa Onsen Ski Area, Shiga Kogen, Madarao Kogen Ski Area, and Tohachi Onsen Ski Area are all nearby, making it the perfect base for winter sports. In the green season, there are eight golf courses within an hour, including the Madarao Country Club, and many day-use hot spring facilities. The owner lives on the right side of the entrance and can be contacted at any time, and understands everyday conversational English. In the green season, you can harvest fresh vegetables from our own farm at any time, and enjoy a barbecue in the garden. The garden is also spacious, so you can also enjoy a short walk. Iiyama's specialty is the famous green asparagus, which can be enjoyed from May to July, and there is also a roadside station nearby where you can enjoy fresh vegetables and delicious buckwheat.

This house overlooks Lake Nojiri and has a superb view. There are several ski resorts (Myoko, Kurohime, Madarao) about 15-20 minutes away by car, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy the wood stove sauna and the water bath with a view. There are no private houses around, so you can listen to music and watch movies loudly. Because it is a house located deep in the mountains, we take the best measures, but in the warm season, insects come out. It snows a lot in winter. In autumn, fallen leaves dance. You will also need to adjust the wood stove fire yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but we promise you a great view and experience. Enjoy cooking with a counter kitchen with a view, condiments and cooking utensils. (There is no equipment for BBQ)

We recommend driving to explore more around the highlands and snow tires (or chains) are a must have during winter.
