Enjoy a unique retreat; 180 degrees of views from inside the home. Nestled at the end of a private road, our place is nearby great hiking and countryside wineries. The Glass House provides a magical space and nature retreat where individuals, couples, families and friends can gather together to re-connect with nature, each other, and themselves. The breathtaking mountain top views, the huge deck, hot tub, fireplace, and the open concept living space is unbeatable for the perfect getaway.
Peace awaits those who wish a respite from hectic life. Luxuriate on our glorious couch while enjoying the views from all sides. Soak in the hot tub while you watch the sun set or the stars twinkle. Walk in the surrounding hills, watch Netflix, set your atmosphere with Pandora, catch up with friends on WiFi and enjoy the peace and quiet of this country setting. *Different rates apply for events and video/photo shoots. Please message for details and permission.
We are located in a rural community of neighbors with acreages. After enjoying a 3.5 mile ride down an oak canopy road, you'll turn onto a dirt road and head into a peaceful San Diego back country setting where wildlife is abundant and your quiet alertness might catch you a glimpse of the natives. No street lights on our road and it is a dirt road so follow the directions under 'Location' carefully. Please understand that we are more of a retreat place than a 'San Diego Vacation' space. It takes 50 minutes to get to the San Diego airport from our home, so if you are hoping to visit the typical San Diego attractions you might prefer to find an AirBNB spot closer to the city. We are a great 'get-away', 'Oasis for the soul', 'Retreat', 'Break from the hectic life' kind of place.
  • If you are looking for a tranquil retreat, this is the place!

  • The Glass House is incredible. The hosts left music playing and the jacuzzi ready for us when we got there. We also had to make last minute changes to the reservation and our hosts were very accommodating. The space is well designed and the view of the outdoors is gorgeous. I would highly recommend this to anyone. We can't wait to come back!

  • The house is second to none. It was very clean, I was able to check in earlier than expected. The owner was quick to respond to any questions I had. The whole experience was was better than we could have hoped for. We would recommend this place to everyone. Loved it we would have given it 6 stars if we could.

  • The Glass House was lovely. The ceilings were higher than I expected and there were some thoughtful touches like makeup wipes and a little library. My only regret is that I didn’t arrive sooner in the day to enjoy the house longer. Highly recommend.

  • Beautifully, thoughtfully designed and decorated space. It feels as though you’ve walked into an architecture magazine editorial. All of the essentials are offered (from travel toothpaste to pancake mix!) + a large binder of local activities and restaurants. Our stay was the perfect quiet, serene retreat from busy SD.

    Aaron2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s place is wonderful! Perfect secluded spot with lots of privacy. The glass house is stunning and makes it feel like your outside even when you are sitting cozy on the couch. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a wonderful spot off the beaten path yet still close to amenities if you need something to do. Lisa responded to any questions promptly and gave great local recommendations. We will definitely will be looking at Lisa’s place next time we are in the area.

    Joseph2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is an excellent place to stay! I would be happy to stay here again. Thank you Lisa for hosting a wonderful visit. There are two notes I have here for others. Firstly, the wood burning fireplace can leave the house smelling a little bit smokey. We found this pleasant but more sensitive noses may have issues. Secondly, this property is very close to another house on the same lot and this could be bothersome for others. We had no problem with either one of these. Thank you!

    Derek2020-02-18T00:00:00Z

This fantasy dwelling was inspired by none other than J.R.R. Tolkien's, "The Hobbit". Equipped with an iconic round door, granite rock walls and beautiful wood beam ceilings, it's impossible not to experience total enchantment staying in this space. Whether you are a couple of hardcore LOTR fans or maybe a creative individual seeking solitude to unplug for inspiration, this space will surely deliver!
The bed is a queen sized Murphy bed, providing ample space for activities during the day and a super comfortable sleep during the night. The accommodations are simple: there are sinks, with running water, both inside and outside the hobbit house. There is a small closet to hang clothes, a wood-burning fireplace and built-in desk. There is also a small bar (on rollers) stocked with basic cookware, glassware and cutlery. There is no refrigeration system (no electricity), but we do have a top-of-the-line YETI cooler to keep any perishables cold, provided you bring your own block of ice. There is a Coleman propane camping stove provided, allowing you to cook indoors, or outdoors. Outside there is a fire pit BBQ, propane BBQ grill and an on-demand hot outdoor shower and flush toilet. There are plenty of seating areas, whether you would like to bring a chair(s) out around the fire pit, or sit on top of the living roof. The hobbit house is surrounded by hiking and walking trails and guests have access to the main house to use electrical outlets or the hot tub, both of which are a short walk (about 250 feet) from the hobbit house. *Note: The hobbit house has no electricity. Oh, and there is no cellular or Wifi signal near the hobbit house... if you would like to connect to Wifi, you are welcome to come hang out in/near the main house.
This property is located in a gated, private neighborhood. There are 21+ nearby wineries/vineyards within 8 miles of this property and a few local restaurants. The San Diego Safari Park is nearby as well.
  • My sister and I reserved this home for my brother as a birthday gift. He sent me this rave review! Loved this place! The owner was very helpful and provided us with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was an amazing and truly unique experience, especially if you’re a fan of The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings. I look forward to going back!

    Jenessa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, magical, inspiring hobbit house. I will look back on my stay there with my husband very fondly. The outdoor space (patio and rooftop seating) opens up to gorgeous views and the house itself is thoughtfully put together with very specifically shire touches. In short, I loved it.

    Jessi2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third time visiting the hobbit house. It is such an amazing place. So amazing, in fact, that we decided it would be the perfect place to elope. The hosts were wonderfully friendly, incredibly accommodating, and helped make our special day even more special. The hobbit house is not only as amazing as the pictures look, but the incredible grounds on which it is located are stunning. We had a great time and can’t wait to go back.

    Cathy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most magical and beautiful places I’ve ever stayed at! So worth it and I can’t wait to come back some day!

    Kylee2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • It’s hard to write this review because there is no limit to the positive things I could say. Everything was even better than I imagined and I have a very vivid imagination! Roy explained everything, left personal touches, was kind and funny, he gave us a pamphlet of local attractions highlighted and noted with his favorites and always greeted us with a smile. We left loving our stay and felt we made a new friend too!

    Karen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Roy’s place was so adorable and well worth the value! I brought my husband here and blew his expectations away; he wanted to go camping but I wanted some extra comforts, and Roy’s place was the perfect location. We only had one night away together, but it was such a quiet retreat. Future guests: the hosts provided lights and firewood, very convenient!

    Jennifer2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a unique and special place; unlike anything else that you are likely to find. It is private, intimate, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed the quirkiness of the outdoor bathroom facilities. The hosts are very hospitable and friendly. Also, if you are interested in wine tasting at all, there are many quaint wineries close by that produce some quality wines. It was a memorable experience that we would readily recommend to anyone looking for something different.

    Jeff2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly amazing!!! If your on the fence at all about staying here, DO IT! My now husband and I stayed here as a mini honeymoon and it could not have been more perfect. Can’t wait to repeat the experience in the future!

  • What a true escape from the city. We will definitely be coming back for the nature and the views!

  • Quiet cottage to get away from it all with everything you need including cooking basics and snacks. Excellent communication We loved nearby hiking and also enjoyed Safari Park and Anza Borrego.

  • The cottage is the most amazingly beautiful stay you will ever have. It is hard to put into worlds just how wonderful it is to stay at the mountain oasis cottage. Loved everything about the cottage. It was very hard to leave. Joanne is a very helpful and gracious host.

  • Excellent!

    Andy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a retreat away from everything this is certainly it. I was anticipating amazing views and stars at night (and they're were!), but what I didn't anticipate was how much I would like the inside itself! The cottage was literally perfect, it had everything I could have ever needed. I went on a solo retreat to do some work, brainstorm ideas, and also reflect on myself and future. From the deck outside listening to the birds, to the area up above the cottage where you could get lost in the calm, to the tables and desks inside; I had plenty of spaces to work and keep myself busy. At night the tv and couch was perfect to watch something. And the bed was perfect! I really enjoyed this place and hope to return again with my mom. Side note, anyone thinking about traveling my public transportation and Uber, it is possible but plan ahead! It's about a 2 hour commute from downtown San Diego and Ubers are few and far between. But if you're mindful and could even schedule your Uber ride, it's actually super affordable to get up here. $10 for the bus and however much Uber would cost you ($12-$16) Thanks again, I really enjoyed my time here.

  • Joanne's cottage is perched on a mountain with views of the surrounding green mountains with boulders. We loved the quaint cozy space, and will never forget the rich experience we had for my husband's 65th. Thank you Joanne for your hospitality all along the way! Debbie and David

Replace city lights with the Milky Way. Listen to crowing roosters and peacocks as they greet the morning and night. . Enjoy amazing Sunsets.
It's a ranch with fun friendly animals which if time allows I will introduce t you. As most of the critters are on my ranch I will have to be there . There is tons of wildlife as you would expect in the backcountry of Ramona. No need to bring anything except a smile and hugs for the critters Opps! My animals requested apples ,carrots and bread for treats ! We do have lots of wildlife so always watch where you are walking :0)
We are just up the hill from the Safari Park and down the hill from the old gold mining town of Julian. Lots of my guests are taking advantage of this and seem to enjoy these short day trips. The mountain is quiet from city noises, The howling coyotes and hooting owls replace cars and trucks.
  • Great little home and ranch with fantastic views!

    Raymond2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • So much fun to play with the animals! Wendy is super nice and chill. Great stay!

    Melissa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nice amenities, awesome view, private and peaceful, the peacocks are fun to watch.

    Jane2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • I let my wife pick this place for our family without looking at any of the info, and was pleasantly surprised by the location and vibe! This place is tucked away without many neighbors, so it’s extremely peaceful and relaxing. We had our young son with us and he was ecstatic with the abundance of animals to see and pet! The gigantic dogs and their free face licks were an added bonus. If you’re looking to get away from the city and unwind, this is a neat place to stay for the night or weekend.

    Jeff2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great small space for a get away with family!

    David2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a special treat! We choose this place as a New Year’s Eve getaway and it was absolutely perfect! Wendy was a great host. Her home is a magical sanctuary of animals and she gives you the opportunity to interact with and feed them if you’d like. We hand fed- llama, alpaca, goats, & sheep. She had pigs & horses, a pony, a donkey and awesome farm dogs! The peacocks live RIGHT outside the house- it was super neat watching them through the windows. Our dog enjoyed having her own yard to run around in. This place was amazing. It’s out there in the hills of Ramona, great sunset, great stars- and a great little getaway!

If you're looking for quiet, serenity, and peace you've found it here! If you're looking to party or hold an event, this is NOT the place. Please read through the rules before booking. Thank you!

We love living here for the peace and quiet. With dirt roads and off-grid homes, this is true San Diego countryside! We are about two miles away from Barona Casino, which has a great food court with plenty of international options and an excellent buffet. About four miles away is El Capitan hiking trail, which is known to be one of the toughest hikes in all of San Diego county. If you decide to hike this trail, be sure to read about trail safety, because it is very strenuous. There is also reasonably-priced gas and a mini mart at Barona Casino. We are about 30 miles away from downtown San Diego and about 32 miles away from La Jolla, which is the nearest beach. The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is about 20 miles away. We are 10 miles away from the quaint town of Ramona, CA which has wineries and outdoor opportunities. If you'd like to try horseback riding, there are many opportunities for lessons nearby off Willow Rd in Lakeside. We live next to several farms, so there are goats, horses, sheep, roosters, and cows nearby in the neighborhood.
  • Victoria and Ed's place is great! We were pleasantly surprised to find how spacious it was, and the view is top notch. They communicated really well, and we really enjoyed out stay. Thanks Victora / Ed!

    Josh2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Victoria and Ed were very thoughtful hosts. Upon my arrival to the property Victoria showed me around the guest house / property and answered any questions that I had. Her communication was always fast, their dog Zena was very friendly, and the fruit that they grow on their property was delicious! They left me a plate of all kinds of fruit in the guest house and told me if I wanted more then I could walk around their yard and have whatever I wanted. I had a wonderful time at their place and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thank you both so much!

    Dustin2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem of a guesthouse. The grounds are stunning and we enjoyed many hikes in the state parks within 10-45min drives away. Breathtaking views and serenity. Perfect for a getaway.

  • Victoria and Ed are very nice and friendly couple, their dog Zena too. You would love the mountain view and live in this nature environment, and enjoy staying in their 3 acres back yard.

    Luke2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts and guesthouse. Well furnished, delicious fruits, and great location away from the hustle & bustle. Recommended!!!

    Joon2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Victoria's guesthouse - super comfortable, well equipped and wonderful views. We loved exploring the area and Victoria was a great host.

    Julia2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t tell Victoria has a warm heart by the way she left fresh fruit from her trees in the guest house, the touches of cleanliness and comfort everywhere, nothing was lacking, traveling alone looking for some quite time is hard because of safety and Victoria’s and her husbands property made me feel that and safe. I felt like I was visiting family, in that I was given privacy but I knew I was welcome to reach out, I love watching the chickens and ravens. Walking around the place was a safe and quiet. Victoria even baked fresh apple cake and offered me some before I left but I did not see her! I wanted to not it anyway because of her thoughtfulness. I can’t wait to come back. I found an Oasis of peace and views with a circle of warm hearts Victoria her husband, Zena her dog and one of her cats that was hanging around. It felt far away and like home. That’s pretty special. Thank you again Victoria! I’ll be back soon. :-)

Nestled in a canyon in the backcountry of San Diego County lies Gnome Wood. These 120 acres of oak woodland and mountain terrain provide habitat for multiple species; including deer, bobcats and foxes; allowing them a segment of the wildlife corridor stretching between the ocean and the Cuyamaca Mountains. The valley teems with bird activity, from small songbirds to hawks, ravens and vultures. Whether you are a birder, writer, reader, hiker or just want some peace and quiet away from it all this natural sanctuary can provide this and more. The canyon is also shared with horses that roam the canyon freely, dairy goats, chickens, cats, an Australian Shepherd, organic gardens, and fountains sporting festive bird activity. Ramona Valley is recognized as an American Viticulture Area and boasts dozens of wineries featuring locally grown and produced wines. A number of them are nearby. Numerous preserves and County Parks are in the near vicinity and Chi or Kent would be happy to share more about them. The Mt, Woodson hike with the famous Potato Chip Rock is a mere ten minutes away! Enjoy watching birds from the front porch or read in the hammock. Take a walk up the mountain for stunning views of San Vicente Lake, Iron Mountain and Mt. Cuyamaca. Other than the Wi-Fi internet, you might feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Chi is a published author who writes about the area in her QUAIL MUTTERINGS which can be found on (website hidden). The Rock Tiny House This unique rock tiny house is nestled into an old stone patio complete with covered porch, air conditioning and wi-fi. This unique bungalow is complete with a rock and tile shower, full size bed, kitchenette and bathroom. This private area allows one to relax and enjoy nature. Come enjoy hiking in the canyon and watching the birds. Or just relax with a good book.
    Beautiful views and great weather!
  • If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this is it! The tiny house in a private canyon offers spectacular views, beautiful native flora and fauna, and a comfy hammock to watch them from. The house comes with a private yard screened with trees, so it's perfect for uninterrupted meditation. I was delighted to find a little library in the house, including the host's excellent book about her family's history in the canyon. There's a nice bright reading light in the bedroom and the bed is really comfy. The kitchen is stocked with everything 1 or 2 people could need and the toilet and shower rooms are spotless. The area offers plenty of routes for relaxing strolls or more athletic hikes. Chi can recommend good places to eat in downtown Ramona, which is only a short drive away. I give this place the highest recommendation and plan to go back as soon as I can!

    Jennifer2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Gnome Woods is the perfect mountain retreat spot for a solo traveler or couple. The land surrounding the cabin is magnificent---fragrant with mountain herbs and bursting with bird life. Super quiet and cozy at night. There's a fantastic hiking trail just off Chi's property---a 15-20 minute ascent that brings one into another world. Spectacular views of the Cuyamaca range, the valley, and San Vicente reservoir. The kitchenette has all the basics for hotplate meal creation. Shower is clean with good plentiful hot water. The house is very pleasant with nice outdoor hang-out areas, but it is small....so don't plan on bringing in a lot of stuff. All in all, a great place to escape the matrix and connect with the deeper rhythms of the green world.

    Erik2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Chi’s cabin was excellent! Very remote and relaxing!

    Philip2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house, where you can hear birds singing all day. Very relaxing.

    Ana2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • As a returning visitor to Tiny House, I have only the best things to say. The practical: It’s small but fully equipped to keep you warm (or cool during summer), fed, caffeinated, etc. Always clean and cozy in the cabin. Chi is an amazing hostess and extremely accommodating and accessible. The “extra”: This location is truly magical. I can sit outside for long stretches just listening to the birdsong, thundering quail wings, and generally gazing every which way at the abundant surrounding nature. Daily walks up the trail are also a must. This place is downright healing. There is a very good reason I keep coming back. I can’t recommend it enough.

    Julie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The natural beauty at Chi's place is extraordinary, and the vibe is serene and peaceful. Hope to come again.

    Kyle2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Super cozy spot. We stayed at Chi’s place just to get away from the city for a night and it was the prefect place to recharge! The tiny house does take a little getting used to but once we settled in we really enjoyed it! It was such a unique stay, we 100% recommend it!!

    Kathleen2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • I really recomend this place if you want to take a break of the city and be in the nature. Chi is really sweet and helpful. She has a private hike that is amazing on the top. The view is beautiful. Best wishes!

  • Beckys cabin is perfect. It was my first time staying in a tiny house and I loved the novelty. There’s plenty of toiletries you might not see at other b&bs like contact solution, hairspray, toothpaste. She also put some snacks and water for us to enjoy during our stay. Becky was super nice and gave us a lot of advice for Ramona. We went for a wedding and spent 2 nights at her cabin. Only advice is to check in during daylight. It’s hard to find the property at night and it can be quite dark. We also had to large suitcases so it was tight inside the cabin; I recommend using backpacks instead. There aren’t any outlets in the bed/loft area so if you need tour phone by your bedside bring longer chargers. Also the hot water is very limited so if you need to take a longer shower plan ahead.

  • We had so much fun staying here! The view is so gorgeous and the house is adorable. Both my husband and I loved it. Becky also gave great recommendations for things to do locally. Would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again!

  • This is a unique experience with a great location

    Melody2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tiny but very comfortable cabin. Great outdoor living space to spread out and make a fire in the evening. The kitchen had all of the essentials for a slow easy morning with a cup of coffee. Extra towels and hairdryer were a nice touch too.

  • This tiny house has a huge appeal. It has everything. The most comfortable bed and space that is perfect for anyone in Ramona. It is also sitting on a hill with a great view and a cool dog to hang out with while you relax.

  • Beautiful spot within walking distance of two wineries. Very comfortable for two people. Super relaxing vibe. Could sit all day sipping wine or coffee and soaking in the beautiful quiet. Deliciously comply bed with soft, warm bedding. Very homey.

  • Our first Air BnB experience was fantastic! Becky was a great host and very easy to communicate with. View was amazing!! We will most definitely consider this stay in the future.

  • A lot of people comment about directions but once you learn how to get there after the first time, it was fine. I found this sign that was oak ridge or something ridge street that told me to turn right and also the cabin signs helped as well. The parking was blocked when I arrived at night but I kindly asked the guests in the house nearby for directions and they moved their car promptly. This tiny house had everything you could possibly need! Becky provided vanilla creamer for the coffee which was a nice touch, towels, shampoo/conditioner, body wash and some games. I came here on a solo trip and had more than enough room. I can't wait to come back and share this space with a partner and maybe a baby someday! The walk to turtle ridge winery was enjoyable as there are animals to the right along the path to look at and watch. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, it was the best sleep I ever got. I disagree with some comments about noise from the road below as it's very far away. I enjoyed the howls at night too. Becky graciously allowed me to check out a little later so I could go hike and shower before catching a flight home as there were no checkins after me. I can't say enough how appreciative I was of her flexibility.

Woodson and world renowned "potato chip rock". The inside oozes country warmth and charm! Here you will experience 4 seasons: hot summers, colorful autumns, cold winters, explosive flowering springs. But beware: no TV or microwave here! Please DO read the entire listing before requesting to book.
This is a roomy studio cabin best suited for two adults (with possible added cot for child) with an attached kitchen (convection oven, hot plate, refrigerator, coffee maker) and separate bathroom (shower). You will find plenty of closet space, a private balcony, and views onto surrounding mountains. The main house is next door, but a completely separate space, patio and entrance.
We are nestled right at the foot of Mount Woodson, a popular hiking destination to see the world famous Potato Chip Rock. It is a strenuous hike, so best to climb is early in the morning or later in the afternoon. The golf course is just 2 minutes away, and antique shops line the old part of Ramona for shoppers of treasures. Wineries can be found just down the street.
  • This is the nearest little cabin away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Beautiful views and ambience, a homely touch, and perfect communication. Would love to visit again!

  • Very cozy little cabin! Sylvie was a great host and responded to questions we had extremely fast! Check-in and check-out were very easy, and the location of this cabin was very close to good hiking areas. If you are looking for a place to stay in the area, I would definitely recommend strongly considering this place.

  • My husband and I were out in Ramona for an assignment and I have to say that our stay at sylvies home was wonderful. The home was extremely cozy and beautiful, sylvie was very accommodating and a kind host. Highly recommend this space for anyone. Thank you for letting us stay!

  • This cabin is walking distance to great hiking trails. The host is very welcoming and had great communication. The cabin is also larger than I had expected which was nice. Also, the host is dog friendly! This is a perfect stay for anyone that needs a recharge away from the city. The area is beautiful and rich with nature. The cleanliness was outstanding-unlike other places that collect a cleaning fee and barely clean. The host really has a knack for attention to detail. She even provides snacks for hiking! I look forward to returning.

Welcome! A comfortable and private room and adjacent bathroom await you for a break from the hustle and bustle. Knightsview Farm has stunning views in every direction and is near the heart of Ramona and Julian and the center of San Diego County making it easily accessible to all the county has to offer! We are surrounded by Ramona's wine country with vineyards and tasting rooms just moments away. Hiking, biking, antiquing, wineries, starry skies and a hammock await you!
The house is all on one level with no stairs. We have 2 cats in the house and a barn cat and 4 horses outside (they love carrots!) The property is very hilly so if you plan to hike around appropriate shoes are recommended. There's space available in the fridge/freezer for ice and food items. We're happy to provide coffee in the morning- just tell us when you'd like it and it will be fresh brewed and waiting. Enjoy a cup on the patio or we have to go cups if you'd rather have it for the road. Help yourself to fresh baked goodies and/or fruit on the table!
The neighbors have cows, goats, horses and chickens and geese which you can sometimes hear. Other than that it is very quiet and private. There is a Civil War cemetery which is the resting place of some of Ramona's earliest settlers on the neighbor's property. It can be seen from the edge of the farm and is open to the public. Dark skies afford spectacular star gazing on clear nights.
  • My husband and I were visiting from Texas to attend a wedding at the Milagro Winery. We had a 4 hour drive in the morning so we were just needing a place to stay for the night. They were very informative and responded promptly to our messages. They had many suggestions of things to do, unfortunately we didn't get to do any of them because of our schedule. We checked in around 7pm and Gwen greeted us, and the home smelled amazing like she had just made dinner. She was so welcoming and showed us to the bathroom reserved for us. Then to the bedroom that had such heartwarming touches, it was like I was staying at an aunt's house. She had a very good space heater that kept the whole room warm, it worked so well that I had to turn it down, and my god the bed was so comfortable. The moment my head hit the pillow, I was OUT. Gwen also let us know we were welcome to hang out in the living room or share a glass of wine, and they'd be happy to have coffee ready for us in the morning. What I loved is that around the bedroom and bathroom, there were these cute little messages that let you know where extra things were, like toilet paper, what switch is for the fan, and a little basket of snacks and water bottles (which helped since we had to wake up early and get on with our drive) it was just all around adorable, very clean, and very much like home. AND THE VIEW, it was gorgeous out there! Whenever my husband and I are able to make it out again, I am deff staying here and taking them up on the wine offer ;)

  • Both Jeff and Quinn went out of their way to make me feel at home, even going to extra lengths to pick up a sandwich for me in town. They have a beautiful house that is situated in a beautiful landscape. They’re also very interesting people and it was fun to talk to them. All of the rooms were immaculate and clean. I appreciated having my own bathroom and shower. If I’m ever in the area again, I will most certainly be a return customer.

  • The perfect way to start the year!! Everything was perfect as always! Gwen and Jeff are the best hosts Airbnb can have! Cozy home, very clean, great amenities, always making sure we have all we need and more! Please tell Lee we loved the winery! We’ll definitely see you soon! Thanks Gwen and Jeff!

  • Gwen & Jeff are great hosts. They take pride in their home and have lots of adorable touches as well as some pretty rad medieval decor! Our stay had embroidered towels, portable snacks, local maps complete with tips, and plenty of warmth for the winter. They were able to accommodate my boyfriend and I on a holiday and we were very happy ringing in the new year nature-style. Hope to stay here again in the future!

  • The studio is clean and very comfortable. The dirt road and gravel driveway is challenging for a motorcycle but they did provide a carport that had a cement floor. Need to like a country setting...lots of animals roaming the property (cats, dog and a peacock). There was a neighbor's dog that barked non-stop but by bedtime, all was quiet!

Take the back roads scenic drive 50mins up the hill from San Diego and enjoy some much needed quiet and comfy tranquility. Our place is right in the heart of San Diego Wine Country. It's a rather well appointed place situated on 10 private acres that overlooks nothing but green space. With no nearby humans on either side, you can either sleep with the windows open and wake early to roosters crowing, or close the windows and sleep quietly til Noon.
Our massive upstairs deck overlooks green space, offers an infinity 2 person tub, and plenty of opportunity for unforgettable memories!
In the heart of the Old Julian Wine Trail...
  • It's a lovely place and the amenities are amazing! Highly a 5/5 experience, I would highly recommend to friends and family. The hot tub was super fun and the estate was wonderful to walk. The little town is super cute and fun with lots of good restaurants and a few things to do. The wineries are amazing in this location, the reason why this is wine county retreat. :P I recommend grant James and Old Julian vinery, they have super relaxing vibes and delicious wine. We watched movies, brought video games, they had a an amazing kitchen to cook, and of course -- drank wine. Ben gives great recommendations and was always there for an inquiry. He was flexible and is an amazing host! Thanks for everything and coming back!

  • We spent a few days here with a mix of visiting San Diego, hiking some local trails, and resting in the Airbnb. Sitting on the porch and listening to birds in the daytime and coyotes at night was very relaxing. The guest house was clean, comfortable, and had lots of useful amenities for a longer vacation, so I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for something a little quieter than the city but still within a reasonable drive of activities, restaurants, etc.

    Alan2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Super comfortable restful bucolic retreat with lovely views. Kitchen easy to move around in and stocked with all kinds of amenities. Splendid hot tub that defied the night chill. We forgot the city we left. Furthermore, Ben was super helpful with the few questions we had. Wow!

  • Ben and Andrea are the kindest hosts you will ever meet. They were extremely thorough with their information and help. They make you feel like the most special guest. Their place is one of the best Airbnb’s I’ve ever been in. It’s extremely cozy and welcoming, with the fun touches of the jacuzzi on the deck with the lights, the local recommendations book, the comfy blankets, Netflix, and a stocked kitchen with all the supplies you could need for a getaway. It was cold so we didn’t get to use the pool, but it’s beautiful and we can’t wait to visit again when it warms up.

  • We had our outdoor wedding at Supreeta's property last weekend and we are so happy we did. It's a very spacious, clean home with fantastic views, plus Supreeta was a wonderful host that was always a phone call or text away. She maintained great communication with us prior to booking to throughout our stay. Our guests were very impressed with the house and there was plenty of room for all our guests that needed to stay the night. This location is about 45 minutes away from downtown San Diego, hidden in the mountainous foothills of Ramona. If you're thinking of having your wedding here, there were several locations on the site that were fit for the ceremony, and we even had a contingency plan in case it rained.

    Bradley2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had our wedding here and I must say it did not disappoint. It was beyond beautiful as far the location goes and just perfect for an outdoor wedding. Supreeta was very quick to respond any time I reached out with questions or concerns which was really helpful while setting up a wedding. Being able to stay at the location where we held our wedding also added tremendous value to the experience as my out of town family were all able to stay at the house. It also added a large element of ease to the experience. We were able to wake up and set up and have everything delivered to us, and when having a DIY wedding this really was beneficial. Finally, going into this experience, this was one of the few Airbnb’s that didn’t attempt to charge me thousands of extra dollars just for having a wedding. The event fee is more than reasonable and I’d recommend anyone have an event like this here.

  • Supreeta’s place really surprised me with how spacious and clean it was. Communication was on point and the house overall was just great. Really recommend if you are looking for a place for a lot of people !!

    Emily2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at the ranch! Lori and Dwight were there to welcome us and show us around right away. We got a tour of the ranch and they had a sweet gift for my 40th birthday. The amenities were perfect for a glamping vacation with two small kids (5 and 2). We had everything we needed and were close to town if we wanted to get dinner out. The animals were so sweet and friendly. We had access to visit the animals whenever we wanted and this made it so much more fun for the kids. There is information on all local things to do, available inside the tent. Also the tent is wood framed so it was nice and warm at night. Overall, great stay and we would go back again!

    Jenn2019-11-27T00:00:00Z

We are located approximately 45 miles away from San Diego Airport (about 1 hour away) and 10 miles from the town of Ramona. We suggest you buy groceries in town prior. • The views are absolutely stunning! This was the perfect place for a one night reprieve from the city. The host family was very charming, helpful, and communicative. The animals are friendly and ready to receive love. We enjoyed a phenomenal sunset by the fit pit and a cozy evening in the guest house as a rainstorm rolled through. If you love nature and animals, I highly recommend!

  • Fantastic little guest house and property. Traveling with two little ones can be challenging to say the least. But we felt at home at Websterbilly Ranch. The place is super cozy and clean. The animals were a special treat for the kids to see and experience. Thoughtful of the family to have fresh eggs in the fridge for us. Definitely recommending this place to family and friends!

  • A cozy stay at a beautiful, peaceful ranch! The views of the back porch are incredible, the space is spotlessly clean, and the amenities are thoughtful. The kitchen is well-equipped, for those looking to stay in and cook like we did. Lori was a wonderful, responsive host, and we really enjoyed our stay.

    Lynn2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most cozy places my husband and I have been to. Very calm and private area. Definitely consider when thinking of a mini vacation again.

    Priscilla2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible experience!! My fiancée and I wanted to find a secluded place in the mountains to spend Christmas Eve that would also allow us to bring our dog, and Lori’s place absolutely exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for true seclusion that brings astonishing beauty and peace, book here NOW! The house was cozy, comforting and perfect. It was so clean! It also had tons of local recommendations. It was stocked with all the cooking essentials and had a Keurig (stocked with coffee and cider!). The mountains.. don’t even get me started. Definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. The trails were stellar and meant for mindfulness (and excitement- our dog had a BLAST!) and the views are out of this world. Lori was very communicative and kind! Thank you so much for an unforgettable Christmas Eve and morning. :)

    Alex2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lori’s place was great to get out of the city noise and craziness. We sat down at night to enjoy the fire pit and watch the stars. During the day, we fed the animals in the farm. My kids loved it!

Nestled down a quiet country road, we are within walking distance of 3 wineries. Guests can easily bike or drive to any of the surrounding 35 wineries, or other local attractions. We are less than 5 minutes from local hiking areas (Mt. Woodson, for example) and Main Street in Ramona where coffee shops, restaurants, and a dozens of local small businesses sell their wares. We are also less than 30 minutes from Julian, one of southern California's favorite destinations. Don't forget to stop and get some apple pie! Please note, we are in the country. Insects like earwigs and spiders are common. We do our best to control them, but they do show up from time to time.
  • You can't go wrong with this lovely guesthouse. It was much bigger than expected, thoughtfully laid out, and sparkling clean. The owners are super friendly and gave us some great tips on things to do in the area. If you enjoy the countryside, this is the place for you. We hope to come back someday.

Come stay at the Dome Asylum hippie homestead. The Dome Asylum is a geodesic dome built in 1986. It’s natural landscaping, beautiful cacti, and remote location make it stand out, not just as a place to stay, but a place to retreat. In addition to the fruit trees and aquaponic garden, the property features several cactus gardens, a meditation trail, and a natural pool/hot tub. The Dome Asylum is convenient to local hiking, Ramona wineries and historic Julian.
The Master BR suit has a locking door, en suite bath and attached balcony. The VIP guest room has a locking door, detached bath and a view of the front cactus garden. Additional guests are accommodated by either a king size mattress in the poolside cabana (outside) and/or an air mattress to be set up in the house. (linens provided for all sleeping options) The 3rd bath is shared and located in the outdoor pool house.
  • The home itself is very unique and different. Dawn & her husband were super welcoming, kind and laid back. Would stay again & would recommend others to stay there as well.

  • Dawn’s place is an incredibly unique and magical oasis in Ramona. You will have everything you need to cook and be comfortable at the house. We stayed for New Years Eve and had a fantastic time hanging out in the backyard which is really the best part of this listing. There were some surprises for us that would have been good to know in advance. This isn’t a good place for people with cat allergies because the cat lives here and normally stays with the guests. My husband and I got pretty stuffy and itchy from hanging out on the couches. The beds are super soft and cave in at the center. We would have appreciated better communication about the hot tub because it was turned off before we were able to use it and it takes 3 hours to heat up. The hot tub should not be advertised in the listing IMO since it’s not always available. In general, the whole house really needs a deep clean. Make sure to get a tour from Dawn when you arrive so that you have a good understanding of how the stove and everything is operated! Despite these small nuances, we really appreciated Dawn’s hard work on the property. She puts a ton of effort into the ambiance, which was an experience in and of itself!

    Julia2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Words cannot express how amazing our stay was. WE HAD OUR WEDDING AT THE DOME! Our guests raved about how cool and unique the Dome was and we couldn't agree more. Dawn & Wylie were excellent hosts, whatever we needed they provided and then some to make sure our wedding ran smoothly. The lighting through all the greenery was icing on the cake and we had the best time hanging out around the pool. It was truly the relaxed environment we needed and would 100% visit again and would recommend to anyone.

    Chanel2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn's dome home is an absolute dream!! A wonderful place for small gatherings, families or friend reunions. The fresh water pool is an amazing feature, and the fire sculptures are quite fun. They pressure-washed the hot tub for us when we got there, and it was sparkling clean and definitely magical! The vibe of the house is quirky, vintage and happily lived-in. We loved the spiral staircase, the unique dining room table and the well-stocked kitchen. The bed outside is an amazing place for afternoon naps, as well as an extra place for guests to sleep. We were there in October, and it was perfect weather all day and night. I could not recommend this home more, this is by far my favorite air bnb I have ever stayed at! Amanda

  • Our stay was great! We were amazed by everything this property had to offer from the minute we entered the gate to right when we checked out. The hosts were so fantastic and were very responsive every time we needed anything. We had a little birthday BBQ in the pool area, which was the perfect way to relax. We loved loved all the chickens, cat and dogs! I will definitely be making another reservation just to visit their doggies Bailey and Klondike!

  • We loved the dome asylum and everything that came with it. We adored the pups and the chickens, had fun hanging by the natural pool, and thought the house was incredible. Will definitely be recommending to friends in LA and would absolutely stay again. Ramona I a cool little town with lots of small wineries and antique shops. Couldn’t have been a better weekend.

  • A great house, perfect yard for the kids complete with playground and zip line, minutes to grocery store and Main Street. Wonderful home base for us for a week.

  • Great place for family vacation with kids!

  • This is a beautiful place to stay near San Diego. The place is sparkling clean and Luis responded immediately to all of our requests. Check in and check out process is smooth.

  • Nice get away location or perfect for family vacation. Spacious with beautiful surroundings. Couldn’t have asked for a better place.

    James2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely stay for our group of seven. While I was glad to not have slept on the air mattress in one of the rooms (it seemed to want to roll me and my wife off when we tested it) the couple that slept on it said it was fine. The master bedroom was very comfortable. All necessities are provided and the kitchen is well-stocked. The house in general is very accommodating, clean, and was a great place to stay for a nearby wedding.

  • Beautiful house, beautiful place. It was amazing my stay at this house. Nice and cozy with a stunning view. If you plan to get a city getaway, this house is perfect to that.

  • The place is very nice and very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay. Even though it's secluded, groceries and restaurants are nearby. Would love to use that pool in the summer.

    Kris2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it here! Chana was great and the casita was beautiful, and was also deceptively large once you enter! Killer dvd/BluRay selection and great views. I’d definitely stay again!

    Deon2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Chana's space is in a great location for wine tasting. Great access to both sides of the valley as well as main street shops and restaurants. The space is stylish, the bed was comfy and the large TV in the bedroom was great. Upstairs is a large sectional for lounging, playing games and watching movies. I would recommend staying here if you need a place in Ramona.

A stay at the quiet farm (chickens and geese aren't noisy, are they?) will leave you refreshed. We have a very large room, a nice garden view, a comfortable bed, a work desk, books to read. An adjoining private bath gives you all the space you need! We welcome business people (work-at-home), providing a workspace, wifi, and other amenities; however, due to animals and other reasons, we are unable to allow "self-check-in". Please let us know, and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs!
Stay at an organic farm, where we raise vegetables, baby goats, and chickens (fresh eggs). We have horses, a donkey, a sheep and dogs and cats (no allergies, please!). You will have the "master bedroom/bath", with a newly remodeled bathroom, kitchen privileges, and of course, the great outdoors. We are located nearby Copper Meadows Equestrian Training Facility (with limited hotels in Ramona, please ask if you have special requests, or need to accommodate horses...) Located near the gold mine town of Julian, great shopping, and local antique stores galore, San Diego offers it ALL. Less than 10 miles to the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park. Beaches, mountains, great views, open spaces, and San Diego Nightlife within an hour...this is a great home to share for a few days, or stay for a while in the country. Our "neighborhood" is very quiet - the only noise that you hear are the roosters bragging, or our donkey. You can enjoy the patio, walk on private paved roads or trails, or drive out to great hiking sites such as Iron Mountain or Volcan Mountain. If you enjoy casinos, there are several nearby, including Barona Mesa Indian Reservation, and others within an hour or so. NOT TO BE MISSED: Julian, antique shops, and Julian apple pie!! #copperMeadows #julianCA My favorite Review: "...run a small organic B&B farmstead unlike any other… I enjoyed staying in their well built vintage two-story ranch house from the 50s, practically a national treasure nestled in the heart of Ramona’s apple and wine country. It features full picture windows, vintage wooden knotty paneling, oversized polished wood shelving and a full-sized pool table in the basement. Delightful animals range freely along surrounding terrain and include baby goats, lambsy-divey baby sheep prancing up the pathways, and big wooly looking bales that are actually giant sheep pasturing on a mix of greens – all accompanied an array of colorful farm birds. Swan, duck and goose goslings join in a dance around giant fanned-tailed turkeys. It’s a setting visitors are sure to enjoy highlighted by San Diego County’s sunny weather. Highly recommended for extended stays!" Response from Tera Lea: Thank you, for such a delightful description! I'm not sure we have swans... but we love the description of the bales of sheep... perhaps they need a diet! We hope to see you next time!
Peaceful town of Ramona is in the lower mountain area of San Diego - above the "fog" line, and we get plenty of sunshine! "Valley of the Sun" is the town nickname. Formerly "Nuevo" (or New Town), Ramona is named after a character in a Helen Hunt Jackson novel. Visits to the local antique shops, and the nearby community of Julian, are worth the drive!
  • A fun and enjoyable place to stay for those who enjoy the workings and atmosphere of a farm. The sounds of goats, sheep, chickens, and turkeys are there to greet you. The aviary is a lovely touch to the garden. Tera and Tracy are welcoming and accommodating hosts. Looking forward to another visit!

    Kenneth2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent ..

    Jose2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Tera’s home is amazing! Her and her sister Trisha were kind, courteous, and funny! The room is spacious and well decorated. This is the first time I got to meet baby goats and cannot believe how smart and playful they are. I had a short stay but am planning to stay longer in the summer and am already excited to go back!

    Julia2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Everything that I needed and nothing that I didn’t. And all the animals were a bonus!

    Lauren2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • a very quiet and cozy place is like being at home

    Jose2019-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • My stay with Tera and Tracy at their wonderful goat farm was a most excellent experience. It is so beautiful and filled with life, friendly vibes and that warm feeling of being in a loving home. I felt so warmly welcomed and I knew right away that this was the right choice. I was given a really fun tour, introduced to the awesome friendly animals and every question I had about the farm, the animals, and the area, was answered with great sincerity and grand conversation. The room was just perfect and so comfortable that it felt like my own. As a new grandparent visiting Ramona to meet my new granddaughter and help out my daughter and son-in-law, I didn't get to spend as much time at the farm this trip as I would have liked and I'm really looking forward to staying at Tera and Tracy's fantastic farm for all my upcoming trips to Ramona. I am very grateful for the entire experience and I have already recommended it to my many family and friends that are headed to Ramona. I think the best possible thing one can say about an experience is, "I'd love to do that again!". So I will be planning my upcoming trip dates according to the availability at this little slice of heaven that Tera and Tracy so richly provide. Thank you for everything, Tera/Tracy! :-) I can't wait to be there again!

    Eric2019-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Tera and Tracy are amazing hosts. The farm was beautiful and peaceful. I would definitely like to go back in the future.

    Cynthia2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • An animal lover's paradise. Tera Lea and her sister Tracy are wonderful and interesting hosts who made us feel at home. The filtered and UV-treated drinking water from the well is the best we have ever tasted.

  • Great location.

    John2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place looked special the instant we saw the listing, and definitely did not disappoint! Deborah is a welcoming, attentive, and communicative host. We loved the property, the trailer (and all of its details and tasty offerings), and everything about our stay. The kids bunks were made up so sweetly with treats, books, and activities. They felt at home instantly and didn't want to leave. Interacting with the horse so much will always be a wonderful memory for them. My younger daughter asks me daily "are we going to the house on wheels or home?" and they both say they can't wait to go back. You will have to come check out this place yourself to see what extra magic the host creates for you on your stay. She has a special touch.

  • Very comfortable stay. Everything as described. Surrounded by really nice scenery.

    Danna2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay- my two year old really enjoyed feeding carrots to Dakota the horse, running around the open space, and playing with the kid's toys! We loved the views and the fire pit at night. Great privacy, comfortable and surprisingly spacious RVs. Hosts were very attentive if we needed anything and really nice. Will definitely return!

    Alexandro2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location for a hiking trip to Anza-Borrego state park and visits to the local wineries. Beautiful view of the sunset over the hills! RV was clean and comfortable. We had a few mechanical difficulties with the RV (heat/hot water) but Deborah and Tim were very quick to respond and help us out.

  • You wont find a better place for some serious R&R. Couldn't have had a better time. Thanks!

  • This was a great place to just chill. We did not bring pets or horses but they had good accommodations for them. The trailer is not big so it was real crowded with five people but great for just me. Highly recommended

  • This was a great place to stay. Deborah is an amazingly gracious host. My husband forgot his hiking sticks and she loaned him hers...great tips for local hikes and a beautiful view of the pasture and the hills right out the front door. Loved it all.

The VIP Guest Room has a locking door, detached private bath and a view of the front cactus garden.
  • This was a very cute home! Loved the hippie feel of the house :)

    Liz2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really amazing house with great rooms to choose from. Some really friendly doggies too!

    Sean2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed in the unique Dome Asylum, which was earthy like I wanted, and had a pool and hot tub in a private oasis type setting. We were able to put some food in the refridgerator and watched a Dvd on the living room television. Dawn suggested a great local restaurant which we really enjoyed. The Dome was only about 2 minutes from town, so was nice and convenient and easy to find. This was our first time to Ramona and was a really nice experience for us! We would return.

    Crystal2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • It is great to stay with Dawn and her house is very special

    Gerda2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn wasn't the unparalleled R. Buckminster Fuller fan I expected, but still a fantastic host ;p Basically free roam on the lovely property was great. Loved the fish pool. Loved the flora & other fauna too, even the raptor which kept fruitlessly swooping down at the property's chickens. On the note of chickens, do be prepared for 0400+ roosters! (a good thing if you're prone to lazily sleeping in like us :)

    Ian2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Dawn is a great host. The VIP bedroom was clean and comfy. Definitely coming back whenever I'm in the area.

  • This place was just what we needed. Janice was a great host, and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Very accommodating, thorough and friendly. Thank you so much for everything!

    Joseph2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Although our stay was meant to be a small weekend get away, it ended up being more special than we expected. My little brother came with my boyfriend and I for the weekend, and he had an amazing time that he wont forget for awhile. We all gathered around a nice cozy campfire each night, where my brother had s'mores for the first time! Janice and Les were great with responding to our texts and calls, Les showed us around and informed us of the surrounding area, and the motorhome we were staying in. He did a great job telling us important details of the local animals that may be lurking, and how to get to the famous potato chip rock. He also let us know that the neighboring town was only 10 minutes away if we needed to pick up extra groceries or things we may need. Overall, our hosts were very helpful, and the motorhome was perfect for our weekend get away. Thank you for everything Janice and Les!

    Marie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This little camper was exactly what we needed but much more than we hoped for in our camping weekend getaway. My husband and I love outdoorsy type activities but are not exactly experts at “roughing it” so staying here gave us the ability to enjoy the outdoors without having to worry about preparing too much. You will be completely comfortable with running water and all appliances/utensils you could possibly need. There is even a pretty good spread of spices for those who would like to do a little cooking during their stay. The bbq and fire pit are perfect for enjoying the company of your friends and taking in the night sky. Walking distance to Mt Woodson (“potato chip rock hike”) and a short drive to iron mountain trailheads. Overall it was a lovely experience that we would be glad to repeat again soon.

    Jenine2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a great time at Janice’s place. It is a small space but it was very comfortable and we loved exploring the grounds and hanging out by the fire at night. A perfect option for anyone looking for a glamping experience. We will definitely be back soon.

    Rachel2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The RV is great. It’s close to San Diego without actually being in the city. It rained the whole time we were there so it was really muddy. Besides that this place was great. The very tasty well water was also a plus.

    Chassidy2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a great weekend! Our host, Janice was amazing and the trailer was spotless! We will absolutely be back!

    Joey2019-10-13T00:00:00Z

Nestled on the far northeast end, and approximately 10 miles east of the town of Ramona CA, you will find a haven from civilization. Websterbilly Ranch backs to the Cleveland National Forest. Stay in a cozy tent or rv that YOU PROVIDE and enjoy wilderness
This space opens to the Cleveland National forest. It is your own haven. Private and quiet. If you are interested, you can interact with the animals of our ranch as well. Hiking trails surround the area so hiking is available. This is a dry camping space only. You provide the RV, trailer, or tent. There are no hookups. No beds are provided. This is a space only… Just for clarification this is a space only… An awesome outhouse with a Flushing toilet and sink are available. • Lori was very hospitable. This is a great place to get away and clear the mind. I had a great time interacting with the animals. Thank you.

  • This place met above and beyond expectations, if you think it is just a patch of dirt, think again! They have been working hard to make this place magical and comfortable with the cutest little outdoor shower and bathroom, string lights around the common area that complement the beautiful mountain sunsets, and the most friendly farm animals to greet you. If you get a chance to stay here, do it!

    Anna2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fun camping experience. Kids loved the animal interaction. Lori was very helpful and made us feel welcome.

    Richard2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, everything went well except for the check in... I messaged the host with a 30min ETA and upon arrival (9:30pm), the host had fallen asleep and did not respond to my messages or answer my phone calls. We we're unsure of exact location since it was dark (I recommend host adding a map/image that clearly shows location for check-in instructions). We waited 10min before using AppleMaps (previously used Google Maps) which told us to go to neighbor's house for some reason. The neighbors were very nice and we followed them back to the same location we were just at but they showed us the 3 camp sites. The last unclaimed camp site was ours by default so we thanked them and started to get ready for bed. Couple minutes later, Lori's husband came out to apologize and gave us a quick verbal tour. After that, it was great. I have AT&T so the cellular reception was great when we needed it. There was little to no ambient light coming from the west so looking up at the stars (and to the east) was amazing. Since we we're outside, there were some random critters (mainly birds) making some noise at night but we quickly drowned them out and went to bed. When we awoke in the morning (8am), there were some small birds chirping and the cool morning fog sat between the hills/mountains in the valleys, which was a nice view to take in. The fog started to burn off around 9ish and the sun shined through, highlighting the desert flowers and landscapes. Around 9:30am, Lori swung by to check on us and apologized for last night. She offered us a view of the property and the animals. The tour of the property was nice and it was great to pet the animals (my favorite was Mr. Pigglesworth). Lori then told us about a small hike (<1mi roundtrip from their house) and I'm glad we did it. At the end of the hike is a nice view of the valley looking at Isham Creek (upstream of El Capitan Reservoir).

    Richard2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • It's a campsite that also has a bathroom, shower, and shaded table + chairs. Very nice!

    Ali2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great weekend getaway! Amazing view. The kids absolutely loved visiting with the animals, playing horseshoe and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. We appreciated the access to the grill for cooking dinner, and running water in the cute little outhouse. Lori and Dwight were super responsive and easy to communicate with.

Nestled near the famous Iron Mountain and less than 16 miles away from San Diego's finest beaches, enjoy all that SD has to offer in a one of kind farm-to-beach experience. Join Greg Aiello, one of TV's favorite adventure hosts, at his private ranch to experience a side of San Diego you won't find anywhere else. Based on adventure, a deep love for nature and the creatures it inhabits (miniature goats, alpacas and silkie chickens), it'll be a getaway you'll never forget.
The Outside Inn is a tribute to Greg's life long travels and love for the great outdoors. As you've seen in his series, Motion and Outside with Greg Aiello, he has taken us on countless adventures, many off the beaten trail and where few have gone before. Together, with his guided experiences and his private ranch filled with miniature goats, alpacas and silkies, you'll share his unwavering passion for nature. Whether it be an animal experience at the Outside Inn or on one of his many guided experiences such as nature hikes on one of San Diego's most loved trails or paragliding the cliffs of Torrey Pines, you'll see why Greg calls San Diego home.
We are located at the base of the Iron Mountain trailhead just outside of Poway and Scripps Ranch. Our ranch offers complete privacy away from the city.
  • Heather and Greg were the perfect hosts. We have stayed at private rentals all over the world and this was one of the best. It really felt like home and the overall amenities were the best we have ever experienced with a private rental...from the hot tub to the goats. And a very comfortable bed. 5-stars all the way. Thank you so much for opening your place to us. We will book again the next time we are in SD.

  • Unbelievable stay. Host was one of the nicest and helpful people I have ever met. The scenery is fantastic. Loved all the extras (hot tube, animals, ATV). Would suggest this stay to anyone who wanted to get away from city for a bit.

The farm is also shared with horses that roam the canyon freely, dairy goats, chickens, an Australian Shepherd, organic gardens, and fountains sporting festive bird activity. Ramona Valley is recognized as an American Viticulture Area and boasts dozens of wineries featuring locally grown and produced wines. A number of them are nearby. Numerous preserves and County Parks are in the near vicinity and Chi or Kent would be happy to share more about them. The Mt. Woodson hike with the famous Potato Chip Rock is a mere ten minutes away! Enjoy watching birds from a rocking chair on the front porch of the authentic, hand-hewn log home. Read in one of the hammocks under the huge live oaks. Kali's Room in Log Cabin: Enjoy your peaceful getaway in a beautiful, handcrafted log home. This upstairs bedroom boasts views of the north-east mountains. The Queen-sized bed, built-in closet, bookcase and antique dresser furnish the space nicely. The bathroom, with a bath/shower, is immediately adjacent and is shared if both rooms are occupied. An eclectic book collection, Wi-Fi and kitchen use are available. Two indoor cats lounge about on the log railings in the loft. Come enjoy a relaxing stay at this nature lover’s paradise.
    Beautiful views and great weather!
  • Thoughtful, beautiful and well kept this magical cabin in the woods transcends modern living and reminds you of the quiet beauty of california. Away from the noise of the city, but close enough to Ramona if you need something, this place is amazing!!!

  • A unique mountain retreat. Quiet. Peaceful. Clean. Friendly folks. We will be back.

  • Chi and her husband Kent are wonderful hosts. From the second we met them at the door we felt welcome and in a great space. Their house and property is a haven of peace and tranquility. Nature all around. We had great conversations, got shown around great hiking spots, spent time with their animals and were happy 100% Coffee and a fresh croissant to ring in the day were an additional treat that they gave to us. Wonderful couple.

  • Chi and Kent were great hosts. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed for a quick one night stay. The coffee and pastries in the morning was also a very nice surprise. We would highly recommend their home, and hope to be back.

  • It's with a spirit of generosity and hospitality that Chi and Kent share space in their lovely canyon home at the end of a dirt road, surrounded by oak, manzanita, and other native plants (that I recognize but don't know the names of). Both Chi and Kent have deep knowledge of their canyon and the surrounding area, so if you're interested in the area, ask questions! I had two opportunities to sit and talk with them at length, and it wasn't long before they felt like old friends. It is a wonderful experience to sort of fall in love with your hosts. I got a chance on my first (and only) night to sit in a hammock on the edge of a little meadow, and watch the color change in the sky after the sun went down behind the canyon. I tried but could not keep track of all the unique bird songs I heard in the surrounding trees, and I watched some bunnies sneak out into the meadow to eat and play around. The room I stayed in was in their home, and it was clean and comfortable. I feel lucky to have found them, and plan to come back.

  • Awesome hosts and beautiful cabin and surroundings. Very convenient to downtown Ramona. It was a great experience for us. Chi and Kent are beautiful and accommodating people! Would definitely return!!

  • Beautiful and serene surroundings are what you can expect. The beautiful log cabin home is rustic and comfortable. Chi and Kent were welcoming with kind hospitality. Thank you.

  • Normally we choose full Airbnb, that is, "full accommodation", however on this occasion we choose "private room". The cabin of Chi is incredible !, just like in the movies. The atmosphere both inside and outside the place is amazing. Nature at its best. All the above without mentioning the kindness of Chi and her husband, there was always excellent communication, although we booked that same day. I would definitely go back some other time. Normally we pick "all house" on Airbnb, but this time we choose "private room". Chi's Cabin is incredible! just like the movies. You can feel all the mood inside and outside the Cabin. All that without mention the ability of Chi and his husband. We will Came back soon, for sure!

  • My cousin and I had a great stay at Jacqui's! It was a perfect getaway for two girls and their dogs. The rooms were nice and big, and the beds were comfy. The front porch was perfect for relaxing, while the dogs played in the fenced-in yard. It has great access to plenty of fun things to do and close to some great towns.

  • What a wonderful place : so serene and tranquil! The horses in the distant fields, the swing in the porch and the fresh cold air of the mornings make this such an amazing place ! Jacqui our host was very friendly, prompt and most accommodating and made us feel at home ! The house was sparkling clean and very comfortable. Would absolutely come back to Jacqui’s place again and again. Thank you Jacqui!
