Nature eco lodge holiday rentals in Yorkshire

I came to the Mallard Lodge with my husband, 2 lads and their partners to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. This lodge was clean, homely, comfortable and very well equipped in the kitchen, bathroom, living room and on the family games front too. The lodge is situated in an area so peaceful and beautiful surroundings and an excellent area for some great walks. We were even greeted with a big, fresh loaf of bread, a lovely Victorian sandwich cake, eggs, butter, sugar, tea, milk and coffee - such a lovely touch. The hot tub was amazing, clean and under cover - which was useful especially when it rained one night!! Jenny and Selena have been so helpful before our trip, on check in and offered lots of advice on local events and amenities. We would have no issues coming back here, in fact ‘we will be back’ Thank you Jennie and Selena - don’t change - you do a fabulous job in making your customers feel very welcome.

This was a perfect place for myself and my bridesmaids to stay the night before my wedding. When we arrived there was a slight mix up of the lodges, however James responded straight away and sorted it within minutes. I asked for a slightly late check out so I could leave the lodge at the right time for my ceremony time and James allowed this to happen which was perfect. Thank you.

The Lodge was well furnished and fitted and was easy to run - more stylish than I had anticipated, and a good location. It felt comfortable and roomy.

A last minute cancellation with another property led us to find this one, and we're very glad we did! A beautiful, peaceful location with lovely grounds for the kids (and dog) to play in, and great local walks (there are so many useful guides/maps in the property). The hot tub is such a bonus, and the sheltered veranda allowed us to stay outside even though the weather wasn't amazing. We appreciated the fresh bread/cake/eggs/milk; the cake did not last long 😂. Local village has great pubs, and it's just a short drive to Kirkby Stephen for everything else. Tebay services also convenient for fast charging the EV and a bit of breakfast/shopping. We only had three days, but I'm sure we'll be back again. Thanks for a lovely break ☺️

The Lodge was perfectly clean and tidy, James was extremely helpful and went above and beyond when we had a flat tyre! He came to us with his own pump & gave recommendations. The location was perfect, there even is a little on site shop which was really handy! James provided us with a travel cot and high chair for our baby too. A perfect stay overall. We would highly recommend and will definitely be returning! Thank you!

I enjoyed my stay with David and his dog. David is easy to get along with. The mattress was good and the view from 'my' window of the hills was great. David gave me good suggestions conc. hikes which was helpful. Short walk to the train station and the bus stop. The G - oogle direction is pointing to the wrong place, but it's above the laundrette.

Excellent stay. Lovely, clean modern caravan. Felt very homely. Everything we needed was provided or made clear we needed to bring ourselves. The app was great. Cayton beach was great for the dog and luckily we had beautiful blue sky too. The Salty Dog cafe/hatch was very welcome when coming off the beach. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

An absolutely stunning stay, even in the height of winter. The lodge is even more stunning than the pictures look; it is immaculately presented. Like a catalogue! Super warm, cosy and homely. Highly recommend Sangthai takeaway; fantastic Thai food.

we stayed for a weekend with friend and it was everything we expected and more, the surrounding area is so peaceful and relaxing, the lodge is beautiful designed very clean and Katie was very welcoming and explained everything we needed to know
