Kenmerkend is het ‘smûke’ coulisselandschap met duizenden kilometers elzensingels, dykswâlen (houtwallen) en honderden pingo’s en poelen. Het gebied heeft unieke flora en fauna. De biodiversiteit is hier groot. Op korte afstand van Groningen, Leeuwarden, Dokkum en de ydillische Waddeneilanden. De omgeving is zeer geschikt voor wandelen, fietsen, canoen.

Huge windows provide stunning Dutch views onto the river, the grass meadows with cows & sheep and a picturesque village in the distance. The river is quiet water so have a sauna & a swim, take out the kayak, big canoe or SUPboard. We have a heatpump for the floor heating, and used upcycled items such a charming wood-stove, a fantastic bath, a fully-equipped kitchen, bikes, a firepit & trampoline.
