Guest house holiday rentals in Te Waipounamu / South Island

We had a wonderful one night stay before we fly out to return home. Not too far from the airport, very close to restaurants and shops. We had a good night sleep after a very long drive. Her place was comfortable, clean and got everything we needed.

We had a fantastic stay here for a couple of nights. The setting was beautiful and Michele was kind enough to let us explore the stunning garden and enjoy some of her home grown veg. The welcome couldnt have been warmer. The accommodation was clean and cosy and was perfect for us and our two small children. A perfect alternative to staying in Tekapo. We would loved to have stayed longer. Would strongly recommend this place to others.

We loved this cute cottage. Owners had the heating on for us. Much nicer than phots suggested and wonderfully quiet as at the back of owners home. We were expected street front from the photos so it was a lovely surprise. Wished we stayed more than a night as Geraldine is so lovely.

Suzanne’s property was the best decision we could have made for our trip. Gorgeous rustic design and a working ranch with deer stock nearby. Halfway between Queenstown and Glenorchy the location was perfect for a quiet retreat after a being out and about in town/nature. There are a few guest houses at the location and everyone was friendly and we had plenty of privacy while not being too isolated. Loved it and would stay again or recommend it to friends. Rob and Shel’s place is a hidden gem. Beautiful and modern, perfect for two people. Parking on their own driveway off to the side with direct access to the little studio. Studio had all the amenities one could need. The place was in a quiet and private neighborhood with such a beautiful landscape of the mountains. Would recommend Rob’s place to anyone looking to stay near Wanaka or even as a stopping point for other nearby cities.

Our two-night stay at Sharon’s guest house was perfect. The living space was excellent, opening up to an outdoor area where we could relax in the sunshine and enjoy the spectacular views. The well-equipped kitchen and underfloor heating in the bathroom made our stay even more comfortable. Thank you, Sharon!

Very nice host, very clean place that there is no fault at all for the tidiness. Also there are 3 bedrooms for four people which is just perfect. The place is very close to the pier which we could take a ferry to Wellington. We will be glad to stay there again in the future.

Very convenient location, just a few minutes drive from the town center! It was nice and cozy unit in a quiet neighborhood… Sandy was very responsive and helpful with addressing our needs. Great stay and would recommend!

Sally and Bruce's place was absolutely wonderful! A great place to call home during our road trip (especially after a very long day of hiking in Abel Tasman). Not to mention, the bed was very comfortable! We had the best time.

Communication well. Comfortable bed and living space. Quiet area. Good space. You can cook but with safety instructions to follow. Host can go extra mile to help and support. Host live close enough to be reached out if needed.

This Airbnb is a perfect place for 4 people to do a couple days in Queenstown. The views are stunning and it has all we needed. we loved the bbq outside and the very modern interior! Strong recommendation!

we absolutely loved staying here and wish we had stayed longer! we felt right at home and had everything we needed and more. the couches and bed were super comfortable. Debbie had a variety of pillows to suit everyone's liking (some fluffy/firmer and some flatter). the shower was one of the best I've ever had (so much water pressure!). the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and a BBQ outside. Debbie was very friendly, accommodating, and responsive and we could not recommend staying here enough!! you will not be disappointed. book it now!

Pros: Quiet and lovely place. The SPA pool was amazing and garden view was great. Cons: WIFI was slow and no breakfast provided.

great home base for exploring Mt Cook. Tania's place had everything we needed. the grill was super convenient. the bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too flat for us and the bed sheets were noisy. Tania was a great host and very responsive/accommodating. we would definitely stay here again.

Loving my stay in this little space. I have been traveling around in NZ for 2 weeks and this is the only Airbnb provided milk , beers and fruits in the house. We ate the fruits and left the milk and beers on the fridge as we didn’t take alcohol. The place was so beautiful at the backyard, there was a big trees as well. The space was clean and as described by the listing. Hot water 🚿 and everything else is good too. Glad that we stayed at this space for a night.

We had a lovely stay. We felt very welcomed and looked after there. Very homely and reminded me of my childhood baches. Everything one could want including coffee, fruit and milk. Peter is thorough and thoughtful. I especially enjoyed the book selection and having a relaxing time, enough to actually finish a book. Recommended A+++
