Holiday rentals with lake access in Te Waipounamu / South Island

We loved our stay in Hāwea, especially with the secret sauna nearby. The house was spotless, easy and had all the facilities. Thank you for having us!

The Lake House is the place to reconnect both with nature and your family. We enjoyed the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets ever! If you want somewhere to build memories, come here. Skimming rocks was our kids’ main new activity. If you stay near a Sunday, try the steam train: The Kingston Flyer, it is walking distance from the house. There is more, the library is not only updated (Dune!!!) but it has a selection for every taste. I never expected to find “Educated”, by Tara Westover, and I did! We all challenged each other to get in the lake, a great experience to look in the depths of that marvel. Can’t wait to return to a place that has sets of towels both for the lake and for the bathroom, kids toys, puzzles, 4K Samsung TV packed with options to watch movies and the like. We hope we can come back, as simple as that. Thanks Jennie!

Incredible place to stay! The view is stunning and the space is cozy and clean. Loved having the grill and hot tub. Wish we never had to leave!!

Everything is so perfect, feel like home. We had a great time here. And it would be one of the most beautiful memories of our New Zealand trip , just stay in the living room/garden and enjoy the quiet nice moments with amazing lake view. We were visiting Milford Sound and wanted to stay as close as possible so as not to have to make the long drive from Queenstown. Sarah's house really fit the bill, and the house is lovely. The floor plan works great for two couples or a small family, and having two bathrooms is so convenient. We cooked our meals in the house and loved the kitchen setup. Everything you need is there, and there's a rice cooker in the pantry for folks like us cooking Asian meals. We enjoyed the neighborhood taking walks along the nearby track next to the lake, which is very picturesque. The house is really well maintained and very clean. Communications with the host were excellent. 100% recommended, and we'd love to return again to this home.

Beautiful house and neighbourhood. The house was fully accessorised, with a spacious kitchen and rooms. The property is clean and well organised for big groups. I highly recommend this place for a stay in Wanaka!

I’ve traveled with Airbnb to many countries around the world, and this is my favorite Airbnb I’ve stayed in. It was easy to access, the apartment is beautiful and felt like home right away. It’s extremely comfortable and the location is great with views of the lake and a quick walk into town. Annie shared clear instructions. We loved it and it made our stay in Wanaka peaceful and cozy!

We book Teresa apartment when we are in Queenstown and her unit offers clear and great lake side view. This apartment are spacious with 3 level, which are good and provide enough quiet space. Teresa is responsive, and provide clear instructions to check in and check out too. Strongly recommended.

There is a comprehensive guide book available before check-in, which provides very detailed introductions. The house is also very beautiful. It has a three-story structure and there are three terraces from which you can enjoy the wonderful scenery. Besides, there is a garage.

We stayed at Geoff’s apartment for 5 nights, so glad we did. The most amazing views and a neat and stylish decor. Geoff was super responsive and accommodating, we already miss this place! Thank you Geoff for providing an amazing place to be and also for your flexible check in and thoughtful gifts.

We had a great week in this apartment. The host was responsive and provided a high chair and baby bath for us. The views are incredible and just a short walk into Queenstown. The only issue is the driveway is very tight and made parking our mid-size SUV difficult. We ended up parking on the street. Recommend hiring a small car if you’re staying here.

Jason and Scott are truly Great hosts. Their cottage is amazingly lovely, clean, with a wonderful view and complete amenities. All we need are readily and conveniently available. Instructions are clear, and the place is indeed very guest-friendly. We had a homey and very special experience. The SPA is also a great deal and the view is breathtaking. We will be back, and hopefully longer stay. Thanks to them for sharing their place; we, as a family, just made another priceless memory.

This cottage was the perfect base for exploring Te Anau and the magnificent surrounding area. Adam’s place is very clean and comfortable and has everything you need. Felt right at home! As mentioned, shower pressure amazing and awesome to have laundry facilities after a long trip. Adam’s a great communicator and his small touches in the cottage made this a great 2 night stay. Recommend!

Snowshoe cottage is a beautiful tranquil escape in an exquisite part of New Zealand . We loved every second there. The hoods is beautifully kitted out, Clare is a fantastic host and we felt very lucky to got to stay there. It is a great base from which to explore and is off the tourist beaten track .

The Cottage is spacious, comfortable and really well appointed. A great base for exploring Cromwell and surroundings, and an easy walk to the historic precinct.

Location is priceless! Never been so alone in a house, no neighbours near and we had the house just for us! At night the silence is something incredible, not a single sound… and seeing the night sky from the garden was phenomenal. The house is huge and beautiful, with a super big kitchen to cook some food. Charlotte always was an incredible host, we would love to come back to this amazing house!

A perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary! A beautiful home in a lovely location. Jana and Sean have paid attention to all the little details that make this a very special place to stay. We loved the chocolates on the pillow, watching the stars in the outdoor bath and seeing the stars through the lovely skylight at night. Everything added up it deserves 6 stars! We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage near Lake Pukaki. The entire family loved it! The cottage is stunning, with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains that you can enjoy from every angle. It truly exceeded our expectations. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed, making our stay incredibly comfortable and relaxing. It’s also easy to find, which added to the stress-free experience. We had the best time here and didn’t want to leave. It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway, and we’re already planning to come back for a longer stay. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a serene holiday with unforgettable views!

Our stay at Barbara's place was excellent. The property is clean, well equipped and pretty spacious. The beds were comfortable, the showers were good, and having the use of 2 bathrooms was great. Barbara and Allan were very friendly and gave us lots of good information regarding the surrounding area. The property is only a short walk from the Historic Precinct which was very interesting, and about 1 hours drive from Queenstown. It is only a short drive from the Highlands Motorsport Park which is well worth a visit and was one of the places recommended by Barbara and Allan. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though it was only 2 nights and would not hesitate to stay again if we were in the area.
