Kihachikan South is a luxurious and homely family chalet. It has three bedrooms; one double, one twin and one smaller single room. The light filled, open plan kitchen and living room features a locally made oak kitchen that includes a Miele oven and induction hob and Miele dishwasher. The kitchen is fully supplied with all the main amenities including; a rice cooker, toaster, microwave, coffee machine and full cooking utensils should they be required. The comfy sofa seating area focusses around a cast iron pellet stove and the latest Bang & Olufsen television and sound system including live feed from the ski hills and Netflix. The daily readings from the traditional barograph will keep you ahead of the weather apps …….. possibly! The bedrooms maintain a traditional feel with shoji windows, wooden beams and authentic wall coverings with the addition of discreet blinds, wooden flooring and western style beds. The bedroom wardrobes in Japanese oak were made to order in Nagano. The bathrooms include walk in showers with locally made hinoki shower benches. The upstairs bathroom with both slate and wooden flooring also contains a separate seating area and large bath tub. The upstairs bathroom enjoys great views over to Togari and Mount Myoko. Dyson hair dryers are supplied in the two main bedrooms. The artwork throughout the Kihachikan South is a mixture of original Japanese woodblock prints and an extensive collection of original 16th & 17th century antique maps of Asia. Kihachikan South has a Miele washing machine and separate Miele clothes dryer.The ski, board and boot room is downstairs and shared with Kihachikan North and contains snow shoes for guest use (when available).

As a base for sightseeing in all seasons! 15-20 minutes by car to Togakushi, Iinuma, Kurohime, Madarao, and Myoko. In an area with famous powder snow ski resorts, you can easily enjoy winter sports in the winter. Well maintained! The private sauna is equipped with a Finnish wood-burning sauna stove. You can also enjoy a self-lowering bath. Enjoy a luxurious sauna time and forest bathing in a water bath with a magnificent view of Mt. Kurohime. Villa Mimosa Myoko is a 120㎡, 3LDK, floor rental type accommodation located about 30 seconds on foot from Myoko Kogen Station. It can accommodate up to 8 people and is ideal for families or groups. Myoko Kogen Station is a terminal station with buses to popular ski resorts such as Akakura, Suginohara, Ikenodaira, Lotte Arai and Madarao. You can use it as a base to enjoy winter sports even if you don't have a car. The room will be fully renovated in 2026. Enjoy a relaxing time away from home while being enveloped in the gentle warmth and flickering flames of the pellet stove. Please check in advance ・ The entrance is on the 2nd floor of the building, and you will enter by climbing the stairs from the road. ・ There is a restaurant on the first floor of the building.You may hear sounds or smell smells depending on the time of day, but the entrance is completely separate and the accommodation space is independent.

This house overlooks Lake Nojiri and has a superb view. There are several ski resorts (Myoko, Kurohime, Madarao) about 15-20 minutes away by car, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy the wood stove sauna and the water bath with a view. There are no private houses around, so you can listen to music and watch movies loudly. Because it is a house located deep in the mountains, we take the best measures, but in the warm season, insects come out. It snows a lot in winter. In autumn, fallen leaves dance. You will also need to adjust the wood stove fire yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but we promise you a great view and experience. Enjoy cooking with a counter kitchen with a view, condiments and cooking utensils. (There is no equipment for BBQ)

It is 60 minutes by Shinkansen from Tokyo to Karuizawa, and 30 minutes by car from Karuizawa Station, so you can work in the morning and take a half-day off in the afternoon, for example.
